I'm hoping that they're there with him. I've looked at these grey proto shots for too long.
Also Bridge Watcher needs to hurry up and get in stock.

>>6420731
Agreed, I cannot wait for thia guy!
>>6420764
So far from the 2 Chinese reviews I watched, the only thing I don't really like about him is how is gun arm doesn't tuck away cleanly in alt mode.
Still think he looks great, though.
>>6420734
Both of these look way better than the retail versions.
>>6420801
Whats different about the one on the left?
>>6420821
It is an awful lot for what you get. I don't regret my purchase, but Ravage may just be my favorite character. I just wish he tabbed together slightly more solidly.
did anybody get comera or echara? they look ok-ish and i am starved for deluxe sized fembots
>>6420830
They are piles of steaming shit
>>6420817
I meant Terraegis and Calidus.
>>6420830
They're not very good at all, just avoid'em.
Is a ridiculous blue dinosaur worth dropping 200 bucks on?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-BgPNGhsvI
Hamhands McGee has a review for Not-Grotusque, if you can stomach him.
>>6420845
Oh sorry I misunderstood.
>>6420851
Yes. Especially if you don't have a different version.
If I had the extra $$$ I would do it. I have the original G2 Grimlock I could put him next to.
But I wanted all my Dinobots to match, so I bought the regular one.
>>6420830
I really do like their look, but from what I've seen they're got some fiddly transformations, and a whole heap of not very good looking parts in both dino and robot mode.
You'd really only want to bother getting them if you cannot pass up a fembot. And even then it should take some convincing to get you to buy one.
>>6420852
I plunked in the cash for the three of them direct from Fans Hobby. Megatooth and Fei Long are on their way, and Flypro will ship when he's ready.
>>6420873
My Feilong is sitting in a loot pile right now, waiting on some TR Deluxes to come in, but I'll be nabbing Flypro myself just to complete the set and for the extras they're packing with him.
>>6420851
Imagine how rad it will look next to this guy and I think you know the answer.
>>6420830
>deluxe sized
They're more like Voyagers with the rest of the team.
Also, they just aren't very good. Transformation is really lazy and leaves a lot of kibble in ways that don't even add any visual interest to the figure like some kibble can. The one exception to that is the dino hands acting as shoulder armor but in order to do that, you have to partsform them off of the wrists where they originally came from so it's kind of moot.
Honestly, I blame them for why the line fell to shit like it did. Seems they diverted resources and planning from the Swoop, Grimlock, and Snarl to shit them out in the middle and the other three suffered for it. Worse yet is because of how much they flopped and how quiet FP has been lately, there's half a chance that these ladies may have killed the whole line before Snarl could come out to round off the essential members. They're just bad toys and I'm kind of mad that they exist. The line started off so strong too with Sludge and Slag....
>>6420893
That looks sweet. Is it any good? Never bought from fans hobby
>>6420903
He's awesome. Fans Hobby makes a good product. I don't recall ever seeing any complaints about their stuff other than transformations being a little simple.
>>6420909
Love me a simple transformation, as long as it looks good, so that's definitely not an issue. Thanks!
>>6420895
oh well thanks people. that's a definite hard pass
This new Springer looks bitching, especially if its under 80 bucks
>>6420821
Only if they fixed the hip rockets. The fins are attached by the smallest bit of plastic and break like you wouldn't believe. Ruins the whole figure too.
Looks like an OSKO of CW Superion is coming. Looks improved, too. Possibly WeiJiang?
This is probably crazy late to ask--
But is a there a decent version of Sqweeks, third party or otherwise, that doesn't look as blocky as the Hasbro version?
>>6421142
>under 80 bucks
I'm listening now
>>6421255
That's zetatoys original take. It just looks like shit.
Wei jang OC 12" megs
Purpleberry Rodimus looks great, but I also kind of hate the character as he's written in Lost Light.
To splurge or not to splurge...
>>6421264
Nope, this is what Zeta looks like. Note the dedicated elbow.
>>6420716
Springer probably misses his glasses.
>tfw got one before they ran out
>>6421261
Wrong thread. But your best bet is probably the standard Hasbro deluxe. No good affordable options exist other wise.
