I don't think there's any kind I don't like, I've been a reptile and amphibian fanatic since I was five. Geckos and frogs are my fave real world animals, but like, anthro, I like dinosaurs, especially chubby long necked variety... a Plesiosaur is nice too.

Most of the races encountered in Thera-2556 are scaly things of some type, but they're more toward mammals than anything else. I think besides humans the most common species is the zichaki and assorted "cousins" who wound up elsewhere some way or another. I almost made them a dominant species to rival the humans, but I decided about halfway through to make them emotional retards that shoot themselves in the foot every century or so.

I'm working on another story that takes place on Tegantu which is inhabited by short, industrious lizardfolk so they obviously crop up a lot. (especially in the parts that have armored warfare where their diminutive stature isn't a handicap)

MHWorld if anything will divide the playerbase between platforms since Sony supposedly now has a hateboner for crossplay. PC could end up being the definitive way to play, but a large chunk of something like /mhg/ would probably end up being stuck on PS4. Have to see how it goes first, though.

Exactly! But also because MH has needed a graphical update for over a decade. The ergonomics is only an understatement. Playing on the 3ds is a problem for anyone that is a veteran of the series.

Hard to agree on this considering the series' stagnancy and insistence on staying on handhelds essentially worked both ways. Sure it didn't really get past 6th-gen console graphics, but they supported the straightforward base gameplay fine for the most part (which surprisingly for a Capcom game wasn't fucked around with for 10+ years) because the hunting environments and their areas are very simple in design.

Considering MHO effectively looks like a pig with lipstick in its effort to use high resolution everything with the classic gameplay and surprisingly worse animation, in terms of graphics MHWorld in a way actually does look like the natural step up for a visual overhaul because it changes how the maps work to support more detailed and complex environments the classic games can't have. But changing the level design also essentially changes how Monster Hunter plays, which of course might just fuck around with things that weren't really that broken to begin with.

That and details like moving around while healing as well have me worried, especially when even the more challenging Frontier does offer moments to commit to using an item safely.

I hope people will get it on PC even if their rig is poor. The MT framework is a great engine and console will only be 30 fps in favor of looking good on a limiting system.

As far as population goes, ps4 will obviously be the most populated on release, but like every monster hunter game all the fad-following japs and weebs will stop playing after a month.
PC will likely have a much smaller population but greater longevity.

Yeah this is pretty nice actually. One of the reasons it looks a bit off is that the colour palette and light/shade contrast is too narrow. ..which makes it perfect for photorealistic styles! ..but then there's a lack of sufficient tissue texturing (particularly on the beak) and fuzzy shading gradients too (not to mention lack of background). It doesn't -need- any of these, mind you, but the discrepancy jars the mind ever so slightly.

Well, I want you to stop using a ruler. Any straight line will have to come from yourself (and it's not going to turn out straight, but that's okay! It's good practice). You're getting to the point where you really should start practicing drawing other stuff than raptors, though..
(I know it sounds weird, but practicing other stuff will actually make you better at drawing raptors. ..Some of the training can only be done properly by forcing oneself away from the comfort zone in certain ways.)

Anyway, alright, you probably want to draw just more raptors hehe: How about a raptor lying with closed eyes, curled up (or partially curled) around a baby raptor protectively.

Hope the game does have an unlocked framerate on PC, Capcom has had a pretty good track record with MT Framework ports.

There's a bunch of other tweaks as well that would make things easier, like how the GS can roll backwards after an attack. But at the end of the day I'm more concerned about the integration of some newer features, especially in regards to environment with how it impacts the length of the hunt if I want to farm the shit out of a monster. But who knows if they want to trim that down or mess about with the existing armor system.

Also have to wonder if World will end up with a small amount of content like Tri, given the total overhaul.

Capcom also has some balls for not going through with another portable game even for Japan's sake, though I suppose that's because XX for Switch hasn't been released yet. Wonder if we'll get word of the game releasing here after Stories comes out, yes it's XX but getting a high rank game yet not its G-Rank release sounds like a dick move.

Don't think the game would ship with G-Rank, considering how it ends up eschewing a fair chunk of high rank content. I'd say how it gets handled will probably depend on how well the game gets received overseas.
