TQ is my favorite. There was clearly a lot of planning involved. Dozens of characters that had pretty decent depth, tons of routes that we mostly ignored for booty.

GQ is a close second. I loved the combat. The writer and other voters tended to agree with my crazy ideas and usually it got us out of some pretty nasty scenarios and harder fights.

Nah, it's not a fanfic, it's my attempt at using CQ as a vague platform for my own """original""" scenario. Dunno if anything good will come of it, but I kind of wanted to move away to something more my own instead of just a RWBY CYOA that only has loose connections to RWBY in the first place. I don't know about it being that controversial, like I wrote in the prologue itself it's actually become quite common (Youjo Senki being a more prominent recent example). I think one of the reasons I wanted to write it like that is because a fair few of those series didn't explore the subject as much as I'd like. Well, YS might actually do it, but I'm way too lazy to read the novels in Japanese.
And yeah, I guess it's pretty niche, but I'm not too fussed about getting a broad appeal anyway, it's largely for my own amusement. I'd rather write something I enjoy for practise before I ever try to do something seriously.

as I said, it's everything along the lines of "exit the game" or "take off the VR headset" ~

there were a bunch of hints:

"your body"
(instead of just "you", trying to grammatically seperate what's happening to your body and what's happening to your consciousness)

"soft office chair" is the only real tactile sensation you actually get, further showing that it's the only real thing happening.

the rest of the first line is the setting of what's happening inside the VR headset, it's where your consciousness is, not your body.

obviously, another clue is that there are no office chairs in a church.

then a bunch of "you don't feel that", to futher hint at it all being not real.

and 2017 should show that it's relatively recent, just as the VR hype~!

The two of you stand and head inside. You quickly move through the base to the barracks. You spot the sleeping faunus sharing a cot, as they often do. Regallia has her arm wrapped around Aero. Both look pretty comfy.

Crystal rips the pillow out from under them and drops it on their faces.

"Get up, we've got company."

She turns and strolls out of the room towards the base's exit.

"Uh. What she said."

You follow her out as the pair throw the pillow at the wall and start to get up.

You exit the base as the ships lands. The bay opens and a military man with a tablet strolls forward. Several soldiers exit after him and start moving into the base.

"Oliver Greene and Crystal Eton, I assume. Are Aero Swann and Regallia Arachnea present?"

"They're inside." You say. "What's this about?"

"The four of you have been summoned. These men will relieve you of your duties here."

"What about the rest of our contract?" Crystal asks.

"The payment for your time spent here has been deposited into the accounts you provided. The bounty has been marked fulfilled. It will not negatively impact your records." He says without looking up from his device. "You have 10 minutes to gather your belongings."