>>6421255
Definitely a G1fied KO of the CW version. Interesting. Wonder if they will do others. Menasor would be interesting.
>>6421304
Nice, be very careful when transforming his legs
>>6421334
Is... Is that thunderclash from fucking tarn?
>>6421335
Yep. Seriously impressive remolding work right there.
>>6421262
afaik its only rumours now but if it is then rip my wallet

BULKHEAD
>>6421334
Alt
>>6421369
Happy that this exists. Weirdly though all 3 versions of this mold would have benefitted from stumpier legs.
>>6421369
Have they fixed this fucker's shoulder clearance yet? Keeping me from getting Titanika.
>>6421379
Why are people so desperate to get extreme shoulder articulation out of a fat, bulky fucker? Stop being retarded.
>>6421342
Why is MMC all up in the retool game now?
>>6421384
These look great. They remind me of those Custom Robots figures but they actually transform.
>>6421384
>Generation 2.0
You mean they have alt modes now??
>>6421356
you have no idea how fucking I dig that
>>6421384
Praise Jesus!
X-Transbots Cosmos is cute af, but I'd never ever ever buy one of their figures without seeing final reviews.
>>6421384
>when a legends sized 3P toy looks better than an incomming masterpiece official toy
JUST
When is the panel senpai?
>>6421382
Oh okay, I guess Mastermade doesn't know what they're doing then. Idiot.
>>6421384
>>6421390
Welp.
>>6421384
>>6421390
>>6420716
God damn, if they'd fix the face I'd be cool with picking this up.
>>6421255
>only 3P combiner that looks good is one that has to knock off the HasTak version
>>6421388
Cheaper for them and they get a bunch more milage out of designs. I wouldn't mind if they fit fairly well or done well enough, but not at the cost of compromising the original figure its supposed to be. They've done it terribly and done it well. Bulkhead was a good choice for the Roadbuster mold but you can see the execution is shitty compared to Titanika. Thunderclash from Tarn looks rad as fuck but now I have to wonder if it compromised Tarn a little bit given how inaccurate and underwhelming his alt mode is.
>>6421440
face looks fine imo, but I do hope there's some swappable ones
>>6421369
4P belly add on when?
Oh shit niggers.
Also Magnus apparently. Is this the FOC design or the WFC Game design?
>>6421418
4 Canuck time. So 2.5 hours.
>>6421453
>FOC designs
I can't believe people actually like that garbage aesthetic. At least Planet X is faithful to the ugliness though.
>>6421453
Something about FOC Megatron's body is super gross and porny, haha it's not the toy's fault but I hate it.
>>6421405
>all these G1 Cosmos despite the fact that G1 Cosmos looks like shit
>we will never get an adorable IDW Cosmos
G1 wank ruins everything.
>>6421461
megatron's head is so fucking small jesus christ
other than that though I think the design is passable, still prefer the G1 version though
>>6421335
>>6421334
not that bad of a choice for a retool but the feet still need to be smaller.
>>6421255
I hope they're compatible with the Hasbro versions. I'd be glad if we finally get a good torso for the Hasbro Stunticons and a better CW Prime.
>>6421255
Benscollectables said they're by the same guys as the OS Classics OP.
Looks like there's a shiny premium Planet X Vulcun on the way in the event that you missed him and don't care about him not matching the other dinobots.
>>6421456
FoC, he was his own bot though, he didn't form around a optimus design.
How does tf con work, is this all the new stuff or will there be reveals throughout the weekend?
>>6421539
Yup that design is different though, resembles primes wfc design. Having looked it up, that new figure doesn't look all that accurate to the foc game model.
>>6421424
>crying over lack of extreme shoulder articulation, especially on a bulky robot
>>6421447
Hopefully never. Fatbots getout
>>6421548
>pointing forward is "extreme articulation"
>>6421388
Even 3P's are getting into the retool game now. Look at Fanshobby. Out of their releases so far, 2 are retools.
>>6421390
How big is it supposed to be?
>>6421526
Fuck, are they gonna re-release the basic version too? I wanted him but missed him, but I don't want a version slathered in fucking paint all over like that, it's as bad as Takara releases.
