Haven't worked on the story lately, and I don't know when I will. Currently, my creative goo is being eaten up by a big non-fetish-related project I'm working on.

Also, drawing on my tablet computer has re-kindled my interest in graphic art. So, some of my motivation and free time that normally would have gone to writing has been diverted to learning/teaching myself how to draw. So while that does mean no writing, it does mean you'll likely see actual drawings from me in the future. Unfortunately I'm still trying to get a handle on the basics and haven't yet worked my way up to ponies, but I will.

Anyways, yes, person who keeps being hype about changeling greentext. I'm really glad that you're looking forward to it, but I haven't made any tangible progress beyond what's in that document in the pastebin. I will, don't worry, but nothing lately. And when I do get some inspiration and writing time, Breathers chapter 7 is gonna take priority.

Oh, and speaking of pastebin, I got on to add some stuff to my notes for the Feng Shui game that I'm GMing, noticed that it had 18 hits, thought that was unusually high, and then noticed that I forgot to make it unlisted, and it was public. I went through my other stuff and then realized that the 80s music playlist I wrote down for a friend of mine was also public.

So, even though I don't see why you would, my OCD will eat away at me unless I at least ask-- did anyone here particularly care about either of those two documents? Cause if so, I'll put them back up. I primarily took them down cause I thought they'd cause confusion out of context. But, if for whatever weird reason you want to know what I consider to be the best new wave/80s alternative songs or my campaign notes for an RPG game that you're not privy to in a system you've never heard of, then by all means, I'll make it so.

Wanted to go for the very moment where the fission reaction's started, but still largely contained inside the bomb, which also is the very moment where most of the momentum gained from falling was transferred into the inflatable surface and as a result the mass of the pegasus had stopped accelerating having very largely deformed the pressurized vinyl, straining the seams heavily in the process.

I tend to prefer the gaping hole approach myself, just seemed like it worked better in this case if it were the seams just beginning to fail from all the pressure.

Splorch_bucket here with an update. I've actually been active the last couple days and ended up writing a decent amount. The funny thing is, most of the development went into a story I abandoned two paragraphs in months ago. It was going to be a short fic about Sombra toying with Luna and Celestia, but it spun out of control into an AU setting I'd like to do a couple of stories in. The first one is more or less just setting up the status quo for the setting. Well, that and Celestia Inflating and exploding a lot. Like really a lot. To the point where part of the status quo is that Celestia is either inflating or exploding at any given time. The other main characters will be Twilight and Luna. Before the story even starts Luna was mindbroken to the point of returning to Nightmare Moon, and now serves as a primary lieutenant for Sombra. Early on in the story, Twilight gets corrupted and ends up as succupone bookhorse. Sombra will be present, but distant. I may also make Sombra rule 63 to open opportunities later.

The main reason I'm telling people this, instead of just working on it and dumping it as I go, is to gather a few suggestions. Story 1 focuses primarily on Celestia getting the Prometheus treatment. Is there anything in particular someone would want to see? It's worth noting that this is going to have a darker gritty feel to it so things like "helium tank" don't exactly fit. It can also be expected to be consistently messy. What I have so far:
>Celestia incubates a particular type of shadow monster being used by Sombra's armies. She fills overtime with shadowstuff until it takes a form and bursts out. This is the default inflation that happens on a daily basis.
>Twilight's transformation takes place inside Celestia. Twilight exits from the front.
>Cum inflated to bursting by old members of her Day Guard
>Bellyful of crystals. Things get... pokey.
>SuccuTwi wants to show her old teacher some new spells she's been having fun with. There are several of these.

Its got some leftover stuff recycled from the Changeling story I dropped forever ago given that they share some of the same themes, but on the whole it should be much lighter than I planned that one to be. Humor can be expected to be present. Twilight may be a demon now, but she's still Purplesmart. Nightmare Moon is genuinely enjoying her newfound freedom. It isn't full-on grimderp, and there's no permadeath stuff planned. As I had said Celestia is getting the Prometheus treatment, so by definition she recovers from everything thrown at her by the next day at the latest. Bad ends are certainly normal, death of characters most certainly won't be.

