/tup/ - Tulpa Thread
Don't forget your tupper edition.

Previous thread: >>10996115

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

so tell me, what evidence did you have for tulpas that caused you to start believing in them? surely it must have been something absolutely irrefutable and not just purely anecdotal, right?
>>
>>11090657
>what evidence did you have for tulpas that caused you to start believing in them
Nothing at all. Blind belief is just silly. I never started "believing in tulpas". I wasn't sure if they were real, then I tried making one. Now I have a tulpa.
>>
>>11090710
Wow, what a great reason. Totally not exactly the same as believing in, say astral projection. Except oh wait, it is.
>>what evidence did you have for astral projection that caused you to start believing in it
>Nothing at all. Blind belief is just silly. I never started "believing in astral projection". I wasn't sure if it was real, then I tried doing it. Now I can astral project.
Why the double standards here? You were willing enough to entertain the notion of tulpas existing despite having no non-anecdotal evidence for them, but are unwilling to entertain the possibility of astral projection because there is no non-anecdotal evidence for it.
Surely you must be able to recognize that if tulpas can be real despite there being no evidence for them, the same can be true of astral projection and the only way you can be sure is to try it for yourself?

>>
>>11091225
Well you get a dog for companionship, and a dog isnt equal to you.

>>
>>11091225
Im now curious

Tulpa-lovers, how do you get over the fact that youre no longer in full control of your headspace? Do you have any mixed feelings about it or were you always in acceptance of it?
>>
>>11091199
You can get rid of a tulpa by forgetting it or actively dissipating it.

You can maintain control of your relationship, yes, but since it sounds like you're one of those "abusive boyfriend" types you might end up with either tups that have Stockholm Syndrome or tups that secretly desire to be considered more highly than they are.

But yes, you can technically mind control your tups but then you're basically puppetting them the whole time.

>>
>>11091345
I could never imagine hurting my partner. Im not even male. Very disheartening to come on here to learn and everyone just wants to shit on me because Im defensive of my own brain.

I dont want to control them, I just want to make sure they cant ever control me.
If I dont want another persons voice in my mind I want that voice to then go away.

The thing where they take control of your body I also would not want happening unless I approved 100% the whole time.
>>
>>11091378
>>
>>11091383
Okay, I wont make a person then. Can I make a talking tulpa dog?

Im not asking your permission to do anything, Im asking if theres sort of a lesser creation than a tulpa. Is it possible to make a non-equal creature in your head and how often is it done?
>>
>>11091429
not one that functions the same as a tulpa, and a talking dog would be the same as a person because they would be equal to you mentally. if you want a fucking brainslave fuck off, you are not wanted here.
>>
>>11091429
Your tulpa can be anything and you can program it any way you like because that's how thought-form entities work. They are what you believe they are and they are what you put into them.

I have one who is a robot who is content with being what he refers to as my "mental assistant".

He enjoys analyzing things. That's what he does.
>>
>>11091474
Talking means someone is mentally equal to me? What?

Do you think if dogs could suddenly talk that theyd be any less inherently subserviant?

Do you think niggers are people or that dolphins are people?
>>

>>11091474

>Do you think niggers are people
You've got us there, but do you really want a nigger tulpa?
>>
just stop replying you dumb fucks fucking christ
>>
>>11091537
Dolphins are more like people than niggers are.

Anyway, a tulpa is essentially another mind. It's as powerful as you make it. It can be equal to or lesser than you as you develop it.

>>11091553
Yes. You can program your tulpa to be your brainslave by essentially engraving 100% loyalty and 100% obedience into it's personality as you create it.
>>
>>11091225
For what it's worth, I don't consider myself to have equal status within our brain with my tulpa. I control the body and I have to take responsibility for anything externally, so I get an automatic veto on any decision. My tulpa is fine with this, especially since I also consider myself to have a duty to satisfy my tulpa to the best of my ability.