>>6421537
There's a 3P new product panel in about 2 hours.
>>6421574
My roboner can hardly be contained until then.
>>6421537
Basically:
>dealer room reveals to start. We are here.
>TFcon third party panel in the afternoon
>more dealer room reveals as the panel ends
>hotel room showcases with potentially more shit and rumors
>some more dealer room reveals maybe on sunday
That's usually how it works.
>>6421266
Btw Wei Jang table has kfc blaster for $15
>>6421554
>arms can't point forward
Are
>>6421554
>arms can't point forward
you
>>6421554
>arms can't point forward
retarded?
>>6421639
You're trying too hard to defend mediocre shoulder articulation, anon. Now go for 45 degrees outwards, I won't be waiting though.
>>6421654
That's not what you said. You (essentially) said the arms can't move forward. The arms can move forward, and so do your goal posts.
>>6421369
Don't get me wrong, the retool makes perfect sense and all, but I'm still kinda disappointed to see it be a retool and not its own mold. Bulkhead was up there on my list of characters I wanted to see a 3rd party try a neo-G1 attempt at just because of the interesting things they could have done with him. This works but feels a little bland after seeing that mold twice already. Not to mention the gun is kinda disappointing. Would have been nice to see them incorporate a bigger boomstick for him instead of a skinny rifle with a tripod.
>>6421659
You knew exactly what I was talking about when bringing up faults with the figure. Last one anon, swearsies, get Strika pointing like Optimus. Up, out, and straight!
>>6421664
>Most Transformers don't even have 45 degree outward movement
What shitty figures have you been buying? Can't name a single quality 3P figure in recent memory that can't manage that.
>>6421382
For that mold, it actually has pretty good shoulder articulation, the problem is that the shoulders will basically ram right up tot he backpack. The figure does a heck of a lot to help you get your poses, the mold can easily hit almost any pose you want, but you end up feeling like you really had to work for it, which of course hinders the fun factor.
>>6421665
No, you said "pointing forward". Stop moving goalposts.
This kind of shoulder articulation is more than sufficient, especially for a bulky character. Cry moar.
>>6421670
>claiming moving goalposts when he can't even do it
Thanks for proving my point, anon. Some of us really value posability and this, coupled with the fuckery to get the hip rotation working, hampers that.
>>6421356
Sideswipe... sunstreaker... my wallet
>>6421673
I proved your first point wrong. I'm not interested in playing this game with you. Basic articulation confirmed, get over yourself.
>>6421654
now shut the fuck up you dildo
>>6421635
They had to take the shoulder armor off to be able to pull that pose off. Are you sure you want to use that as an example?
>>6421684
>That backpack clipping restricting any sort of upward/downward motion
Thanks, anon.
>>6421670
He's a faggot for moving goalposts, but you're a faggot for "muh acceptable articulation for fatties". No, the only acceptable articulation is an even match for every other 'bot. It's entirely possible to engineer figures so they have a full range of articulation no matter the body type. That kind of failure should be a mark against the figure.
Shit like "Oh uh it's acceptable because it's a fat fuck" is why a lot of reviewers suck ass and aren't critical at all, they just gobble up whatever falls in front of them as long as it doesn't fall apart. Consumers need to learn to always demand more and better, because if they don't, they'll end up eating garbage.
>>6421685
The same pose was achieved here >>6421639, so I doubt anything was removed and he made no mention of that in his post.
>>6421689
I never said the articulation was perfect, or that it had a wide range of it. I simply proved him wrong at every complaint he had. Is it limited? Restricted? Sure. But it's not a massive deal. Basic articulation can be achieved, plus a bit more. For a bulky robot, that's good enough.
And reviewers suck ass because they're shills. Only a moron would care about what a video review has to say.
>>6421639
Hey, someone saved my pic.
I agree, you can get more range out of the shoulders than people give it credit for, but that doesn't change the fact that its still a pain in the ass. The clearances are super tight and the shoulder armor will constantly make the back pack come unplugged.
I havnt touched mine since I took those pictures because its such a point to pose, and I passed on roadbuster for the same reason. Besides the fans hobby version looks like it scales better with voyager figures anyways.
>>6421688
>it doesn't count because it's not the way I want it!
