Dewford town is home to its famous community center, always good for people watching and a great look into "isolated island life experience" The nearby Grabite Cave also has facinating wall carvings depicting scenes thousands of years old.
Mauville is a giant mall the size of a city, so if that's your thing you might as well.
Vedanturf Fallarbor Slateport and Lilycove have contest halls, if you have never been to a Hoenn contest I recommend at least one. Mossdeep has the space center, giant rocket and all so that's a cool visit. Lavaridge is home to the best hotsprings you will ever have the pleasure of experiencing. If you are the adventuring type I'd reccomend Sky Pillar, it's quite the hard climb, but the view from the top is legendary. That's all I can rattle off the top of my head, I'm sure there is more but I'm sure you can find something there, right?

An honest answer would be that yes, it is addictive, but various factors influence how much and in what ways. Simply because it is enjoyable it has the opportunity to be psychological addictive, or habit forming. However when you start to talk about some Pokémon types, namely Grass, Psychic, Poison, and Fairy, you start to step into the relm of physical addiction. So called Fairy dust can cause dependency, and thus addiction.. honestly I would need more info on the specifics of your situation, but in general you are correct to be worried.

Everything is alright at the moment. I landed a job at a Kantonian style restaurant, and it pays a decent amount. It's... it's nice. Stable pay, a roof over my head, not much to complain about. Hoenn hasn't been the target of any danger lately either, which is a load off my back.