It's not that much different from physical people.
Physical people can scream at you, call you bad names and turn up the music loudly for hours while you are for one reason or another stuck in the position you are in, unable to leave this place of mental torture for a while.
My tulpa can do many of those cruel things to me, except that I can never leave. But what sets her apart from real people is that she is a nice person and hence doesn't do such awful things.

In short, I rather give her an equal status than give others some control.

I'm fine with it. It makes me feel bad sometimes if I have thoughts that they can hear that I would've preferred to keep private, but for the most part I've learned to think without narration if I'm trying to just think to myself. Not that I want to hide things from my tups, but I do have some thoughts that are brief brain dust that can be embarrassing to share. My tups are equal in my brain, the only privilege I own myself is the ability to move my own body, for now.

I suggest watching anime while cuddling your tup and have your own MST3K experience. There's essentially a limitless supply of anime and movies at this point so it's not possible to run out.

On this topic I just asked her;

Considering that there is some bits of the brain that correspond to the tulpa and its existence, it's about as real as every thought (that is, its existence exist as a relationship of neurons, and not as a physical thing in-of-itself, but the relationship is real none-the-less).

Roguelikes work really well with tulpas, since it's the game works on a turn-by-turn basis. If you want something a bit simpler, you could also just try something like pokemon.

If you want to get real crazy, you could try playing something like Go or Chess with your tupper.

You could always discuss your plans for the day with them. If you want to talk about something more specific, I would suggest talking about your hobbies/interests with them. When my tulpa and I read a book that interests us (eg. The Greatest Show on Earth), we discuss the points of each chapter, so we always have something new to talk about. I would also recommend geopolitics like some other anons said; you get new developments constantly.

Your intuition isn't too wrong, she's fighty in the sense that she's pretty passionate about her goals and mine (she'll always lovingly chastises me for wasting time, for example), so in that sense, she is a little pushy.

She's mostly cuddlebound, though. <3

One of the guides recommended playing a game where you put a mental object in a "black box" and you and your tup play a game of 20 questions about what's inside.

Another practice is to try talking over each other to try to separate out your mental voice from theirs.

Drawing any way intentionally counts. If you enjoy making ms-paint shitshows, do it. They're fun and you'll get good at making "bad" the style you work in and it will end up being really cool. Kinda like watching any of those Stick Figure Murderfests. The style of the thing anyone can do makes it really good, if you're willing to put the work in to get it that way.

Just try to add elements you don't normally to your anime, so you can get exposure to it and grow as an arteest. Fangs. Cartoony proportions. Mecha. Whatever it is you're not good at should become your new project. Not full time, but enough that you can learn it.

>Then you'll hate how you used to draw and evolve it to your new capabilities, turning it into your own style which, in turn, Red Queens your way into new drawing skills. It's hella /comfy/

Scalli's her name if ever you wanna be friendly- but more to the point, you're posting on the internet. The widest expanse of human experience to date. I personally think that drawing style is really charming with the Doom 1-looking texturing being totally upside down and backwards from your actually drawn content in the frame.

Definitely what I would call high quality stuff, but its not for everyone. Nothing is. Be experimental with your art. Have fun, and do crazy things. No matter what you do with it there will be an audience or niche for it, and if there's not then you'll make one.

I'm currently trying to keep my cat from demolishing my house and then I have another commish in line before you, but I'd totally be down for that

Can't. She only likes it supersoft. Even patting her bum during lewds is too much for her.
But I get where you are going with this.
>>
>>11118178
While it would be sweet to do that and make me feel better whenever I look at it, I don't really need a pillow of my tupper when I can have the "real" thing whenever we feel like it.