>>6421694
>For a bulky robot, that's good enough.
No such thing as "good enough". Ask for more. Strive for better. C'mon Anon, the only way shit will ever be better is by demanding more.
$15 at tfcon
>$15 at tfcon
>>6421694
>so I doubt anything was removed
Dude, the picture is right there, you can look at it and see that the shoulder was removed.
You like Titanika, and thats cool, but that doesn't mean you cant admit that it has problems.
>>6421698
>Besides the fans hobby version
Yeah, I'm waiting for FATBUSTAH myself. I like the looks of the MMC, but the shoulder clearance thing is a definite turnoff. Shame MMC has been so hit and miss lately. I LOVE most of their stuff. The vast majority of my 3P stuff is MMC. Their Predaking is fantastic, etc.
Just ever singe Jaegerwhatever, their line has been REALLY hit and miss. They need to re-evaluate themselves.
>>6421707
Not that anon, but I can't really tell if the shoulder was removed from that picture or not.
I do know that she can point forward, though. She has a lot of issues with the shoulders, but they did engineer it to let you move them around. It's just a huge fucking hassle.
>>6421698
>I havnt touched mine since I took those pictures because its such a point to pose
Yo, this so much, even one shitty joint can fuck up an otherwise great figure. MMC's spartan is fun as hell, but the shoulders on the black repaint are incredibly limited. It's a blast to pose spartan around, while commotus is just kind of frustrating so I rarely pull him off the shelf.
Anything to know about this mold before i attempt a transformation?
>>6421715
Since you're so down on Commotus, you could just sell him to someone like me that's looking for one.
>>6421715
>but the shoulders on the black repaint are incredibly limited.
I had the same issue, but then I realized that you just have to make sure the cut joints in the shoulder armor are lined up properly before rotating. Still kind of a pain, but no where near the level of Titanika.
>>6421635
I just pulled mine off the shelf for the first time in line 9 months and while it can get kinda close to this pose, its pretty obvious that it was removed for this photo. >>6421635
If he had the shoulder armor on, you would be able to see it for sure, I mean come on, its not like its inconspicuous.
>any 3P related video
>always see shit like pic related in the comments
What the fuck are these people doing watching videos on this stuff when this is their opinion of it? It's like going to watch a fucking horror movie and bitching that you fucking hate horror movies and they should all be canned. Why are you even here?
Uuuuugghhh
nuh-nah
nuh-nah
>>6421733
Release date when?
>>6421369
Fuuuuuuuuck, this'll be hard to pass on.
>>6421733
Is this not an old pic?
I thought they were going to make the vehicle mode better.
Still on board because muh orange robots
>>6421334
>>6421374
Well this is a pleasant surprise. I was totally expecting a Roller retool from Kultur but this is even better.
I never noticed before how similar Thunderclash is to Roller and Tarn before now.
>>6421732
Pfft I can just feel the poorfag bitterness radiating off that comment.
>>6421729
>hmmm, i wonder what he means by lining those up
>like this? ok yeah i already do this and it's not great, I wonder if he means lik-
>SNAP
We had some good times, me and commotus, and that's what I'll try to remember him by.
>>6421766
Thunderclash is literally Roller with canons. Huh. I never noticed either. Well, now we can probably see exactly what's happening here. Tarn as the primary mold, Thunder as the remold, and Roller as some con exclusive.
>>6420893
I have never gone so quickly from
>holy shit, this exists?
>holy shit, it's awesome
>holy shit, I need it.
>holy shit, it's available
>fuckin' bought
It's an amazing feeling.
>>6421374
I wasn't big on Tarn due to his cannon-arm blocking half the shit he tried to pull off. Hopefully they fix it with this fella 'cause he looks pretty sick. Not big on the Disney-sized feet but whatever.
>>6421335
now the inaccurate vehicle mode makes a lot more sense
>>6421615
What do they have at their table for sale?
>>6421775
Wh-wh...Bu...H...HOW? HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DO THIS ANON?
>>6421785
Fucking kek at all the people saying tge vehicle mode was perfectly accurate and that mmc knew what they were doing.
Oh they knew what they were doing alright.

