Finally was able to pick up Link DX a couple days ago. Great figure, but I have some qualms with it:

The shield, how it ends up pushing the scabbards away from the back when stored on Link's back doesn't make for the sturdiest connection. Also have been experiencing a bit of paint scratching on a few edges and raised parts, expected it but still annoying nonetheless.

Otherwise, love this figure, pic related is how I love to mess around with him and he's definitely in the running for one of my favorite figures of 2017.

I've resorted to supergluing the shield onto the scabbard.

Before anyone gives me shit over it Most of you know I shoot outdoors a lot so it means I always buy two Links so one serves as a "stunt double" of sorts which also helps for lost/broken accessories.

I did it on the Skyward Sword one after I was posing on a rock and it fell over, knocking the shield off the scabbard and I lost part of the handle.

Never again.

I know they were trying to replicate this hand, where he's idly tossing his Pokeball. But it only works if the ball is in the air. RBGY Red as a Champion is the more iconic look to me, with the FRLG design I always just think of him as a trainer, thanks to the remakes being the first real remakes in the series, and exposure in Smash Bros. I do hope we get that classic look one day.

That said, red always had that "unaging boy prodigy" trope from animé where he looked the same in all his cameos until Sun and Moon. even in HG/SS he looks like his FRLG look. Just pair him with some D-arts figures.

I am just a passerby and a casual Pokemon player but I can weigh in.
Lucario has a color scheme that I find pretty ugly, it has stupid dreadlocks, out of place spikes on his hands, flesh shorts, and it is dark and mysterious.
Not exactly the worst Pokemon but it reminds me of something I would have drawn as a 13 year old.
The shilling and furry appeal don't help but they don't really bother me either.

They almost never do reissues timed to match new games, because they're too busy using that factory space to make the new amiibo for said game. If they see that demand has spiked for an older figure/figures after the fact, they'll sometimes plop out a new batch when there's a lull in the release schedule, but for all intents and purposes, assume that Callie and Marie won't get reissued. So it is just incompetence. Here's a list of things that are wrong compared to every piece of art and the ingame model
-head too small
-hair too wide
-face altogether is wrong
-forearm to upper arm length ratio (including the hand, the forearms are ridiculously short)
-tunic too tight
-torso/chest/shoulders too thin horizontally
-body too long vertically
-legs too long
-feet too small

These are objective, the sculpt is wrong and even some of the casuals can see it. If you can't, you really just don't understand the character's proportions.

I would change the perspective of the art and line it up to show you but if you can't already see it with the no close to no perspective views seen here, why even bother?

Just got back from Target. They're on their "fuck it, clearance everything!" kick. World of Nintendo was hit in this tidal wave of red stickers, thankfully.

The 3" stuff was $1.74, I picked up 8-bit Toad finally for that. Saw running Marios, Nooks, Bob-Ombs, yellow, blue, and red Yoshi, blue and red Pikmin, squids of every color, Bokoblin, Villager, Peach, 8-bit star Luigi...

Figma TP Link came in this week. Finally got around to opening and messing with him. I really like him. Big improvement over SS Link. Especially the way the swords work.

Well it really all depends on if they want a Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic. They're not necessarily smoking grass if they want a figma or figuarts, they just want a modern sonic with proper proportions. The Nendo Sonic has great classic Sonic proportions, but has the modern design, so ultimately it ends up looking wrong. Personally, I'd love to get a decent Modern Sonic figma/figuart, and an Eggman to go with it.

I still can never imagine a Figma there. The only figma was similar proportions is Ted, but Ted doesn't have tiny spindly legs and arms like Sonic does. I don't see it happening.

Same with Figuarts. I can't recall a single poseable figure that has limbs like Sonic does.

I already suggested the Nendoroid is perfect; if it looks off still because of the mix of Modern design with Classic proportions, my suggestion would be to release another Sonic nendoroid with the Classic look.

As far as a Modern Sonic figure, I could give less of a fuck because I'm 28 years old and only like good Sonic games.

I personally feel that Vulcanlog's new Game.Classics line would be the best place for an articulated Sonic rather than Figma or Figuarts.
I mean, their upcoming Arthur figure shows they can do small thin limbed figures. Not only that but I feel Revoltech joints would be better for Sonic, because the joints are sturdy, meaning they aren't as likely to break from being so small. The ratcheted joints mean they wouldn't get loose either.
I mean, Vulcanlog is making a figure of Beat from JSR too so that means it's very possible.

You're both full of shit. The nendo sonic is SD modern sonic, and is not classic sonic proportions. for one, the hands are too goddamn big.
I grew up with the genesis too, so don't give me that crap. Sonic 2 was my most played game as a kid.

Basically best bet is the Jazwares 5 inch for modern OR classic if you want actually accurate proportions unlike the Nendo people have deluded themselves into thinking is a perfect classic Sonic.

Just make sure if you're going for modern make sure you get the one with open hands. it has improved sculpt and articulation over the closed fist one.
As of right now for modern style Sonic, it's pretty objectively the best choice.

Why not just hollow the damn quills out and make them also revo-joint compatible, it's not that hard. You make a hollow cone, a plug for the end with a revo-joint hole, and it's only, what, 6-7 quills you have to do it for. Rest of Sonic's head should be hollow as well for the eye-swap gimmick and/or faceplate swappage. As to the noodle-arms/legs, shouldn't be terrible.