I like the potions thing, she could certainly be a testbed for that kind of stuff.

Maybe Sombra possesses the Elements of Harmony or Tree of Harmony, but he can't control them at all. They're still active and constantly seeking Bearers to overthrow Sombra's rule. To neutralize those effects, Twilight distills all that Harmonic Energy into liquid rainbow form, then pumps it all into Celestia until she bursts. This has to be done on a monthly basis. (Or maybe even weekly?)

Its extremely tentative, but I'd like to eventually work around to a redemption arc for Twilight with a defeat of Sombra at the end of it. As such I'm not sure where I'm going with the elements yet. They shouldn't be brought up until they become relevant. This is all early stage for that stuff though, so it's subject to change as the narrative demands.

After much frustration with wifi and videos buffering, I've finally finished that series with some blimps. P-235, despite fusing into helium when it undergoes fission and emits P-radiation is a very dense gas, so it does sink readily. This makes a gaseous P-235 canister shell very good for dealing with crowds, when you don't want to blind them with a big bright beautiful mushroom cloud of inflation.

I suppose my drawing mood wasn't quite as good as I thought it was tonight, but I'll still soldier on with the next pic as it's fairly cut and dry for what it is. More fun with P-235 ahead.

I think you're progressing through this part of weird fetishdom faster than I did. And you managed the tongue part a bit better than my attempts (thinking I went too big, like always).

Also I think that was the push I needed to figure out what I should be working on, since I'd been sort of floundering around on it the past few days. Gonna try and get out a sorta comic thing on the blog that introduces a weird inflation assistance device I came up with ages ago into the mix. I say this knowing full well that mentioning I'm doing a thing anywhere paradoxically makes my dumb brain not want to do it on that fact alone, but maybe by also mentioning _that_ it'll help me get over it, because I really fuckin need to.

Aye, looking at the sketches you did way back when the size of the tongues was a little overboard for incorporating them. It's all about finding the right proportions, which is weird to say when it involves turning someone's head into a glorified bouquet of differently-styled cloudbuster balloons. In some cases, with some parts of the anatomy, even in inflation less is more.

Definitely looking forwards to seeing whatever that WIAD is, always fun to find new ways to get pones or gryphs huge. If you want someone to keep hammering that idea in so you don't get the lazy on it, can oblige.

One of the problems I used to have (an I guess still do) when finding new aspects to fetishize was always going way too overboard on it, almost on principle. I guess it does actually function as a sort of exploratory "how much of this thing can I take before boner says no" test, though. Only way I can find my limits is trial by fire, it seems.

Also thanks, I think I'm doing okay this time. Like I'm just now starting to try and break some of my years-old habits that I formed when I was in hiding, that have turned out to probably do more harm than good now that I'm out and about. Like my insistence on never showing a single part of a thing until it's completely totally done, which on larger projects leads to discouragement when I've had several days of hard work put into it and still nothing to show publicly, and in almost all cases ends in abandonment. So I'm gonna try and maybe post WIPs and progress stuff sometimes here and there. For instance, I got the first panel of the comic thing already done.

Granted, I probably won't post EVERY WIP and progress report somewhere like here, since most of it probably won't be relevant to the thread subject, and I'd feel bad for spamming this place with unrelated content, more than I already do about blogposting all the damn time. But I've got some discord friends and communities to bother and maybe get feedback from when I need it.

Octavia's only now realized that she used the wrong milk, and to compound things Vinyl's apparently gone and bought a peculiar brand of granulated sugar as well, both of which currently are mixed in with their tea. This will certainly end well for all involved - or, well, at least the viewing public at home who enjoy watching music mares end up as big squeaky balloons.

My initial idea was for the epilogue scene to happen in Fluttershy's bedroom. That would have put a hard limit on how big she could be in that scene, so I was just planning on not inflating her any bigger than room-sized. But this fine anon >>10682698 got me to consider going bigger, and wondering how to pull it off. So that's why the epilogue's in Discord's home dimension instead, and why I completely threw my self-restraint out the window for the last inflation bit.