>>6421781
I honestly thought this version of the mold would be boring as fuck since the black Scourge repaint was what everyone was hyping, but I'm vastly preferring this deco at a level I didn't think possible. I guess that's what some paint and good color contrast on the accents will do to a figure. I'm still trying to swing him in my budget.

Thanks m8.

>>6422009
If I were them, I'd make it Diaclone compatible. You wouldn't get proper sized Joes, but it would be perfect tie-in material and open the door for other companies to do TF vs GI Joe stuff at that size.
>>6422010
C+ made a Defensor and Victorion upgrade set that added new torso bits along with hands and feet. Those kits replaced almost the entire torso bot, so I think thy're just making a totally new figure.
>>6422025
>>6422029
Actually its DX9 but they're the same guys so whatevs
>>6422005
Hope they do an optional Rook. I just fucking hate how off the bike looks on Defensor, every fucking time.
Xtransbots time.
>>6422026
Yeah, I was really hoping for a a revised cannon mount. It'd only need a couple millimeters to fix the arm clearance issues, hell, somebody on shapeways could maybe do it.
>>6422010
That's actually a very good question given X2 Toys has mostly done add-on kits in the past. While a new CW-compatible Onslaught would be cool, would it be worth it?
>>6422037
Xtransbots
In before that stupid mother fucker complains about MUH SHIN GUARDS. They're calf guards now just like G1. And just like G1, it looks like crap.
>>6422037

>>6422037
Xtransbots
No fucking way this thing turns into that torso, legs and arms without some extra parts forming. If you want G1, I guess this is your thing though. But can Xtransbots deliver a solid combiner given that they can barely get a solid scout class toy to not shatter horribly?
>>6421967
Fuck, these are gonna be MP scale, aren't they?
Like, part of me doesn't care because they're different enough that they'll get their own display section anyway but part of me just prefers smaller bots for shelf space, price, and there's just something inherently more charming about toy sized toys instead of having to have a bunch of 10-12" behemoths.
Fuck, I'm still gonna be buying all of them, aren't I?
>>6421877
What would the new head be? Would it be more accurate, or would it just be damaged?
>>6422037
Xtransbots.
>>6422038
The cannon mount really really should have been addressed before selling that figure and the mask for me is an annoyance but passable. Still was really hoping both those things would have been addressed by now but no they're too busy shitting out repaints.
How big is the MAAS toys stuff? Might finally be a good CHUG-scale Starscream if it's in that scale. Surprised they managed to make the Tetrajet look so good too.
>>6422052
More comic accurate head that didn't look so retarded and with eyes that were visible instead of black holes.
SATAN
>>6422052
Common things requested were:
New accurate head. Both for glitch and the mask with eyes you can actually see.
A new cannon to be accurate and also not bump into the shoulder
New arms to avoid the cannon problem and beef him up proportion wise
Also nickel and the Pet, but I guess The pet is his own release now.
>MP scale
>MP Scale
>MP SCALE!
Fuck I am tired of this.
I want toys to be fun to play with and mess around with. Sure I like display pieces but not everything needs to be giant and delicate.
>>6422058
Dedlock
Carlock
Must be the mold they're going to use for drift. They're going to make you buy it 3 times though.
>>6422065
Gcreations with the sixshot, but now we know how big it is.
>>6422037
No wonder why they're $40 a pop. This is fucking laughable.
New company Rising Force. Also doing stunticons.
Year of the Stunticons. Bobo must be dying right now.
>>6422037
That render looks fucked. The calfguardbots are like 3/4 the size of the armbots
>>6422058
Bumble is tiny and maybe just a hair above scout sized. Pipes looks cool though.
>>6421987
I'm really digging these. I very much dislike the Beast Wars organic look, but more robotic animals are fine by me.
I like the MMC tape line.
>>6422088
But which is Furor and which is Tremor?
The drills are on motorized things that spin themselves. I guess theres a chest led too.
Blades from GT
>>6422090
The end of arguments, or the beginning of hostilities.
Streetwise from GT

SHOTS FIRED
Phew, a group is making a better Cyclonus than X Transbots, I can rest easy now and put off buying it. Was so close to pulling the trigger.