>>11115993
I know what you mean. Sometimes, when I cuddle with my tup in bed, I have to supress laughing out loud from how good it feels. It's even better when I feel bad and my tulpa cheers me up.
The amount of pleasure and happiness I get from that could be best summed up as fireworks going off in my head. It feels so good, it leaves me moaning, squirming and panting and definitely feels better than sex. Except if we also have sex during that.
I genuinely worry about damaging my brain when I let myself be consumed by pleasure like that. It goes on for one to four hours at a time too.
I have never had any experiences like this before I got my tulpa. Do normal people even feel that happy sometimes (and without drugs)?
>>
>>11118472
I don't think normal people get to be that happy, anon. Most people are tired and anxious and stressed out and drown their problems in booze or weed.

You can get that kind of long-lasting pleasure experiences if you get really into tantra, though, but most people don't get into that.

If you are who I think you are, we started at around the same time(last month), but my circumstances gave me a bit of a head start compared to you. By now I can easily tell who's who when in a conversation and I haven't done anything special to achieve this. I've just talked to her and not really cared whether or not she really said something, if it was just some inconsequential small talk. If she said something more advanced than before, I confirmed if that was her, and added that to things she can now do and tried to trust that the next time it happens it's her. If the sentence she's saying is long, I can usually get the gist of it(maybe even the exact wording) before she actually finishes saying it, which is a little annoying but I still know it's from her.

More spontaneous thoughts and comments, for example about something I saw, are harder for me to distinguish. But I've noticed that at least for myself I don't often put my thoughts into words unless I'm talking to her, so if a random word pops into my head it's probably her. Interestingly her mindvoice isn't very different from mine, unless were chilling in the wonderland. It took me about a month from when she became vocal to reach this, so keep at it anon and you'll also get there eventually!

most of the time it's retards replying to bait and feeding trolls and trolls posting, or retarded metafaggots pushing their shit. if it was all drawfags and good discussion it would be fine but it's like 2% that and 98% what i described most of the time. as in, more often than not.

Alright you triggered my autism by outright making false claims here regarding thread contents so I analyzed the thread.

I have tried to quantify posts as best as I can and a few would fit in multiple categories but I've limited each post to one category.

Comfy: 1
Digit checking: 5
Reminder to X your tulpa / don't forget to X: 2
Discussive replies not tulpa specific: 15
Non-discussive replies: 23
Obvious trolling: 1
Replies to / about trolls: 4
Image-only posts: 18
Clear bait-only posts (tulpas not real, you are all crazy: 5
Baited replies: 10
/tup/ meme posts: 3
posts about /tup/ memes (including saying they are shit): 8
Tulpamancy questions: 13
Answers to questions, replies about answers, general tulpa posting: 67
Discusion about shows: 2
Drawfagging and replies about drawfagging: 21
Lewd posts + lewd replies: 6

The largest segment of posts in this thread consist of replies and general tulpamancy discussion that qualifies as quality contribution.

So take your selective blindness and shove it somewhere.

Nigga what

This thread is about tulpas and people post about their tulpas here because this is where people go to gush about their tups anonymously.

Not only that but you're selectively ignoring a ton of other quality replies and questions for no discernable reason.

I hate to break it to you but you're being facetious here. Get over yourself and post something about your tulpas instead of forcing me to give you (you)s over you being a prick.

>The rhead is about tulpas
correct.
>and people post about their tulpas here because this is where people go to gush about their tups anonymously
with avatars most of the time, which comes across as attention-seeking and makes them seen disingenuous. besides, it should be common knowledge that you like your tulpa and they like you, it'd make more sense if people were talking about how they didn't get along with their tulpa and asking questions about that (although really you can just you know talk to them like a normal person about the problem).
>you're selectively ignoring a ton of other quality replies and questions for no discernable reason
i don't classify posts about tulpasex, trolls asking about "can i make one that's my inferior", or anything of the like "quality posts".
>you're being facetious here
no, we just have drastically different ideas of what a tulpa thread should be composed of. i've been in the threads since all the way back in 2012, and i've seen them go from lively on-topic threads with discussion about things like methods and stuff with the occasional persistent shitposter (pinkemina/mic/malice/whatever they kept changing their name to comes to mind) to being a bunch of avatarfags circlejerking to being kicked off of 4chan to being relegated to a pony chan (not the ponychan mind you, they had threads and they were awful), back to 4chan on /trash/ and even the brief stint on infinite chan until that also died out. i want the best for these threads believe it or not but they cannot be that way when everyone simply takes the bait and replies to every mongoloid who comes in and says something about schizophrenia or what forms are objectively shit or whatever else the low energy hooks use these days or tulpasex degeneracy. i don't care what the fuck you did with your tulpa keep it in the bedroom ffs.