Also, my initial plan for the final inflation itself was for Flutters to get her head crammed into a tea kettle, then crash into a water tank (or some other liquid). The spout pierces the side of the tank, and the water pours through the spout to inflate Flutters. But I thought of the waffle setpiece later and liked it even better as the story's climax. By that point, the rest of the story was outlined thoroughly enough, I couldn't rework the tea kettle inflation into any earlier points. So that concept had to go, but I'm still a bit disappointed I didn't get to write it.

The relatively "clinical" aspects of some of my early stuff (here's a pone blowing up in a purple void with no context whatsoever) was actually an intentional departure from my usual methodology of interconnecting EVERYTHING and thinking up some kind of halfway logical reason for everything that happened in my non-fetish works. I may never truly enjoy the whole spectrum of cartoon shenanigans to the degree that our buddy Pablote does, but that was a hell of a trip regardless. Inflations were good, and there's basically fuckall for good flattening writings out there, so I'm pretty overjoyed to see it done well at all. Personally might have enjoyed that bit (on flutters) a little more if she didn't get stretched skinny before even getting fully spread out, staying a massive flat rug for a bit, some multiplicative degree wider than her fattened/inflated body just was. Figure out where stuff such as the Gusty/Bang/Line residence is when it isn't riding atop a gigantic gryphon's plumage, the Ponyville-adjacent airfield where all manner of bombs, rockets, and pegasi with inflationary grenade rifles (and possibly gryphons with inflationary 20mm autocannons) can be found, the house where a government-funded (because he's a good source of amusement for Celestia) mushroom-cloud-loving pegasus inventor blows stuff up from, the scrapyard an irritable earth pony mare runs and supplies him and a diving pegasus with material from, the various lakes and former winter battlefields in the area, and maybe even the river-adjacent paper mill another earth pony lives out of.

Whatever adjacent corner of Ponyville all these things occupy is gonna be pretty dang busy, and big.

I've given my own thoughts to at least making a concrete floorplan for Bangline House, but figured I'd end up either forgetting or finding some other reason to not always stick to it. Though I suppose I could make a running gag of it always being different because they destroy it so often with their ongoing shenanigans.

Never even thought about making a larger area map, though that was when I was on my own, and it was basically just "giant field on the outskirts of Ponyville" anyway. But given that I'm already mentioning and sorta giving my own interpretation of Line and Night Strike's relationship in this silly thing I'm working on, I think we've already passed the point of no return on world merging. Eh, a rough floorplan wouldn't hurt, some things can benefit from having a definite layout - give an example, someone actually managed to create a pretty damn close recreation of the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls in a videogame, purely because the show stayed so accurate as far as the layout of the place was concerned.

Alright, I, Pablote, have dilly-dallied long enough and it's time I put on my serious business hat and give actual feedback.

I was pleasantly surprised at how..."normal" the food factory setting was. Knowing you, I was expecting more along the lines of Evil Expandtress, since setting it in Discord's realm gives you carte blanche to make everything as nonsensical as you could possibly imagine. So I appreciate the restraint, and yet you were still able to get really creative with a lot of the gags.

One big difference between the way you and I write is that you're very detail-oriented, and I was wondering if you were gonna try to do something more fast-paced, or a series of distinct set pieces like your other stuff, since taking the time to describe everything can bog down the pacing of a story. Which is fine in a story where the pretenses don't matter so much and we just wanna embiggen the pone and describe it happening in detail some might call pornographic. In some spots, you did sacrifice detail in favor of simply describing things as they happened, and it read super quick and super easy. Fluttershy scooting along the factory floor smacking her face on every low-hanging thing sticks out in my mind. Other times, you got a little too bogged down obsessively describing stuff. I know that sometimes it can't really be helped, like if you have a technically complex gag with an elaborate setup or with multiple things happening at once. But when Fluttershy is catching lightning jars as they fall, and although you sped along the descriptions to keep the pacing up, you still took the time to describe every jar that falls off, where she catches them, how many of each are on each limb, how she's adjusting her stance to keep them balanced, etc. In stories like these, pacing should take priority over everything. The best of these kinds of slapstick cartoons always strive to be visually interesting and well-animated.

