I read that. Fancy meeting you here; I figured most writers disappear into the aether. Believe it or not, I write stories myself when I have the free time to do so, though mostly they are about horses. I have been meaning to expand into dogs, and you'll surely never guess the breed I'd specialize in, haha!

Currently, I work on man x mare stuff, some inspired by mlp, though I really don't watch the show so much as enjoy the character archetypes. I wanted to say, for what it's worth from a stranger online, that you did a great job with your story. It is really, really hard for me to find one that just "gels" well with my taste that doesn't insert any nutty (subjective, I know) kinks, while it still goes that extra mile to be fully descriptive and inclusive of the animal side of the female. But when it also includes my favorite breed? Now that's a real treat. You described the Doberman's mound in a way that was not simply anatomical, yet still really showed off the uniqueness of her "dog-ness".

I especially loved the lingerie; the "contrast" thing is something that I really like myself. I include it in a lot of my stories, with mares of soft white furs having an onyx black marehood in contrast, with a needy pink button blinking its intent nestled right in the middle. On top of that, I am a big fan of lingerie in general, and Paige's personality describer her shopping experience for it was great.

I also wanted to say that I appreciate how you described their climax together. Nothing is more frustrating to me than having a long, detailed sex scene and character buildup, only to have the "grand finale" end with only a sentence or two. Having them "save up" was a wonderful combination of both romantic heart-pulling and hot-blooded sexuality that it really left an imprint. That they both love one another is icing on the cake.

So, thank you, for writing it.... and thanks for the recommendations! Here's hoping that you have more man x Doberman bitch plans!

My advice is to simply write.

Just fucking write. Don't correct yourself mid-sentence, mid-paragraph, or even mid-page unless it's a basic grammatical error. Get the general idea and skeleton of what you want done in a stream of consciousness kind of way. Then, when you've gone kaput and ran out of steam for that particular scene, go to the next scene and repeat the process again and again until you have the entirety of your piece written.

Then go back, and from line one, revise everything as best you can. Fix the odd patches that don't seem to make sense, erase what feels unnecessary, and keep working through to the end of what you have. Does it feel incomplete? Plot holes? Scenes could be fleshed out a bit more? Things not properly explained? Write more.

If not, reread your now revised version, and if anything feels weird, fix it as best you can. Keep going until you don't know what you could do better (optional step: have someone else read over it and get their opinion, and revise off of that, based on what criticisms you think are valid), then throw it out into the world and hope for a soft landing.

The main idea here is DO. NOT. STOP. on your first draft. If you let yourself get caught up in searching for the perfect word, phrase/metaphor, or synonym each and every paragraph, you will never get anything done. Ever. You have a finite amount of patience to spend writing, and trying to make your first draft come out perfect will burn out 110% of that patience.

I've heard this method described as the 'bull in a china shop' method of writing and it feels appropriate. Just get SOMETHING written, and clean up afterwards. If you worry about 'this isn't good enough, how do I write it better?' while on page one of the piece you're writing, don't count on making it to page six or seven. You'll delete the very .rtf/.doc(x) file you're working on out of spite long before it nears completion.

RP on 4chan is absolute garbage. The /erp/ thread here makes me want to vomit. F-list is the go-to ERP website for just about any method (chat messenger, PM exchange, forum posts) people could want. F-list is furry based, but since it's also the premier ERP platform, there is also an incredibly healthy non-furry side to it, too.

I personally use F-list to host character profiles while RPing on Furcadia, a chat 'mmo.' As by the name, it's mostly furries, ranging from the rare neko, the entire spectrum of animal people, all the way down to ferals. Some humans though. Quality of the RPs vary, but that's more the nature of roleplaying in general, and little to do with the content or method being used. I just like chat box because you can hammer out a whole smut scene within a few hours instead of over the course of weeks just to get to the good stuff.

I had a whole long post explaining my opinion but my computer shat itself. So here's the tl;dr:
if it goes on for too long, anticipation that the two finally get together goes from excitement to bothersome. The baby steps of progress (which is what the trope makes its money with) are nice, but eventually the couple needs to learn to walk.

In the same vein, the longer things go where both characters are aware but no one is making a move, the more retarded the excuses and methods of keeping them apart become. Two adults are fully capable of having a "Hey, I'm pretty into you" chat. All but the most socially awkward teen (and I mean basically full blown autism here) can blurt out a flustered confession when desperate enough. Missed phone calls and undelivered notes in class work once, maybe twice. But if there ever is a scene where one person admits their feelings and the other party can't hear them for one suspiciously convenient reason or another, you've entered shitty anime territory and may want to reconsider what they fuck you're doing.

Different anon jumping in, compare a series like Spice and Wolf, which is tangentially related to the topic, to that kind of general archetype.

The anime covers the first five books (well, 1-3 and 5). The skip from 4 to 5 becomes obvious in retrospect after reading the original series because 5 is where the will they won't they shit is sorted out. The story then continues for another 13 fucking books with other issues as the main conflict. Whether they'll actually settle down and stay together long term doesn't really get decided until the very end, but all that wishy washy stuff usual to Will They Won't Theys is gone. The two laid all their emotions out by the fifth book and know exactly where they stand with each other after that. Which allows for the story to show them dealing with things like other people's relationships, conflicts in the world, children, Economics, and other people trying to butt into their relationship from the stand point of two people in a committed relationship and lacking any of the drama bullshit they dealt with in the first few books.

It's honestly the most entertaining and compelling steady relationship I've seen in a book, which is fucking annoying because it's a weeb light novel. I feel like there should be better examples of this sort of thing, especially in literature. There's good romances, good stories with characters falling in love, but a story where the MC's are in a committed relationship that's a big part of the story and are over the stupid shit of early romance is rare.
