>Toy Story world
>Sora/Donald/Goofy don't look like current toys of them
Missed opportunity for shilling Square.
except they already announced bring arts for these designs of Sora, Donald, and Goofy
>>6422439
They don't look like current toys, period. Seriously, even Woody is a more advanced thing and he's part plush! Fucking hell guys. Who designed this shit?
Are they from Minecraft?
>2017
>liking kingdom hearts
>>6422442
They're supposed to be like bionicles you dipshit
Andy isn't going to have fucking 80 dollar figmas lying around
>>6422462
Except stuff like Marvel Legends still have actual curves and try to hide joints
>>6422462
>They're supposed to be like bionicles
They're failing fucking hard if that's the case, you giant sack of dildos.

It sort of reminds me of the Minimum Collection figure that came with KH2 Final Mix in Japan.
The game design looks like shit, they didn't go for an appealing style that fits the movie. Do they transform and combine or something?
>>6422631
they already look like goofy ass pixar characters in the first place. if their design fit the toy story world, it wouldn't be too different from their regular character models
>>6422609
Ho shit, that's actually kinda cool.
Happy to see them continue the Bring Arts line.
What was that TF2 ripoff where you played as anime action figures? Sora looks exactly like that.
Why are they blocky? I don't remember Toy Story toys being inherently blocky.
Ah yes, the low poly toys of the 90s.
>>6422703
japanese imports from the 90s
>>6422704
Yeah, I had a few Fewture and Xebec imports back then and the only low poly toys I can think of were the Custom Robo model kits, which was a pretty isolated case. It's weird to base their design off of this idea.
its a throwback to ff7, although only sora should get it, don and goof should have had different designs
>>6422730
Those toys didn't look like that at all.
They really should have made Sora's face more cartoony even if they insisted on him being blocky. Just looks kind of mismatched now.
>>6422730
Shouldn't they save that look for Wreck-It Ralph?
>>6422774
>Shouldn't they save that look for Wreck-It Ralph?
nah if we get WiR in KH3, they should be as such;
Sora=Sugar Rush racer
Donald=Nicelander
Goofy=Hero's Duty space marine
>>6422828
That seems like a wasted opportunity since Sora is literally an existing video game character crossing over into a video game world.
>>6422439
Slowpoke, OP.
>>6422609
Neat.
>>6422703
To make it more obvious that they are toys and not just smaller versions of themselves. If they made them look like a PAK figure, most people wouldn't notice that they had been turned into literal toys.
>>6422938
Sora should have been a PAK figure. Donald an a rubber ducky and Goofy a plush.
>>6422439
>>6422442
>>6422462
They're not suppose to look like current toys to begin with. Toy Story world, or at-least Andy's collection is full of homages to 80's and 90's toys. Bionicle? What?
The simple sculpt is reflections toys like Microman or those early days Power Ranger toys. You know, the ones with big cylindrical hinges ignoring any attempt to hide it in the sculpt. The backside is nothing but screws. The molds for toys were just not capable (or economical) to produce high detailing. Buzz is also following the same type of toys, bit nicer since he is a bigger figure, so you could say these three are much more similar to him.
They should be rounder honestly, but I think then they looked less toy-like so we ended up with low-poly looking fellows instead.
>>6422439
In my own room
>own toys of Sora, Donald, Goofy, Buzz, and Rex, vs. Zurg
>Hercules, Stitch and Aladdin join in
>Zurg summons some heartless, then Megatron, Akuma, and Shadow the Hedgehog because why the fuck not
The game
>Sora, Donald, Goofy, Buzz and Woody vs. ???
>no no no you cant bring Aladdin and Hercules here
>"Hey Buzz, want to go to BH6 Land with us?"
>"No, I must stay here"
They're going for a toy look, believe it or not toys today are not trying to look like toys.
I'm actually surprised they aren't more cliche toy-like like a wind up soldier type of deal. Or have different scales from each other as to not make them look like they came from the same set.
>>6423013
I think they had this lets make them 1/1 toys as Bring Arts idea, so they didn't want to deviate too much from the original character designs. Sort of a two birds with one stone approach. This way people wanting regular Sora...which exists, uhh the trio could pick these up when they might pass on a wacky all-out variation of the characters.