So, there's a certain sort of economy of description that happens. Describe things sufficiently that the audience can picture it in their heads, but quick enough that they're seeing it in their heads in (roughly) real time, as if they were watching it happen in front of them. And you demonstrate wonderful comedic timing here, moreso than in any of your other stories. You have a good instinct for setting up and paying off jokes, so that's something I wouldn't mind seeing more of in your future stuff. You say that you don't enjoy the full bevy of cartoon violence like I do, and yet Fluttershy's muffled screaming face-first in the floor while her flat, stretched-out butt was repeatedly abused was more unf than I can admit without shamefully questioning if I'm some kind of sadistic psycho pervert. I don't know if that's what you meant when you said that, I just felt like that needed to be said.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! I wouldn't mind at all if you wanted to write something like this again. You said yourself, there really isn't any more of this stuff out there.

I think at one point I wanted to set the scene in a sort of Wackyland, because Discord. But I changed it because I agree with the point I think you're getting at, that going too surreal and ignoring logic / cause-and-effect ("It's chaos magic. I don't need to explain shit!") hurts a story like this one. Because the twisted in-universe logic is a huge part of the appeal for me. If inflation is sex, then all the convoluted coincidences that set up the inflation are foreplay. And you can't really get that in a dimension where literally anything can happen for no reason.

By some magnificent stroke of luck, I managed to get this sequence finished before the end of July, so officially the Octavia/Vinyl series has finally concluded on a pleasant note. It doesn't make her look shaded on that side. It doesn't conform to the shape of her body, which is painfully evident in >>10748362 , where it just goes flatly across the curvature of her body, over her inflated leg and hoof on a layer completely separate from everything else. It doesn't even look like it's being projected on her body, it looks like a watermark or something. It looks like you took a pre-made square of a simple pattern and just slapped it somewhere on her body in every sequence with little care or thought.

If you have a way to justify it, like it looks better in motion, or that it is, in fact, a watermark, by all means, tell us. But from the way it looks now, please. Please, please, please get rid of the dots.

Jesus fucking christ, you people. I never said he shouldn't make the animation, I'm just as excited as everyone else. It's just one annoying little nitpick that I knew would be easier to fix now than later. I realize that we're getting this for free, and I realize that CDT's well within his rights to make whatever artistic decisions he wants, and is perfectly free to consider or ignore any critique or feedback he gets. Regarding this whole backlash of the dots, I posted >>10717258 asking what the dots were for, thinking logically that they wouldn't be featured in the final product, to which Ridiculouscake replied with >>10717925 . Alright, I can't keep silent anymore. The "dots look like shit" person is me, Pablote. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to hide behind internet anonymity, I'll own up to this. I'm sorry. I really, really didn't mean what I said as an insult towards CDT or his work. I have a huge amount of respect for CDT, and I love his stuff. When I said "lazily slapped it on" I didn't mean to imply that the whole thing was lazy, poorly put together, or that he isn't busting his ass working on this for our sake, I meant that (at the time) I couldn't ascertain the purpose of the dots, and so there didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason where they were placed.

Now-- I'm not trying to defend what I said. Quite the opposite. There are so many other, better ways I could have brought the issue up, but I didn't take any of those. No, I hadn't read that post about it being a test and him probably not keeping it. If I had, I wouldn't have written that whole thing. I was in a bad mood, the dots annoyed me, and I impulsively wrote a rant with a really hostile tone. I woke up, re-read what I wrote, thinking that it was a lot more angry-sounding than I remember it being when I wrote it. And, of course, a handful of people jumped down my throat in response, so I got defensive. I thought about apologizing more thoroughly then, and owning up to what I said rather than stay anonymous, but I chickened out at the last second.
