buy a cursed elixir, farm the kreludor defender robot on easy difficulty until you get your 10 item prizes for the day

the elixir does 20 flat damage and heals your pet for the same amount on use so it oneshots the bot and heals your pet to full on the same turn so you can just oneshot it and stay at full hp

Technically, pet choice sort of matters:

>Kyriis get sick with Itchy Scratchies if they eat Apples.
>Quiggles catch Neezles if they eat any Cream item.
>Tonus, those Limited Edition losers, (supposedly, you can make one when the Giant Omelette disappears & on their pet days.) get Neezles if they eat any Negg.
>Skeiths can eat any item, even non-food items, but also catch Neezles, if they eat Cheese.

AFAIK, whether an item counts as Apple/Cheese/Cream/Negg/etc, depends on if that word is in the item name.

Also:

>Grarrls can eat any item, Food or otherwise.
>Kaus become Bloated if they eat any Milk item.
>Pteris become bloated if they eat any Worm item. There's also a Golden Pteri Random Event that only gives you NP if your account has a Pteri
>Jetsams can eat Aquatic Petpets. Maybe Maraquan also, but I'm doubtful.


And of course, there's a wide variety of not only species exclusive clothing, but species exclusive equipment, some better than other; Reliable freezers or high percent healers are available to some pets, but not others, & because they can only be used by that pet, are cheaper.

Lupes, Lennies, & Kacheeks have some good stuff, but I haven't gone over EVERY BD Item.


In the past, Neopets also had exclusive abilities in the BD, as well as different resistances or weaknesses to some match-ups.

So I just fought the Kreludon Security Robot or whatever a few times. Should I auction the red codestones, or save them? Same with the Helm-Mounted Laser Beams and Neocola Tokens.

You could save the Codestones & Tokens, but they're very profitable to sell, even in your shop. At least, Codestones. Neocola Tokens, less so.

The other items, maybe look up on Jelly Neo's &/or NeoCodex's Item Databases.

Red Codestones are needed for training a Level 250 Pet, & it's recommended to grind a pet from Level 120+ to 250+ once it's gotten most/all the worthwhile HP/STR/DEF out of 120 & below it can get.
It's faster to train that way, but if you ain't gonna train that high, don't store.

Keep in mind the supposed upcoming war, though.


If you're wondering, Neocola Tokens are used for gambling for Transmogrification Potions from the Neocola Vending Machine on Neopia's Moon, Kreludor. Maybe some other stuff.

You can hoarde 'em to gamble all in one big attempt or something, but it's not necessarily the best option.
Also, which Red Codestones, how many? I mean, some Reds are worth 30K each or so.

Nah, it's alright. I've found that I get the red codestones pretty consistently, and I wanted a buffer of NP without having to slog through minigames, so I purposefully sold them underpriced on the auction house, until my new account is old enough for a store. Then, I'll start stocking up on red codestones again to sell there.

If I never use defensive items in my daily BD grinds, does it matter if I increase defense?

In other words: Are the STR/DEF multipliers only applied to weapons/armor that you use on a turn, or are they applied to your pet when they are attacking/defending? I think I just answered my own question but I want to make sure.

There are two ways to make money on Neopets in 2017:

>1 - The Legit Way
This involves a multitude of factors that will give you a slow but steady income that include

You will probably get frozen if you're doing this with a new account, but if you manage to unearth your old account over ten years old, TNT pretty much doesn't give a fuck what old accounts do unless you're blatant about it.

if you want a specific brush you'd be best off saving up your earnings and buying one from the trading post or auction house, but darigan paintbrushes can be bought from the hidden tower for 1.4 million

I don't think any of the clothes are gender locked at all so you can dress your pets up as you please.
If you have a gender-specific color like royal or usuki and then fight the mad scientist in the battledome, he can switch your pet's gender without changing their appearance. So you can have a male royal pet with the royalgirl color palette, etc.

Most of the species can be made appealing in fanart, it just depends how much of a degenerate you are. Aisha, Kacheek, Lutari, Bori, Acara, Usul, Gelert are all relatively popular among fanartists.

Why not an Usukiboy Usul being zapped Female? There actually are gender differences for Royal, Usuki, Elderly & Quiguki, & for each of those 4 colours, the different genders are each a different colour.
Mostly it usually changes eye colour, but still.
Female Royalboys, Male Royalgirls, etc.

A Strange Potion is also an option, for about 2 Million NP.


Incidentally, what's everyone's opinion of Unis? I avoid mentioning them because I worry they're "too /mlp/" to be mentioned outside of the pony containment board.

There are technically multi-healer items but they suck dick. The absolute best one only heals 30 HP.

Anything worth using (heals you 100%) is single use or part of a much beefier item, like Wand of the Dark Faerie or Sword of Lameness. Amulet of Life is fine if you want a flat out full heal since it costs like 1000 NP.