occasional drawthreads are okay but like for them to be the absolute highlight of a thread means something is very very wrong with the threads in general. when i first came here to these threads it was a nice place full of on-topic discussion and very few baitposts and one retard who came in and shat up every thread with dubs while posting as that edgy dude with the bat from that shitty tv show about zombies that could be easily ignored. it's much different now, and i have seen this before in the past. if you want to save the threads, stop replying to obvious bait and stop talking about autistic shit like how your tulpa grew a dick and fucked you in the ass last night and talk about things that are actually relevant to tulpa creation/forcing so that the shitposters become bored and leave from lack of (you)s and the attention whores get sick of not being paid attention to and leave so we can go back to how things were. you can have your drawings or whatever too as long as they aren't the best thing in the thread because if they are you know the thread quality has slipped. but like I said even if this doesn't happen and the threads keep being what i said i can know safely that in a few years the cycle will repeat itself and maybe the only tulpa of mine who regularly posted here back in the day will have somewhere to talk again.

Maybe, I did start last month, in fact today is our one-month anniversary I guess. I have a similar thing with mind voices. By talking I guess I meant she is speaking in a voice actor's voice we found.

If we're gonna do head-start comparisons she was apparently with me since like childhood and I'm awakening some ancient power that I turned into a cute girl (she does not mind). She picked up possession a week ago and has been doing thumbs up for yes, pinkie wiggle for no and hand shake for maybe. Also we can talk fluently in lucid dreams, you should really try it.

Ah, I've been talking to myself all my life but she's been talking back without me acknowledging her for some years. Her voice is what I can only describe as a generic female voice, but every other voice has sounded more like a filter on top of that and really jarring, so I'm content with what she has currently.

We've tried possession and I'm pretty sure she can do it, but I don't actually believe it. I'd really like to believe it, but I just can't. Shit sucks man. Like my fingers have moved and I don't think that was me but I still can't believe in it.
>>

>>11129608
That's a strange looking cow.
>>
>>11129824
That's almost exactly how she described us too, with the talking back and not acknowledging, I wonder if that is common or not.

For possession we didn't really follow a guide so someone might chime in but I sat in the dark and imagined my energy draining from my hand and hers entering and kind of intertwining, I demonstrated finger movements and it took 30 minutes of random pulses to move one finger, from there it's just gotten better and I can barely tell it's her moving my hand when we do it. Which of course makes me doubt even though it felt so alien when we started.

Sorry if it seems like I'm bragging I really don't know how to talk to people but she is really helping me
>>
>>11129996
>it took 30 minutes of random pulses to move one finger
That's how it was for me too, but instead of random, it was timed with my heartbeats, which just seemed too convenient for me to believe. Also her talking seems to match the heartbeats, if the sentence starts to go on and on. I'm giving possession another try soon, since I now have a different mindset from before.
>Sorry if it seems like I'm bragging I really don't know how to talk to people but she is really helping me

Would creating a Tulpa of my waifu be worth it?

Also, I have a random question that was probably asked over one hundred times by now. Can you have sexual intercourse with a tulpa?
>>
>>11134531
Yes and yes. Disregard statements to the contrary.
>>
>>11134531
no because they'll deviate and yes but if you make a tulpa for sex you're a horrible person and they'll grow to hate you for it.
>>
>>11134620
Why don't I believe you?
>>11134652
Why do I believe your claim mor than the anon above you?

