Unless we're talking something akin to power armor or something where you NEED specifics, I'd say as general rule, try to keep it to a line or two.
Going into extreme detail that's not needed is rarely a good sign, but you should absolutely give some description even main characters. Don't assume the reader is familiar with the setting .

And if you need more than a few sentences, spread it out as organically, but do it relatively quickly and in your "set up" phase, rather than over the whole story. To avoid having mcguffin abilities or something. Chekhov's gun, and all that.

Never really thought about material. Depends. Is it actually an important outfit that DESERVES the attention? Like something regal, religious, mystical, or a hero's suit?

If yes, depends on the perspective

For first and second story perspective; make sure the character would actually care or at least give half a fuck. It wouldn't make sense for the annoyed person being dragged along to suddenly gasp and be awe struck by some clothes.

For third; can get straight to the point so it is 100% an outside perspective

For describing the clothing itself; I would say to go in order of what should be noticed first. Usually the upper wear if it isn't a dress or one piece. The color is usually the first thing people notice as well as designs. Quality and the type of cloth would be next; if not the exact type (most people don't know what the difference is and if your character has no reason to, they should not) then it is okay just to use adjectives. Such as shiny, rough, clean, coarse, rubbery, loose, etc.

After that, just go down the list of what you want noticed. Are they wearing something on top of their head; like a crown, hat, or hoodie? Probably more important than jewellery, which is either on par with pants/bottoms and accessories, and hardly anyone cares about shoes unless they are REALLY nice shoes or the character is a "omg, those shoes are sooo fab!" Valley girl dunce type... Or... Foot fetishist?

Personally, I headcanon there is one Anon and one Fem on SSA, and the two aren't related.
Anon's just sort of the herdb0ss of their little rural family, being with AJ and Bloom, and is probably behind most any other satyrs running around there.
So Darcy's in a relationship with her uncle by marriage, not by blood.

When they have time, they sometimes head out for a night on the town.
There's plenty of snuggling under a warm blanket when it's cold, and sweaty trysts that end with them staring at the stars from a barn loft in the summer.

Whatever it is they do in the hayloft together after dark must be super tiring, that's for sure. I mean they're always really sweaty and out of breath afterwards. It must be fun though, because they're always smiling and holding hands when they leave together.
