There is a lot of discussion of the leadership, yeah. While that's definitely one of the bigger topics on the third book there is a lot of politics regarding support with hominid races, supplies for food, which dragons should be assigned as Upholders of a specific place, whom should mate with whom, etc.

The books (I've read this far) have all been good, but the dragon-centric politics doesn't show up much until the third book. Knight isn't very colourful with his language though, for good and bad. But it does allow one to fill in the blanks, if you enjoy that.

The thing is unbelievably durable. Can take a lot more "abuse" than your standard fleshlight.
I say that because I tore through four fleshlights before getting mad enough to buy a bad dragon one.

Totally worth it. Just make sure you use lube, obviously. Has great textures, just be warned that the toy is fairly tight. A lot of guys bitched and moaned on the BD forums that it was too hard to get into. I'm 6" girth and have no problems after getting enough lube in the damn thing.

I dropped the game a couple times before the interest kicked in, but after that it took off. I've been playing it on and off for the past 5 years, man. It is so fucking good when you realize how complex the game gets. And not to mention the fucking LORE.

They furry-bait to hell and back but stop short of doing anything fun or interesting with it, and then go "lol modders will fix! :DDDDD" when every criticism comes up. (remember slavery in Morrowind? One of the most compelling parts of the game) So we got Skyrim with a bunch of forgettable characters in, without a doubt, the coolest motherfucking location in Tamriel with a story that should have been hands-down the best thing we've ever seen. Romance options are basically the biggest selling point as far as "it's an RPG!" goes, Hearthfire should have turned that up to 11 because it was all about cramming The Sims shit into an Elder Scrolls title.

They failed across the board. Every single time somebody says, "oh Skyrim was great!" I shit you not I want to punch them. No words, just a haymaker to the goddamn mouth. After court-ordered anger management I've found coping techniques, but the urge is still there.

Bonus mention: Pic related is one of the best parts of Oblivion and she part of a shitty side quest that was neglected.

every game had its ups and downs. i dont recall much about morrowind other than the combat being janky as fuck.
oblivion had a nice story but if you wanted a "perfect" character the leveling was extremely tedious. you had to manually track every ability level so you knew when to level up for max points. you also had to avoid oblivion gates seemingly forever if you wanted enchants that were worth a shit.
skyrims story is mediocre and it has a lot of problems. the most popular problem i think being theres no alternative to killing paarthurnax other than simply not doing the quest. on the other hand, theres a lot to explore, the combat is much more refined, and leveling is streamlined.

I'm genuinely curious why you need to physically take notes when the game has a built-in journal system that does it for you. They all have. You should be thankful you had what you had in Morrowind because Daggerfall and Arena were a whole different ballgame that would've fucking ruined you. I don't think I've ever had to actually write anything down while playing Morrowind, I just read the dialogue and... Remembered it? I don't get your complaint. On occasion I looked at the journal, but for the most part it's a really straightforward thing.

Difference is you have to actually fucking look for the thing based off of (pretty simple) directions! Sometimes they're nice enough to mark that shit on your map, and then it's a game of hop across the land slaying bug things and flying cocksuckers like the reincarnated demigod you are. Then of course there's always the fun joy of getting lost too, realizing you have no fucking idea where you are and then making the monumental decision to either backtrack or potentially make it all worse. It's a hit or miss, you might find your objective, you might not, but it's fun.

Meanwhile back in every game since that wonderful era, if you turn off the compass you have no motherfucking idea where you are or where you're going because the quests are built around the idea that it exists. Morrowind can benefit from a compass arrow if you actually can't read or something, but I'd take thought-out dialogue and design over the lazy shit that's being shoveled out these days.

My criticism might be harsh, but I'm pretty sure you know I have a point.

So here's what I want you to do: give Daggerfall a shot, and when you get burned out on that go to Morrowind, and then go to Oblivion. Keep in mind of the features, the concepts, the meat and potatoes of what they are at their core. Then compare the level of detail to a modern title like Skyrim, witness the gradual decay as graphics got better and the developers got lazy.

I'm giving you something cute to ease the pain. Watch out for Romans with spears though.

Not really. Even back then when it was fun, cutting-edge stuff it wasn't hard to reach the limits and go, "wow! I wonder what they'll come out with next!" You've gone the other way where games were smaller and less advanced because of technical limitations, every cartridge Legend of Zelda game is laughably tiny these days. What we're talking about is a game that's from 2002 and on the PC, not something from my childhood days in the 80's.

I wasn't that excited for anything besides more people drawing miura but after playing the demo I'm considering getting it, the town building looks like a nice thing to occupy some time and being able to actually play as miura is a plus
