Chapter 3 Is done! and I'll be starting on chapter 4 tonight, tomorrow I plan to post it.

As always feedback is welcome! I'm concerned my characters don't feel different and alive enough so let me know what you think.

Just since this thread is so content starved I am going to go ahead and paste my rewrite/expansion of chapter 3 of Anywhere by Here since the chapter originally sucked pretty hard. The chapter cuts some of the boring smut at the end and brings in more plot development for Angel including a plot dump 3/4s through. feedback about this compared to the old section would be appreciated. thanks

I dig it a lot. I like the characters and the plot has a lot of good scifi elements to it. It reminds me alot of a mix between avatar and starship troopers. Is it supposed to be based in the warhammer 40k universe or was that just a cheeky reference about the gun? So far my favorite character is Xavier as he feels the most human and relatable. If you decide to continue the story I'd be more than happy to continue reading it till its end.

1. There are a couple typos and one or two flow issues, just do a quick proof read at some point, no biggie, everyones work has those issues

2. I wish there was some more detail about the way the characters looked. There were a couple details but I feel like they needed a little more visual context . (EX.) Maybe I missed it in the reading but all I remember about Enyo's visual details is that she is Xavier's height, has scars, and walks digitigrade. I would try to expand on all of the characters visual looks if you could as I had a hard time putting them together in my mind from what we had to go on.

3.Why did the council not respond to Xavier's threat to release Enyo? I think saying "we will literally level the city if you don't give her back" is a pretty good threat to getting her released from a bunch of medieval gnolls who already think the humans are gods to begin with.


Overall story is dope as shit please continue writing, I will be more than happy to continue reading it as you put more out.

This is good feed back, I'll be working on it tonight and incorporate a lot of what you mentioned.

The council is supposed to be underestimating the humans, and they sing really accept them as gods anyway. I'll have to go back and try to show that better. And show a fracture in their society between the church and government. Originally the church were to be baddies too, but it worked out better the other way.

Also, I'm going to add more meat throughout the story, so tonight I'll probably just clean up a lot of material instead of writing on chapter 4.

Deborah is a biblical name, there is lots of religious names throughout the book.

Xaviers last name, which hasn't been mentioned yet I've just noticed, is Temple

Enyo was a minor roman god of war

Sheol and Tophet were places that practiced child sacrifice in the old testament

Stuff like that.

Actually thought of changing Deborah's name because where her character was supposed to end up has changed since I named her.

Oh, and the whole Templar thing to begin with wasnt based on warhammer, in fact the exoskeletons should look like something closer to what you see in current army trials, just refined and covered is segmented balistic plates and a kevlar underlay. (Something that actually comes up soon)

The templar thing comes from the fact I really like the crusading knightly orders from history. In fact if any of you end up at the ohio ren fair on labor day I'll be the dude wearing full battle dress of a templar knight, with my buddy doing the same as a knight hospitaller. Feel free to say hi.

Alright, I am finally finish proofreading through the first 1-5 chapters of ABH, I will consider this the final cut for them and I swear my austitic hands won't do anymore tinkering. I rewrote some bits to kill off paradoxes and inconsistencies that poped up and I expanded some more on dialogue. Also, I introduced the seventh member of the gang briefly in the six chapter. I am currently rewriting and proofing the seven chapter and hope to have it up soon
