He's not particularly skilled at writing, but that's enough to make him better than the vast majority of the dreck that is modern pop culture. The mere fact that he has no major plot holes is a singularity.

I mean, imagine the kitchen of a fine cuisine restaurant. The head chef tells everyone else what to do, while everyone else does menial labor.

Nursing is very similar--the doctor actually 'cures' the patient, while a nurse is responsible for anything and everything--from taking blood work to cleaning up shit.

I've never done nursing, but I've had friends who were LVN, which is the equivalent of nursing-lite, and just from some of the literal shit he had to put up with, it makes you wonder why anyone would want to be a nurse in the first place, other than the fact people like doing thankless work.

You know what, I said above that Morbi isn't a particularly skilled writer but I take it back. Re-reading, I'd say he's a quite good writer. The comic's flow is solid, he manages to make most pages end in some level of cliffhanger, there's things way back in the story that make more sense in light of more recent information, and the universe is really nice and well-put-together. As is the "art direction", like in the part where Fred starts astral-projecting. But it also made me realize how much the story relies on the form of the comic medium to work. Morbi uses his nice art to good effect, and it would lose a lot if rendered into prose. Again to use the astral-projecting part, the novelty of Fred in the telephonist's machine flat-out can't be conveyed without a vsual element. I suppose he did say the chapters would have a lot of illustrations, which could remedy part of that. But the other part would be lost regardless, because they're contained in the sequentiality of panels.

Because the comic had some nice potential, but degraded into lower, and lower quality, a smorgasbord of SJW rhetoric, it's not even the trans. char that is the problem, but the whole story has slowly been becoming an overreaching crescendo of a preachy underhanded message of progressivism that's been said a thousand times over already. It really had a decent chance, but tripped on itself, fell over into the Tumblr mud pile, and the creator as well, got a little too politically involved, and just flopped around dying on the ground as both sides fought vigorously to either revive or kill it. The nail in the coffin was how Morbi has been treating the fan base of his own works and his associations which leave's a bad taste in other's mouths, with regards to caving in to Tumblr guilt-shaming and PK.

The entire debacling scene of both the artist and comic has been a nasty tragic mess. I really had high hopes for the comic, but alas, it's probably dead and will be dead. Even if it's revived, I think it won't matter much. These threads though, are really just trying to push interest in a dying comic further, and/or increase Patreon donations.
