The Kamehameha never looks natural on S.H. Figuarts. I think it's because of three reasons:

1. The claw hands aren't open enough, the index & middle fingers are supposed to be open a little
2. Figuarts can't lean forward, so they're in this awkward standing straight up pose with their arms forward
3. The arms don't cross enough

I think reason 2 accounts for 90% of the reason why I think it always looks bad.

I don't really even find it all that much more or less useful than the old hips, either. Awakening Goku is probably the best looking of the bunch, but honestly, the sculpt really helps him a lot to hide it.

First, he has the blue "belt" thing tied around him, which hangs down and kinda sorta covers it a little to begin with. Second, his Gi is so roughed up, and has so many tears and bunched up areas that the extra lines for the articulation are barely noticeable.

Its a different story with like, SSJ Vegeta 2.0 and SSJ Trunks. They're supposed to have skin-tight, smooth outfits, but its broken up by the articulation in a weird way with all those cuts and stuff. What bugs me is that the part that comes out of the pelvis is narrow to telescope into the leg which makes the leg looks like it has a weird skinny part. The only other figure where its a non-issue is the new Scouter Vegeta, since he literally has a flap that covers his junk so you don't see any of it.

I mean, its not the MOST terrible thing in the world. but once you start looking at it, it seems a little odd...

You'll definitely want the new Saiyan Saga Vegeta. His is the only compatible head for swapping with your SSJ Vegeta for a normal "current" style Vegeta. Unless you want to take your chance on Majin Vegeta having a normal ver head (very highly doubtful).

I didn't say anything about a shoulder, I was addressing the elbow which looks like it pulled apart in that image.
The top part of the elbow right where the peg is is a cap so it's separate from the joint, you can push that down and then push the whole arm back up into the bicep and the peg should go all the way back in.

If you're having issues with the ball joint of the shoulder you can put some soap on the ball to lube it up basically.

Awakening Goku is a recent figure who's very well crafted and should be easy to find. There's also a couple new Gokus (SS3 and God) coming out soon with a new body that's much better than the old ones. Most of the pre-Awakening figures are pretty bad quality, and hard to find cheap anyway.

SHF Piccolo is an older figure but he's not bad for his age. He's been re-released multiple times and should be pretty cheap.

Like the other anons said, Awakening Goku is probably the ideal starting point. He is cheap as fuck and looks great. The newest Super Saiyan Vegeta is fantastic as well. Piccolo can be found for around 30 bucks and is pretty good for how old he is. Looks great with the crossed arms, though its a bitch to put his cape on.

Goku is announced but that's it so far. You'd probably have to go for old, 5 PO toys if you want the whole cast right now.

Kid Goku releases in like, January or sometime early next year.

Yamcha releases in November or December, but its his early DBZ/Saiyan arc orange Gi, and not his Dragon Ball outfit.

None of the others have releases or even announcements, but you can almost be sure that if Oolong and Puar get released, they're going to be nothing more than little statues along the lines of Chaoutzu/Korin/Saibaman.

As an aside, there were also some comments about this form that has me actually kind of interested.