I'm having some trouble figuring out what they intend the Bring Arts to be. Are they trying to bring non-toy collecting people in? with those weird fancy photos of the first Sora? With the Toy Story version I can see more photos of them on a study desk, on a bed, peaking out of a car window, etc. Like they are trying to make them look, I don't know fashionable? NieR Automata could go that way too if they want, they look like they came from some model show. It just feels like there is some ulterior motive to the selection and promotion of this toy line. Trying something different is good business I guess. But I fear it makes something like a few FF7 Bring Arts less possible.
>>6422439
Does anyone want toys of these forms?
>>6422439
Honestly I think the designs would have been fine if they only had SOra look like that and then made Goofy and Donald different. HUGE missed oppurtunity to make donald into a squeaky toy getting pissed off at his own voice squeaking now and then.
But I understand why they went this way, they wanted a design they could sell in real toy form.
>>6422439
I thought Sora should've looked like his Bring Arts figure, or at least a slightly shitty Play Arts Kai or something.
In canon, Woody is from the 1940's series Woody's Round Up. So there's no reason Sora couldn't be "Sora from Kingdom Hearts" instead of a no-brand random toy,
But the reason they went with a new design was just so they could sell figures of it. Which is fair I suppose, they already have one in the works
>>6422631
Honestly, I wish they had gone with a design like that instead for Sora. Maybe made Goofy a plushie and Donald a rubber duck or something.
Something that feels more thematic. These designs just look like regular Nomura designs just less busy and with some joints.
I want to get a KH3 Sora figure, not sure whether to go with Bring Arts or PAK tho. Anyone have experience with them both and/or can give me ups and downs and pros and cons of them both compared to each other?
>>6423550
PAK is almost always trash. The limbs are brittle as fuck and snap all the time. It's basically statueshit disguised as a figure.
>>6423022
>Like they are trying to make them look, I don't know fashionable?
I think they're just trying to show that since they're smaller than PAKs you can take them with you. Like all those photos people take of their Nendoroids inside of like a cafe, next to their delicious looking drink? They're saying "Hey maybe you could do this with our toy? Because it's not fucking enormous and out of scale with literally everything?"
>>6423073
>there's no reason Sora couldn't be "Sora from Kingdom Hearts"
I mean, Kingdom Hearts doesn't exist as a fictional entity within its own world. That's a reason.
>>6423645
Yeah, standing next to a cup to show size, maybe but that idea is social suicide especially in Japan. Better get a private booth with your otaku friends then.
I really want to hear the meeting that went down about those photos. For the Toy Story versions I'm prety sure it will be all "looks great in your room" type of photos.
For 2B, hmm, outdoor shots at some abandoned buildings?
>>6423610
so would you say the better detail and paint and alternate parts for the PAK aren't worth it?
>>6423942
same person. Im basing this off of the pics.
>>6423085
>visible screws
What do you guys think of the new Bring Arts Sora? It's just a recolor, but I like the color and the new keyblade.
>>6425984
Looks pretty good. I think I'm content with just the main costume and will probably skip any other Sora figures, since I'm already doubling up on Sora by getting the KH2 Figuarts, but it does look really nice. Really like the new Olympus Coliseum Keyblade.
>>6422439
That's the whole point, you autist. Modern toys are far more articulated and accurate, you might as well just make them look exactly the same but add joint textures to their limbs.
They intentionally made them look like shitty older toys because it makes them look more like. Well. Toys.
>>6426397
>you might as well just make them look exactly the same but add joint textures to their limbs.
at that point just give the original PS2 model joints desu
>>6422439
i... i prefer these.. wish they existed aha
>>6422716
Brave fencer Musashi toys w-when?
>>6423073
>>6422938
Dude I'm pretty sure this anon has the right idea. If they didn't make them blockier and give them screws all over and instead went with something like making them look like PAKs, there wouldn't be enough of a visual difference between their normal and toy forms. It's still noticeable, but only just so. Not to mention, bear in mind they're emulating toys an 8 year old kid would have, not collectors items older people would own.
>>6422938
Alright, but why blocky? Why not simplified paint apps, molding seams and obvious joints?
>>6422965
>no no no you cant bring Aladdin and Hercules here
>"Hey Buzz, want to go to BH6 Land with us?"
>"No, I must stay here"
I really hope this is the game KH gets over this shit. It was one of the biggest things i was looking forward to, and you just can't do it.
>>6426586
Because they felt like it.
