Turns out he worked better from the shadows.
He only even fought anyone at the end because he had nothing left to lose. When he attacked Mike, he still thought he was Safety Schmidt, and so he assumed he might get "damaged" in the fight, himself. So really, Jeremy went into the fight knowing it might end badly for him, he was just past the point of caring.

Didn't he singlehandedly cause almost literally all the misery in the entire story? He was behind basically every injury and neurosis. We got 40 chapters of buildup for his evil deeds, they were sewn into every page and every character, and he doesn't then become a bad villain just because he didn't kill enough major characters on screen. He's spooky and sinister, and he makes for a very moody villain.

I feel like people who wanted or expected this missed the entire genre. Roommates is slice of life with a horror/mystery subplot. It's about the characters and their lives, Jeremy's is just the background. It spices things up and provides a pivotal moment for the climax of the story but anyone who's read 48 chapters of crying into rabbit dewlaps and flirting with busty chickens should have figured out this is not the kind of story where a quarter of the cast gets slaughtered in a single chapter just to make the villain seem more imposing.

seriously though, if it weren't for the amount of work you'd need to fill out the stuff not played in the threads and then backfilling object interactions and conversation trees meaning it's unlikely to ever happen, it would make for an excellent game.

the last thing i request from poke and weaver, is a mega mini of everyone finding out that Mike is human. I REALLY wanted that to happen eventually within the story and everyone just going fuckin' apeshit in their own distinctive ways. I was really disappointed that no one realized something was fishy when Jeremy directly addressed Mike as one of the animatronics but "in the flesh". For the most part I feel like it did do a good job of cycling all of them back in and out organically. But in the later chapters when you compare all the members of 87-B Foxglove was getting a lot of screen time and Fredrick was in the final grand act while Chiclet and Bonnibel were still sorta left out till the very end.

Depends what you're looking for. It's slice of life so if a bunch of friends hanging out and having comfy moments isn't your thing, I doubt you'll change your mind. There are some horror/mystery/suspense notes here and there, especially near the latter half of the story, but at its core it's still slice of life so you're either into it or you're not.

That said the early chapters were much, much thinner and not as well written, but the overall nature doesn't change too much.

Bastian hasn't posted in the thread in months aside from putting up a link to my Twisty Ones livestream after I begged him to. Too busy playing Minesweeper and suffering from depression. You may be right about the others, I don't know. I'm still optimistic for the future of the general, EndoQuest is going strong, and writefaggotry is slow but stable enough to keep things going for a while, not to mention Crisis and Rugrats are still pretty active, but I do miss the cozy factor. I'm not sure if the fights in January are what killed it completely, or if it can be brought back, but nostalgia is very hard to completely filter out. It is nice to be able to post porn though.

You're right, but I think I get the impression that's it's only a small handful of crazy autists because in /5N@F/'s past we've had these big angry wall of texts before, and it's always with the same theme: the ocfags are the real problem, an Us vs Them narrative, and huge blocky paragraphs that hit the text limit. It just seems far too similar in writing style, format and tone to be a coincidence.

Or maybe I'm just too hopeful. I get the feeling that the other 80-100 people who also browse our threads are tired of it too. I'm probably dragging this on, though so for what it matters, sorry for that guy's autism leak.
