Anyone going to Otakon this year? I've never been but I'm going this year. What's the toy scene like there?

>buying their overpriced shit or bootlegs

GSC/Max Factory and Bluefin have booths there, there are various anime store fronts with varying degrees of pricing, either outright scalping or somewhat similar to what you can find online. Do some observation and walk the dealer's room and gauge the pricing before committing to anything.

Not going this year but I have gone the last nine.
Years ago, there were no toys except some TFs. It was all statues and model kits and media. Haven't seen a TF in years (last was Binaltech Alert or purple Galvatron) and media is greatly diminished, mostly replaced by tons of Gundam models and more statues. The last two years finally started having Figuarts and Figmas...but it seemed like alot of leftovers that didn't sell well in Japan. Occasionally you find something older that's interesting. But, I don't know, the art room turned into the main draw for me for a couple years until every other booth there was goth, sameface Marvel/DC/anime/Nintendo guy, or Steven Universe.
It's going to be overwhelmingly statues and bandai stuff with some figma and random stuff thrown in.