>>6422115
>>6422120
Yes, but that group is also Fans Toys. They still haven't released their first Perfect Fusion offering.
>>6422123
>Cap is right
>AGAIN
>>6422112
I like the upper legs, they look like those you'd see on a Brave robot.
So for the Iron Factroy Bruticus, do they ALL have the ab crunch, or is it just the arm-bots?
>>6422156
Disgusting. At least it's only XTB/KFC going down this super accurate to horrible cartoon art road so no big loss.
Did Maketoys not show anything?
>>6422092
>G2 Devy
Took'em long enough. Whens this coming out? Price?
>>6422166
Part of me is mad 'cause I got the green & purple one wanting the yellow/black. I never realized G2 is actually yellow/purple, and am now relieved.
>>6422156
>KFC
time for a good laugh
I gotta say this TFcon has been pretty disappointing so far. No surprises at all.
Kinda disappointing panel.
Nothing really said 'wow' to me.
>>6422170
Never Googled G2 Devy before? Honestly, he's one of the few G2's that I think looks better than the G1, if only because I've NEVER seen green construction vehicles IRL, only yellow. Fits the whole "robots in disguise" thing a lot better.
I'm actually torn about which to get now though. I've been mulling over these for a while. If this is a G2 box set at a reduced price, I'll probably hop on it.
>>6422172
>No surprises at all
Fucking animal G1 'bots is not a surprise? What fucking marvelous candy land do you live in, Anon?
>>6422172
>No surprises at all.
Generation Toy making the G1 beast modes from some Japanese art book is pretty surprising. Other than that it has been very boring.
>>6422175
Fuck, forgot my pic.
>>6422175
Nope, never did, just occasionally saw a yellow version of Devastator and thought he'd be yellow & black to go with real construction colors. Yellow/purple just clashes visually and isn't my cup.
>>6421967
Wowowow, can't believe I'll actually be able to own a zoids-y feline Hotrod. Really hope to see horse Jazz and wolf Wheeljack as well.
>>6422034
Dammit dx9 I like what your selling but he's too big!
>>6422172
Heard it's because the market has gotten so fucking competitive that they're not even bothering showing most of what they got until it's ready for preorder. MMC didn't even show off a fifth of what they got coming.
>>6422092
Oh thank god. I want this figure badly, but didn't want yet another green Devy to replace once FT's/official comes out and fits my collection better. This fits my one-off side collection much better.
>>6422176
>>6422172
>>6422173
Really was par the course. Everyone dumped their Stunticons. I expected a lot more from MMC's DJD, tho the sparkeater is nice. Maketoys not even bothering with the panel was disappointing. Fansproject and Mech Ideas being radio silent is slightly distressing.
The biggest surprise is GT's T-formers Animal line and its fucking great.
How is Fans Toys about reissues? I have to track down Sovereign now that they've finally shown their Cyclonus.
>>6422196
>Fansproject
Everyone is thinking FP is dead in the water, and who knows, they might finally be.
>>6422196
Actually wait. I forgot.
Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are likely going to be my dive into Iron Factory.
What's a good release of theirs to get a taste of the little line?
>>6422206
Any of the phase sixers. Overlord, Black Shadow, or Sixshot are all great. Scorponok/Black Zarak is also really good.
>>6422206
>What's a good release of theirs to get a taste of the little line?
Depends who you like.
Just gonna post my most wanted beastbots
>>6421980
Transformers x Zoids is good.
I really hope GT only does the ones that could logically transform without much mass shifting.
>>6422064
I've only been following 3P stuff for about 5 or 6 years, but MP seems to have always been their targeted market. Like, the whole reason 3P took off was because they were making MP scale toys of characters it would take forever for Takara to get to, or that they probably wouldn't do at all.
If you want stuff that's fun to fiddle with, why not just buy retail stuff from Hasbro/Takara. Titans Return has been pretty damn fun. And it seems like there are more than a handful of neat legends-scale 3P bots.
>>6422206
IF's seekers are pretty great. The jet mode isn't perfect but it's one of the better IF alt modes.
>>6422232
>the whole reason 3P took off was because

and pic related. Beast formers are so under appreciated, and I these designs are great, original, and won't be at risk of Hasbro/Takara replacement
>>6422244
false. 3rd party took off because of FP City Commander, and it was shit.
