Pretty standard hobbies, that being games of all kinds. Watching chinese cartoons is pretty high up there too. Im fine with all music types, but I'm terrible with names so I cant really list any bands

Lil' ol me? Let's see. I love to write and world build stuff near constantly, hunt around for new music to listen to and trying to learn to draw. I like techno, rock, jazz and a lot of funk (A lot of my musical tastes are based off of The World Ends With You and early Gorillaz music but I'm pretty open to new stuff) the only things I don't like are country stuff. Main hobby is tabletop games, pen and paper rpgs mainly but also lots of board games. Video games too, all sorts. I also brew beer, want to get into distilling spirits. I play piano and just starting banjo, in to all sorts of music but mainly varieties of metal, post-rock, progressive-whatever. Favorite bands would probably be Opeth, Baroness, Punch Brothers, The Algorithm, Porcupine Tree, and Lunatic Soul. Favorite book is probably Good Omens, Neil Gaiman is definitely my favorite author. Favorite movie is The Thing.

I haven't played either (or any Thing: The Thing p&p rpgs), but from what I've read, Changeling: The Lost does a way better job of capturing the whole "former human living crazy monster life in crazy monster land" theme - moreso than forsaken's Captain Planet + yiffing approach.

speaking of hunters: i like the idea of werewolves being extraordinarily susceptible to mind control - which, depending on the setting, might be the real reason for their violent/evil reputation.

I talked about this in the last /awoo/ thread but I'm more interested in the emotional aspect if we were to get personal with it. It is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and I'm sorry for the likely situation in which I build it up so much and you hate it.

It really relies on its build up if atmosphere and puritan trappings. It nails old american dialogue and costuming so that it really feels like an old time ghost story. It never really shows you a whole lot, and the movie is intentionally filmed very very dark for scenes which take place at night. That was what made most of my friends hate it, but if you like subtlety and have any puritan streak or religious upbringing I think you'll like it.

Yeah, the practical effects of the thing still hold up after all this time, they're just so well crafted. Then the ending is prime, and every time I watch it I notice a new detail. There's no plot point that isn't explained by a detail from a previous scene, and you can actually track exactly who the thing is for the entire movie up until the end. Just so well put together.
