Imagine if one day she's minding her own business in the tower when an alternate version of herself pops in through a tear, only she's a bit different....
Her clothes barely cover her, soft jello-y fat spills out in all directions, she's jiggling with every movement. Her hair is disheveled, unidentifiable stains decorate her demolished blouse, and more than a few crumbs occupy the generous valley of cleavage she's showing off through the taunt buttons. Elizabeth can't help but share a momentary glance at her own chest in a pang of momentary jealousy before regaining her composure enough to ask her strange doppelganger just who she is.

The larger Liz is only to happy to explain who they both are really and what their power can really do. She plucks eclair's from the air and summons up greats feasts of the strangest fare Elizabeth has ever seen. Many things completely new to the lonely girl in the tower, and anyone else from that time period really. Her obese mirror explaining how these delicacies have been pulled through time and space to satisfy cravings the little girl doesn't even know she has... yet.

After a trip around the table and more than a bit of pressure from her ample twin Elizabeth has to agree, this food is amazing. The "junk foods" people have created in the future are truly inspirational, Elizabeth's favorite might be the dish they call "deep dish pizza". However much to her dismay her dimensional double is unwilling to bring her more.
The more Elizabeth begs and whines the more her blubbery binary pushes her to try for herself. As the cravings start to grow Elizabeth finds she too can will any dish she desires into her reality, from any point in time. Her hunger is the key, the more she craves it the longer her reach becomes. If she want's it bad enough she can find anything from anywhere hot and fresh just ready to fill her belly.

In no time The current Elizabeth is seeking out new sugary treats and fried fare from all over the world and the timeline. As her powers grow stronger her skirt grows tighter. Her generous benefactor giving her an approving pat on the head for giving in into her temptations so readily, just as she knew she would. Before opening a tear to exit she makes sure to tell her bloated self to share the joy with another Liz, when she's able to stand that is. As the tear closes the last thing Elizabeth see's is the extra wide panties straining to contain the round ass of her other self. Elizabeth tries to get up but just collapses again letting loose a few hiccups, she's stuff herself too much to share this wonderful gift yet.

But since she's not going anywhere just yet... a few more pizzas wouldn't hurt.
With a wave of her hand her desires are fulfilled, all of them, anything she wants is within reach.

Yeah, I've always sort of figured this was part of the problem. Like, back in the 90s or whenever, fat people weren't as common nor striving to become a protected class, so it was ok to make a joke/wg episode and it didn't offend that many people. But now, about 2/3 of the American population is obese, so doing a wg episode just highlights the disparity between the looks of the average cartoon character and the average American, which could be a touch insensitive.
I still want more WG episodes though.

Shortstacks do make for excellent fatties, and it helps that being so short makes them look a lot fatter, even at relatively low weights.

I do find the hair thing kind of cute, though it's quite funny when you realise that other than baked goods, she probably doesn't smell that nice, conventionally.

CGI shows have the lowest likely hood of weight gain plots. In order to make it happen they have to produce a fat model of characters that will gain, maybe even several to show a developing problem. It's not as easy as modifying the base models either since just inflating the body parts never looks right. In CGI a fat body has to be built as one, and even needs it's own rigging (the digital skeleton that the body parts snap to and use to determine how they should move) as the base model rigging would cause clipping with the larger body.

tl;dr You hardly ever get WG in CGI shows because it's a lot of work to make the characters fat.
