Her stepmom abuses and humilates her, and when Kit makes a witty comeback, she immediately ends up feeling like a bad person and laments that she shouldn't be so harsh to the stepmom. Then there's people irl who just let others have their way with them because of how deeply in love or distorted their views are for the other person.

But anyways, I kinda wish there was someone who could draw that greentext out. It could be like an alt scene or a "how it should have happened" thing.

Kit's blindness is caused by a Lucky Star-they're particularly profound magic, borderline and possibly outright divine. Lucky Stars are inherent to a person, and cannot be removed on the same level you can't "remove" someone's telomeres.
Also, resurrecting the dead is a very temporary state of affairs-you're basically raising a p-zombie.

Lucky Stars don't affect Possums because Possums are completely immune to magic due to Didelphi nomming their Tree so she could fight off the gods. This is a double-edged sword, but it means they're immune to all magical effects-not conjured items, but magic itself. Morbi went into detail about how Possum antimagic works, and it's tied into their hearts and to a lesser degree their blood.

Kit's had multiple Possum friends before, possibly lovers, as confirmed by her father. Poppy's just the first one we KNOW she's fallen in love with, because she feels for the Possums and Poppy has the Worst Backstory.

That's bullshit. The comic doesn't have slow pacing, it has slow updates.
Putting more time into planning individual pages isn't going to fix the inherent problem that Morbi bit off way too much with creating the myth arc for his level of output, because that ship has long since sailed. It's just going to waste more of the reader's time while producing a shitty, watered down version of a story.
The "Kaz solution" isn't one. It's procrastination with flaccid promises that work's being done for months on end. The MSPA format's designed to output content as quickly as possible to fit fan suggestion and he's managed to fuck that up so bad that he hasn't updated it in two years. Even if that were the case, you'd only really be saving maybe 5 pages a year worth of material. The underlying problem is still that Morbi's output in the current format doesn't match his ambitions, and that the comic would take literal decades to finish unless he cut massive chunks of it out, which would create a lot of orphaned plot threads.
Maybe you don't like it, but you have to admit that a novel format is objectively a faster way to tell a longform story.

Limitations born from medium only go so far. Based on how Morbi writes, his tendency to not script far in advance, and his habitual procrastination, I think we're more likely to see nearly the same pacing or summaries so barren of detail he may as well have just overhauled the comic.

OOP focuses on the main character's mental state and the differences in his/her physical form a LOT, and it is clearly a TF fetish comic, but it's also a TF fetish comic in the best way possible and serves as a neat little journey through a life in fantastical shoes.

It's better than some seasons of Star Trek in that tone and regard, though I know that's not exactly a high bar sometimes.

"Because I felt like it" is a normal and acceptable basis for decisions, but a well crafted story often needs to then consider the effects this has both overtly and subtly. You CAN add the super most powerful laser spewing badass motherfucker because you just felt like it, but you have to then sit down and mull over it. How does this change the tone. How will it be presented. How does the narrative react. How do the characters react. How does thus change the reader's perception.

An all inclusive "I just felt like it" is fine on occasion, but using it as a justification on the majority of your work is lazy, stifles meaningful feedback and can often hurt the finalized piece of art.

How about this example? I knew a guy making his own comic. He was a good way into his first chapter when he proposed adding the threat of an approaching tank to the story. Now, that's a great idea on its own, but having spent well over a hundred pages on his first chapter and introduced about a dozen characters --all while in the middle of a physical conflict with some baddies-- this was a bit much. It was internally consistent, sure; the military would respond to a sudden rampage in town, but the context was the problem. Introducing this element would slow down the story, force him to come up with reasons for why this would not have immediate ramifications in the next chapter and explain it away to the audience, split the focus during the climax more than it had already been, and so on.

He ended up never finishing the chapter after adding several more things "because he felt like it." Flashbacks, side characters, new powers, all of it was hurled at readers because he wanted to include it but didn't have the patience or discipline to consider the consequences. Consistency means nothing compared to context and execution.
