Haddock pulls up a chair, and grabs a strip of bacon from the plate in the middle of the table, chewing happily, remembering after a few seconds to chew with his mouth closed. Both Bonworth and Cheeky stare, though Faz has the presence of mind to, at least, pointedly look at the opposing wall.

The beeping of the coffee maker makes all four of you start, and Haddock just blinks briefly.
"Gulls are loud this mornin', cap'n."
"Aye, sailor. Would you like a bowl of Treasure Treats?"
The fox appears to give this solid consideration, rubbing his hook under his chin before shaking his head. "Nay, cap'n. Dried meat, biscuit 'n oranges'll do me. Do me right. Good for the scurvy. Don't wanna be a scurvy dog, no sir." He takes another bite of bacon and stares into the middle distance, before turning plaintively to Faz and nearly whining-"Are you sure I can't tell, cap'n? I've not had such a fine time in ages."
Color rises in Bonworth and Cheek's cheeks-Bonworth simply puts his face in his hands, and Cheeky clamps her beak shut, nares flaring as she tries to hold back entirely inappropriate laughter.
Bonworth is the first to break-pushing up from the table with a-"I've got to go see a man about a dog." before he strides quickly to the front door and out. Cheeky follows shortly, practically scampering to her room and slamming the door before breaking down in laughter.
You put your elbows on the table and slowly lower your face into your hands.

Poke Lucas'd everything up when he "re-mastered" Roommates. Character's actions and motivations changed, some personalities are different, mannerisms and quirks, some of the references to FNAF got scrubbed to make it more palatable to nonFNAF fans for some reason, etc. Nothing major like changes to the plot or anything, just a bunch of minor things.

If nothing major changed, that's really not "Lucasing" something up, that's just typical remastering. If something major changed, like a character's whole personality, that's a steep claim.

I'm honestly curious about what the changes were, not for the reasons of "bah, I find your claims dubious, my good man", but more for an eager curiosity, having only read the AO3 version.

A few characters act or are described a little bit differently, Bonworth and Mangifera got an overhaul especially. Some little references to the games here and there got taken out. Rackham also initiated and is mostly recovered from his brain injury, whereas Bonworth did his stuff when Haddock was much worse. On top of that, Mike only has one incident against him while Bonworth has multiple. Months, possibly even years worth of them. Number of offenses matter a lot in these situations, and based on the circumstances Bonworth's offenses could very well be seen as worse.

A lot of stuff happens between chapters, most notably in the chapters where Foxglove secretly takes nudes of Mike, and then in another chapter Mike not only knows about it, but is getting a cut of the share. He most likely talked to her about it and deemed her harmless.

The only changes that were in any way significant that I can think of off the top of my head were:
1. Funtime Foxglove was originally a "questionably canon" chapter. When it was turned into a canon chapter, it was watered down slightly to be less predatory, and mentions were made of it in the main story (namely that Mike knew about it). This amounts to maybe 3 lines total, in the whole story.
2. In the first maybe 3 chapters he showed up, Bonworth's manner of speaking was tweaked. He was originally almost a caricature of himself, dancing a jig at every comment.
3. Mango originally used the vents to travel like Foxglove did - just one time.
Most everything else is just word choice and polish.

On the whole, the changes can be categorized almost universally by the rule of consistency. Early Bonworth isn't as realized and fleshed out yet, so his writing was more unpredictable becaue Poke and Weaver hadn't really pinned him down yet. Later chapter Bonworth is basically unchanged, so the revision was more about making early, rough Bonworth line up with Bonworth as he was eventually understood by the writers. Mango in the vent is the same sort of thing: she does the vent thing early, but then never again, and I think it's clear they realized it didn't fit, which is why she didn't keep it up, and it was eventually written out.

The revisions don't change anything to the detriment of the story, they make things a bit less jarring and a bit more consistent within characters, but nothing revolutionary. So it really is mostly a revision of polish rather than change. The bulk of changes are things like removing word repetition, clumsy phrasing, and format for AOO.
The pastebin version is, comparatively, like a rough draft, and I can't imagine anyone seriously arguing it was better.

I think it'd be interesting if someone did the research, and then went in whole hog, creating a true furry world, if only for the exploration. Canids have the knots, felines have barbs, birds can have their cloacas, but animal social behavior is integrated into the story. The canids have close knit families, based around mom and dad, and for some inexplicable reason really like humans. Maybe there's social dominance displays, and herds exist as a social unit for certain animals.
