I strongly disagree. I don't want the paint getting jacked up over time because of clip on pieces. I would have NEVER used them if they were clip on.

The reality is matte paint (or coats) are especially fragile and it doesn't take much to cause wear or scratch the coating. This can lead to shiny spots, paint chipping or paint rub/staining. Her price was high and this definitely adds value to justify it.

The only thing that sort of annoys me and I can't believe no one caught or complained about in Japan is the wrist joints being black instead of skin colored. No one gave enough of a shit to complain?

I just paid for her 2 days ago and forgot to change my shipping address after a move to a new apartment. Emailed amiami CS to ask them if they could change it before actually shipping the box. They told me that I'm fucked because they already have my order in the system or something. Thanks for the recommendation, I've gotta say saying the novels are miles better can be seen as faint praise but I understand where you're coming from. I wonder what's 2chan reception on Apocrypha? At least from a visual and writing standpoint it's a clear stepdown from what UFOTABLE was doing (even if I'm not a fan of UBW myself) but popularity-wise it seems to be getting the same kind of love merchandising-wise.
The Fate/Grand Order ova was also very bad...coincidentally, it got an awesome figma too.

Considering it was just a promo of the game, that it only adapted the tutorial mission and that they were limited by the 1 hour duration I think they did a good job. And the animation wasn't Ufotable-tier but was good enough (way better than Apocrypha in that regard, that's for sure).

You should have said that before I bought over 80 figmas, I would have saved a lot of money.

But seriously, a praying face would work way better for Jeanne than a blushing one. For characters like Tamamo including a blushing face makes sense. Even for Shielder would have worked better and they didn't include one. But what Jeanne needed was a smiling face, a battle face and a praying face, the blushing one shouldn't be a priority if you only have three slots. Not saying that Jeanne never gets ashamed, but the praying face represents her character as a whole better.

Certainly, they're both fine designs. I've also been enlightened on the reference to the Red-Crowned Crane of the winning attire - interesting choice for the 'crown' to be on the shoulders rather than the hood. The other option I'd hoped for is probably some variety of swan.

Really, I have no gripes with with winner. It has its animal and snow references, even if it's not too extreme in either. I really enjoyed how the other one wasn't based on a more traditional style of clothing, really seeming like it'd be otherworldly even for the a line as varied as figma.

I'm probably being a bit unfair by virtue of the fact that the winning design doesn't have a non-nendoroid proportioned drawing.