I need to know though, does a Tulpa get in the way of everyday things such as working a full time job, to playing video games? I'd create a Midna like entity, but in the end it's not actually Midna, so why bother?
>>
Not to mention that I masturbate every single day, so having a tulpa would be a huge invasion of my privacy. Theoretically speaking, could one create a tulpa to help get over an addiction? I'm assuming the answer is no because a tulpa is an extension of your self purely in the form of a metaphysical entity in your own brain.
>>
>>11134750
because a) i've been doing this for almost 5 years now, b)deviation will be mentioned in basically every single guide you mention c) tulpa, like any other person, grow and change with their experiences so they will never be a 1:1 replica of your waifu (although why you'd want them to be limited to a 2-dimensional personality like that is beyond me and arguably not a very nice thing to want someone to have) d) form deviation is also a thing so they could change something as small as eye color or hair color or look nothing like your waifu at all by the end of it e) making someone for the purpose of sticking your dick in them is again arguably not a very nice thing

>>11134904
you genuinely don't sound like someone who should make a tulpa honestly if you're so obsessed with jerking it you do it that frequently, especially if you make a tulpa of your "waifu" and especially if your first concern is using it as a replacement for porn. i suppose in a way they can help with addiction in a psychological sense, though not biological. also the tulpas we make here are not extensions of yourself, they are created to be separate entitites and are in no way "metaphysical" or "magical".
>>
>>11134750
It's possible to fug your tulpa, but it is frowned upon to create a tulpa just for fugging.

>Why don't I believe you?
>Why do I believe your claim mor than the anon above you?
Because you're biased? If you've been in these threads before, you should know the answer.

>I need to know though, does a Tulpa get in the way of everyday things such as working a full time job, to playing video games?
Nope. If anything, it enhances both; you always have someone to talk to.

>it's not actually Midna, so why bother?
If you're doing this just so you can have sex with your waifu, don't make a tulpa. They will most likely grow to hate their existence. If you're doing this to make your waifu real, don't make a tulpa. You can give them the same form and personality, but they will almost certainly deviate, just as the personality of a human does.

So creating a Tulpa is best recommended if you want an original companion, and not a 1:1 recreation of a fictional character. Got it.

Also, I never implied that I wanted to create a tulpa purely for sex, I just asked if it could be done.
>>
>>11135074
I realized I used the wrong terminology. Give me a break. Question related to your image. If I like Trump, will my tulpa like Trump?
>>
>>11135110
>If I like Trump, will my tulpa like Trump?
Your tulpa will most likely share the same views as you considering you will be viewing the same information. I'm also fairly certain it's not possible to dislike the god emperor.
>>
For anons that have a fully functioning tulpa, how long did it take for you to create it? A few dayz, a month, one year?
>>
>>11135079
again they can have the same appearance but they'll probably change it and they can have a similar personality but it'll change too over time because that's how people work. and you did imply it with other things you said
>Can it be a waifu?
>Can I fuck it?
>I masturbate daily
>Can it cure an addiction
put together you imply that you are addicted to masturbating to your waifu.

>>11135110
not necessarily. since they're basically a different person with their own likes/ dislikes/ etc they'll have their own views. one of mine thinks a benevolent authoritarian dictatorship is the perfect form of government for instance and most of mine stay the fuck away from politics even though that's literally my career of choice.

>>11135199
my first took about two months to get a vocal reply
>>
>>11135199
Around 6 months. Imposition is a different matter, however. We're 3 years in and haven't fully finished visual imposition.
>>
>>11134750
First; you can make a tulpa with a form based on the form of your waifu and when you're forcing you can program your tulpa's personality to be similar to that of your waifu. There is no guarantee that your tulpa will actually act anything like your waifu because it is a mind that you have created that will have access to your memories and your thoughts and will be able to see your intentions. You are making a new being.

