So, I am glad that folks seem to really like my newest comic, and that is a huge relieve, as I had made more than 1 comics that turned disastrous
Well, after making another chapter or two for "Earning the badge", I am planning to make an even more ambitious crossover comic
It will be really difficult, I already have the strip and the directions laid out in my mind, but the execution will undoubtably be gruesome
That is why, without a doubt, I need help
I need someone to give me advice, suggestion and tell me what I do wrong. It will goes like this: I would forward the sketches and ideas/dialogs to you, and you would decide whether it would go into the bin
Mead, Weaver or any CC that is adept at story telling in comics will be crucial in helping me turn this ambition into a reality. So, if anyone knows how to contact them, or if anyone feels that you are up for a joint effort with me, please, feel free to tell me

Let's start from the beginning; it's not much.

To recap: a 'love doctor' is a colloquial term for a sex educator, and animals seek their help most often when they wish to take part in an interspecies relationship. Though sex as a topic is still mildly taboo (think the USA instead of Europe) and some believe that these love doctors promote open degeneracy.

Confession: some art got posted here and I've always had issues with certain things this artist does. So I harshly ranted and vented about it because it's 4chan. The poster made polite remarks inquiring more of my critique and I responded.

That artist posted new works recently and I noticed they changed the things in their art that I ranted about.

I feel guilty because the poster was probably the artist sharing for some Yous. I wouldn't have said it so nastily. On the other hand I'm thrilled they took my advice and their art imo looks much better.

I don't know how bad their art was but there's a difference between harsh criticism and 4chan venting.
I tune out posts that just shit on stuff. But if you have actual ways of improving something or pointing out something that's wrong that's interesting. And if we're a bit more accepting of people who make mistakes we don't drive them out by accident. He's a decent artist, not my taste but people like him. He's never announced himself here so that's why I didn't think it was him. He actually may not have seen the posts (and someone told him about it) but it was probably him.

the problem is people don't realize you don't have to be a dick to give constructive criticism, or they don't realize what constructive criticism is and offer no solutions to problems they point out. this is harder for people who don't draw, because they might not know terminology or how to get their point across, or what's wrong with the picture besides "this isn't working out"

I'm always open to people telling me what's wrong with bigger drawings and renderings I do, I might not edit a fix onto that picture but Ill remember it for next time.

Sure, when someone continues drawing without even trying to improve it is right to call them out.
But it's not like someone likes to be flogged every time they upload something. Otherwise why should they want to continue creating? Even the most determined lover of the arts will stop posting and/or creating if they receive only negative criticism.
The right way is constructive criticism. Every time I give critique I talk about the points one needs to improve and the ones they are decent. No need to bash uselessly someone, they just lower the morale of the creator and it is not useful. Good critique should not be overly harsh, but just.
It's not a matter of "growing a thick skin", it is simply treating the other as a human being

Not that anon (duh) but here is what I will say:
The first to improve is the anatomy. While you have gotten the general shapes and sizes right there are many little elements that need improvement, in particular Judy's ears (size and placement) and the relation between her nose and eyes. Don't be afraid to do some intersecting between the two (same for Nick's eyes and nose). Also increase the size of Judy's eyes. Nick's chin should be a little more important, be careful of the interaction between Judy's paw and Nick's neck. While Nick's paw placement is good, Judy seems to be making an overhand.
Train on coloring with more uniform colouring and be careful of the shadows' position. You need to visualize a single light source used by both of them. Also decrease a little the brightness of the colours, since it is directly related to the brightness of the light source. Too bright colors see unnatural.
Continue like this, I want to see your improvements.