>>6426397
>They intentionally made them look like shitty older toys
This argument reminds me of when people act like Minecraft has retro graphics, despite games never having that style of visuals in the past.
ONLY modern toys look like what OP is displaying. Things like Dinsey's Crossy Road trading figures.
>>6422962
Quickly dismisses the fact that their main aesthetic is being blocky, acting like it's a minor flaw, when it's the entire look.
>>6426596
They shouldn't need to emulate any real life toys. They just have to look like plastic and be easily seen as such. Say what you will about the design choice but it gets the job done of looking distinctly like they're kids play things and that is all these designs should do. C'mon, man.
>>6423073
That reminds me, how did the Bring Arts Sora turn out in the end? It seems like a lot of people cancelled their orders when the SHF was announced, but I like the KH3 costume and would love a decent figure of it.
>>6422439
do they look like this the whole game or just this one part?
>>6426610
They change looks depending on what Disney world they enter. They were mermaids in a Little Mermaid segment and Hot Topic kids in a Nightmare Before Christmas level.
>>6426610
This is just their look in the Toy Story world
>>6426603
I've let KH slide enough times in the past.
>>6422444
>2017
>not being a rugged old man waiting to finish the little kid adventure that started 15 years ago when you were still a kid yourself
Whether you like KH or not everyone who's played since the series was still young pretty much accepts that we have to see the ride through to the end.
>>6426628
>2017
>not being a diaper-loving, androgynous, millennial, sissy
Get with the times, grandpa. Video games are for smartphones only.
>>6425984
>Master Form
>Only one Keyblade
???
>>6426673
It's not Master Form, it's Guardian Form.
>>6426586
>Alright, but why blocky? Why not simplified paint apps, molding seams and obvious joints?
Because (and this is going to be difficult to understand) Disney doesn't want representations of their products to look like shit.
>>6426586
Because those things still aren't as obvious and blocked plastic bodies and screws showing in the joints.
Would have been very cool if Sora was a nigh end Japanese collectible figure with Woody recognizing and commenting on that.
Goofy as a plush and Donald as a rubber ducky or some metal ducky with a screw key in the back, as other anons have said, would've been very cool.
>>6423085
Donald kind looks like his Disney Infinity model.
>>6423073
What about one of these?
>>6426549
But they look nothing like kiddie blocky hingey toys. Pic related.
They could have just simplified the designs, played with proportions, given them fugly grip hands, and all the visible joints etc would work. Anyone would recognise this style of action figure.
The problem is, they designed them to resemble nothing people can relate to. Woody is a cowboy plush. Buzz is an electronic plastic space man. Zurg is a version of Vader with firing features. Lotso is a Care Bear.
I have no idea wtf these 3 are supposed to resemble.
should've been a gunpla, rubber duck, and dog toy
>>6428739
They're not supposed to resemble anything specific. They're just supposed to look like toys.
I hate minimates
They suck
>These are great! and cheaper than the figu/bring arts!!!1!
>Pluto (KH ver.) $9.99!!!
>grrr I'll get you Sora, I...um...I'll THROW these at you, yeah
>>6431721
I was gonna say, these might make decent accessory packs for the SHF/BA, especially if they include alternate keyblades with the drive form Soras.
>>6422907
I know I'm being autistic, but these designs are ass.
They should have modeled the in-game characters more like an S.H. Figuarts.
>>6428673
What about it? If they used this, he couldn't tell it was a toy in the game.
>>6431626
Is that Nobody fucking dabbing?
Wew
>>6431853
they are ass. They dont look like toys, they look like robots
>>6431853
Andy's toys are a collection of things he had as a child in the 90's and early 2000's. He wouldn't have Figuarts, or Bring Arts, or any late 2000's to present import toys. They wouldn't fit in any better than they would if they just showed up without even pretending to be toys.
There's also the fact that Figuarts and the like aim to make their figures look as close to the actual character as possible for the most part. It defeats the purpose of even making them toys if you make Sora a toy that's trying as hard as it can to not look like a toy.
I'm not saying their Toy Story appearances are perfect or anything but they make a lot more sense than Figuarts or Bring Arts would.
>>6428917
> they're not meant to look any existing toys
> they're supposed to look like toys
logic failure windows is shutting down
>>6433046
They're supposed to look generically like something that could be a toy
Not a specific brand or type of toy
You knew exactly what the fuck I meant
>TFW no King Mickey Robo