>>6422232
No man, Devastator Classics scale. That was THE scale, it only became MP focused after the new scale hit and Takara started doing characters like Sideswipe that it clicked that MP was THE scale
>>6422248
I normally hate the way TF mechanical beast forms look, because they're stuck in that 80's blocky style most of the time, but these designs always looked super nice. I want mecha beasts that are sleek and dynamic, not blocks with legs.
>>6422249
City Commander was one of the first, but the Devys were the big thing
>>6422276
Steelcore is one of their best regarded figures. If they fostered their own brand of figures from the begining instead of going the TF ip route, they could have their own sustainable market in China.
I would have loved a line of original hot-blooded YUUSHA anime styled robots.
>>6422232
It was for a variety of reasons. It began with Fansproject's upgrades for Alternators Prime and Classics Cliffjumper. Back in 200-09, no one believed they could get away with full figure releases, but could at least make upgrades to existing ones. TFClube released a Battle Rollar, which was clearly deriivative of a Transformers toy, but was still unique enough to be its own thing. It was the original release of these guys that rocked the 3p world. They were the first instance of fans pushing their legal luck with toy that were clearly Hasbro IP designed in copyright hell, aka China.
When these guys were a smash hit, then >>6422244 happened in a very distinct style. When people saw there was a market for huge figures that cost almost 100 smackers to fill holes in collections, tons of people popped up. Still, no one thought they could make Transformers figures without tons of stylization. Then Mastermind Creations made their toys based on Hearts of steel, which were very faithful recreations of designs that never got toys. Many upgrades and stylized figures would be released regularly, like the PE cassettebots, Fansproject Springer, and a bunch more would follow.
I'm not of the history from there. I think the first unironic MP-alike figure that aimed for that scale and aesthetic was Quakewave, but the market was full of iGears, Mech ideas, Microblazes, and tons of others that clogged the market beyond recognition. Really, I think the desire to fill the MP market is kinda gutting the market. The Dinobot Wars meant there were lots of options, but we know they'll have official replacements, and we also know how fickle collectors can be. I think we need to go back to the stylish designs of before, relying less on Hasbro ip and more on unique designs. I'd love to see original transforming robot figures that are just themselves like >>6422285 said.
>>6422290
TL;DR, it started with Fansproject upgrades, their Springer and Combaticons pushed the limits, TFC v Maketoys began combiners, and the rest is history.
>>6422301
Man, I remember the box art for that Roller was fucking sex, but the actual figure looks like ass.
new >>6422311

>They were the first instance of fans pushing their legal luck with toy that were clearly Hasbro IP designed in copyright hell, aka China
>pushing legal luck
>in China
More like, first instance of anyone with money stepping up to the plate. IP law doesn't exist in China in any way, shape, or form that is enforceable in the slightest. All this took was someone with a bunch of money to pay for shit to be made.
>Powermaster jets!!

Goddamn fucking monkey's paw....

I can make MP-sized IDW Cyclonus with it. Lulz.
I love that the IDW headsculpt is basically perfect. And I like the G1 one as well.
>>6422092

UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH JUST fuck my wallet up....
>>6422096
>>6422112
Blades has a nice "classic flair to him but the arm kibble is a little gross. Streetwise actually looks pretty nice. Still, there's one thing both of these figures have a problem with and that's HOLY FUCK LOOK AT THOSE HUGE HANDS.
>>6422005
Combined mode does look pretty nice though. Hopefully they can find a way to extend the arms a bit more or pull a similar trick to Gravity Builder's arms because that pick alone looks like there isn't much for elbow articulation. Grrove also looks a little weird. Guess we'll just have to see when they have some color shots of the whole team and size comparisons before I consider replacing my MT Gaurdia on my CHUG shelf.
>>6422075
>$40 a pop
I mean that's still almost worth it just for some cheap thrills and a dumb fun goofy big robot. As long as it's not fragile as fuck and holds together reasonably well in combined mode, that's kind of tempting for something to decorate my cube at work with.
>>6422092
Finally that fits to pose with a Little Sister