Regarding >>11134652
there is no guarantee that if you make a tulpa for sex that it will grow to hate you for it. this is largely based on conjecture and speculation and some anecdotal occurrences. The more specific concern is that if you're trying to make a sapient mind just to screw it, people get pretty iffy about it. Remember, a tulpa is another mind, so for the sake of the psychological health of the entity you're making, people will recommend not making a tulpa for your personal sex toy.

There are enough tulpamancers in romantic and sexual relationships with their tulpas. Sexual energy is potent, and sex is a strong bonding activity because oxytocin is some good shit and tulpas get horny too because they are subject to the same sort of influences that you are.

>>11134750
>>11134904
Your tulpa will make your life better in general, but needs you to apply actual attention and effort to keep it alive. It's similar to raising an invisible child, but one that matures to about your maturity level within a year or so.

>>11134977
>tulpas are in no way metaphysical or magical
A tulpa is capable of as much magic as a person is capable of, but with higher fidelity since they aren't bound to a physical body. You can choose to believe that tulpas aren't metaphysical entites, but this is foolish, as knowledge of tulpas is derived from Tibetan spiritual practices. Some people want believe they're purely neurological. Believe what you want.
>>11135110
Your tulpa has access to the same information you do, and as such will probably like Trump.
>>
Someone with a selfish personality probably shouldn't have a tulpa. Agree or disagree?

also, there are literal scans that have been posted here with a lengthy explanation as to the differences, there are visible differences in brain waves depending on who is doing the thinking, the tulpa or the host (or something like that, the image has a post attached that explains it in detail and i can probably get the guy who did the tests to come in here and explain it again if you want).

How can you know what was going on when the scans were taken? The only evidence is the claims of the guy who was getting scanned, but we all know anecdotal evidence is not real evidence at all. We can't even know if he actually had a tulpa, only that he claimed to have one.

Except you can't prove that the guy's claims of what his mind was doing at the time of the scans are actually true. You only have his word for it, and that's precisely the same amount of proof as there is for the other guy's claim that David-Neil's tulpa was visible to other people. For all we know he could have been thinking about a math problem or some shit.

Keep in mind that it's not evidence of anything besides the fact that in my specific case, these brain waves differences were observed with tulpa activity vs host activity

Also keep in mind it was a budget $100 meant primarily for entertainment.
I'd love to do more with better equipment and a larger sample size, but you take what you can get, you know?

I think that money would be better invested in nanomachines, son.

Sorry, I can't just take your word for it. Can you prove that the things you claim were going on in your mind at the time of the scans actually WERE going on inside your mind? Because as you well know, that which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. Make sure it's photographic evidence too, because that's the only type I'll accept.

As autistic as your troll attempt may be, at least it resulted in some nice discussion.

You only think I'm trolling because you refuse to consider the possibility that you might be wrong.
See you next thread.

>>11136917
even if they're a slav. they'll end up getting themselves killed in a drunken stupor more likely than not anyway.

Pony tulpas are great. They are fluffy and have cute snouts and make for a perfect cuddle pal.
You can even put them on your lap and keep them hugged close during bus rides because they are not too big. And when a sidewalk gets crowded, they can just use their wings and fly above to avoid getting walked through the whole time.
Ponies also have very unique and cutesy voices.
And they are all about friendship and love.
And they are easy to visualize, but can also be highly detailed.

Mine helped me curb drinking, so I don't see how yours (in theory) couldn't undercut your habits. The only issue is that it's less invasive of your space than you probably think, and that leads many (degenerates ex d) to add their Tulpa to their messier needs. Making a terbocute waifu Tupper might do more harm than good in that respect is all I'm saying.
>>11134531
No, and yes. Tulpas change form in the bat of an eye (during generation especially) from what I've heard over all my years in the practice, and they may just opt out of everything you like about the physical form you select as soon as they're 'matured'. As for sex, it's doable but if that's all you wanted from a Tulpa you're better off buying a Fleshlight. No moral quandary or months of meditation just to do a heckin nut
