I might suggest that rather than forcing those who are not talented in battle to become sub-par trainers, give extra benefits to those who are trainers. Make non-trainers 2nd class citizens but allow them to still focus on what they do best. charmanders are super stupid and dependent until they evolve. They are hard to raise for begginers because they always walk off a bridge or something when the trainer turns around. They're great when raised correctly though. As for getting money you could mow some lawns? Train tickets aren't THAT expensive and i really don't want to go back to kanto.
