Considering that Judy has basically been wanting Jack's dick this whole time in the fic, I doubt they will consider it rape and more of a drunken/drugged mistake, depending on how the bad guys drug them. The drugging also makes me convinced that the fic will end with Nick learning that, forgiving Judy, and they live happily ever after raising her and Jack's kids.
I am honestly curious of how the author will write this; Jack has been Judy's pseudo-boyfriend for the majority of this fic. She snuggled and nuzzled him while Nick was in prison for false charges, thought about what it would be like to be with him while at Nick's birthday, etc. So I wonder how she will react after the cheating, since she "loves" Nick so much, and how much she will regret being with Jack who she has been twiddling her thumbs going "Oh Jack~" around.
Someone a while ago mentioned that there was a teaser before the fic was posted, and the scene was Judy trying to stop Nick from going to the bad guys. Nick hated her, and Judy offered her neck, going that she couldn't live without him. I just expect Nick not to kill her, leave to join the organization, and for Judy to run into Jack's arms "for comfort".

Mmm, the best way for shadows would be searching for the appropriate colors (i had a nice image about those, but I can't find it).
However one can use a simply Multiply layer (or more than one) and then adjust the intensity.
The effect can be very nice. Clearer edges for clothes and long fur, more "noisy" for short fur and other fuzzy surfaces. Use pen and/or the brush.
I use as example this pic Rose drew, I hope you can forgive me if it is not 100% Zootopia related, but I didn't find a better example. Rose, if it is a problem posting this here, I will delete it.

Actually Mrs. Otterton' head comes a little above Emmitt's shoulder, while it is a little lower compared to Judy's. Also the bun has a bigger, less flat head. This could give a couple of inches over 2'4'' (7% bigger).
However I can't say for sure, there is always some error, especially considering that I don't have images for a direct comparison (curse you, flexible tubes, why always bending?).
This very raw and fast comparison that I made in five minutes makes me believe even more that Judy is a little bigger than a male otter. I used Mrs. Otterton's head as a reference size

However look at the images you posted. Judy is bending forward, both with her head and her back, and she had bent knees.
In the other pic instead Emmitt is standing very straight, and still the other otter reaches his mouth.
I think a better comparison, with similar poses, can be done by pic related. Here you can see that Mrs. Otterton is not much smaller than her husband (at least compared to Judy)

The Nick Wilde comic from them that is about 100 pages long? It covers "in between" scenes of the movie and Nick's thoughts during certain parts. I'd like to play devil's advocate and say that you can technically start with an enormous fic right off the bat if you really want to, just don't be afraid to drop it if you're not improving in the way you want to or it's just not working out.

My first fic was laughably bad, but I made it to almost 40k words before I realized I wasn't going to be able to do it. Funny thing is, my second fic wound up being over 200k, and I did in fact actually carry the project all the way to completion. The last couple chapters are leagues above the first in quality, but I did learn quite a bit writing it, maybe a lot more than you would if you just wrote a couple short greens. I think the only difference between learning through incremental growth and trial by fire is dedication. If you're not afraid to get burned, long fics can teach you far more than small projects, especially in the areas of time management, creating obtainable deadlines, and putting in the work even when you really don't want to.

I think the biggest problem you'll face is fanfiction readers don't often tell you when your shit stinks. You'll learn most of your lessons through a handful of a dozen posts submitted by people you actually know what they're talking about, and you're liable to just dismiss them completely with some things, so you have to be careful and really try to understand what people they're trying to tell you. Personally, I really wish more people told me what I could improve on. I went more than ten chapters before someone finally told me to fucking quit it with the said bookisms. I really wish someone had done that sooner.

This one comes in two parts.

The tasting notes and flavor descriptions on bags of coffee, promising cherry and apple flavors? They're bullshit. The roasters are usually screwing around to some degree. This is the process for coming up with them:

Take what the coffee actually tastes like. Bold with hints of chocolate and fruit. Make it sound more exotic. Striking with chocolatey and citrus notes. Hipster it up. A striking blend of the finest beans, with a flavor profile of cacao nibs, blood orange, and cherry. There you have it.

They're not being malicious or snobby, they're fucking around and having fun. Sometimes they'll just add weird shit, like "wet pool noodle" because they went swimming that day or "Coffee cake" because they ate it with lunch.

Part two.

The founder and former roaster for one of the world's most successful upscale coffee companies said this about the fake tasting notes in his book. If the above is how those happen, this is what management thinks.

This is how a thoroughly honest and nice friend I have who works for a major coffee company as a manager explained why specialty coffee costs so much.
