So here's the bootleg Spidey I got. Pretty much what I expected.

Bootleg on the left, real one on the right.

The bootleg didn't have as good of an overall paintjob, with some kind of sloppy paint, especially on the head, but the leg did bend slightly more. The pizza also is this almost sticky rubber feeling material which was weird. The neck joint feels like it's a super cheap plastic, but everything else feels alright.

I'd recommend getting it if you can't get a normal one for normal price.

Well they resolicited Steve Rogers Super Soldier in this month's Previews Catalog so I'd assume it's a reissue and they'll reissue figures with high demand.

I liked that Nova series a lot but it makes me wonder if it means Rich is trapped outside the shield with Sam and all the other spaceworthy characters

On that note, Chinese Ares came in for me. Bootleg pieces on the left, genuine BAF pieces on the right. The plastic is shinier than the official release, but beyond that there are very few real differences, I'm very pleased. The sword got a little bent in the shipping and I haven't had time to heat it up yet, but the official piece is made of a similarly rubbery plastic, so I can't hold it against it.

Biggest discrepancy is clearly the face, with the stubble being kinda slopped on there and the finer details being different. I was never wild about the BAF face in the first place, and he'll be wearing the helmet anyway. Some shades of plastic are slightly off compared to the original, but the differences in color between pieces on the figure itself aren't as noticeable in real life as in pictures.

Most of all, he FEELS right. All the joints feel good, the plastic feels comparable to regular MLs, he's fun to pose. Zero complaints. Absolutely recommended, as long as you don't mind buying loose bootlegs from Chinese sellers. Sure beats the price for the real thing at comparable quality, though!

It occurred to me that, duh, they're doing Ares because of Wonder Woman (even though it's the "wrong" Ares), but I hope they do other BAFs too, anyway. Give me a Blob or a Mojo next. Maybe Puck!

Holland has a serious case of babyface that makes him look 12 even though he's like 20, so it's pretty easy to translate into a "chibi" anime style.

The Novas we have now are pretty good, but I'd love figures in this style. Sam's uniform especially looks pretty good. The red accents and new chest highlights add some visual flair that his look has been missing.

It's from a pre-ML toybiz 2 pack of Cyclops and dark Phoenix that is pretty hard to find. The same jacket is also available in a old MvC 2 pack that is very expensive.


The quality is extremely good. Even has elastic in the sleeve cuffs. Much nicer than anything you find anymore outside of maybe some of new Mezco stuff. Mindblowingly well made for its age

That was just a rumor started by someone on another board who wanted a Hulk BAF and it kinda just blossomed into a "leak." The initial leak came from the same person who successfully leaked other waves last year. Due to his/her success rate, I'd say it's safe to assume Executioner is still the BAF.

I'll admit though, a Gladiator Hulk BAF would be really cool.

Yeah the Vulture figure is great. I really love the design, especially the airman jacket in place of the tufts on the original vulture costume. I kind of hate the backpack though. It's floppy and doesn't have quite the articulation I was hoping for. Also it pegs in at a weird spot on his back so you can't get arched back flying poses. I wonder if any third party companies with ever do a better version of the jetpack..

Anyways, I just sold my vulture BAF on ebay. Made a great profit off of it too, seeing as I only paid $7.00 a figure for the whole wave.

Homemade spidey suit is the secret best figure in the wave though.

I'm amazed, with pretty much all the Hickman characters being available in ML form, that they haven't done a proper black-suit Hyperion.

That being said, I'm surprised myself even Death's Head II got a figure. He's probably more-so obscure, and despite having the same writers as the people who boasted cosmic marvel, it's a strange choice.
One of my favorite figures/characters in marvel even though people kinda hated that this figure was even included.
Glad to have both these guys on my shelves.

Funny enough my "bootleg" Pizza Spidey arrived yesterday as well. He's pretty much indistinguishable from an actual legend, other than that his pizza slice is very rubbery and sticky (which I dunno if the genuine one is). His chest joint is also rather loose, but that happens with ML's I open sometimes too. Strange, but it's kinda cool to have one for $20 shipped until such a time I can get a "proper" one.

So, has anyone attempted to get forward movement on the movie Winter Soldier's feet? I think that if I trimmed the part in front of the disk that holds the foot to the leg (see poor photo, I couldn't get my phone to focus that close) I could maybe get a bit of forward rotation. Has anyone attempted anything like this? Am I crazy?

The figure isn't that great anyway so fucking it up isn't the worst thing. This is more of an experiment for experimentation's sake

They're cool, but I can already see how terrible they'd be as MLs. Dagger is definitely gonna be a cheapo repainted blank body with no sculpted details on her at all, and it will look awful. Personally, looking at them both, they both have their pros and cons (this is all just my opinion from looking at them)

The Toybiz one has some obvious cooler details like posable hands, a base, and some cool little details like the wood sticking out of his back, but I really like the Hasbro head better, with the bigger eyes and skinnier, longer trunk, and just a much bulkier look overall. Yes it is, but it requires very careful boiling or some kind of heating to pop the limbs out successfully and you do run the risk of damaging the limb joints so do it at your own risk.

Hey /mg/. Been stoked about this wave since it was announced (I love all of these characters except OML), finally ordered the whole case and they came today. I don't think I've ever seen so many fused joints, loose gummy joints and general QC issues since the last of the Toy Biz days.

One of Warlock's arms is just completely fused at the shoulder, same with one of Polaris' ankles. And one of Dazzler's. I gently put a razor in the joint and moved it around with Warlock, but no luck.

Right now, I'm trying the old "freezer trick" and have already tried hot water. Any other suggestions?

Iron Man is a release whore and Megaman X's luster is limited because of recent releases in other lines. Of the guys shown officially, more of the Marvel guys are "usual guys" but the way Ultron looks in-game is amazing so he might be cool. Capcom side has a chance at least for standing out. Man-Thing was traditionally drawn to be a big, bulky creature, not quite Hulk-size but quite big and thick-bodied. The new one looks pretty close to that, honestly.

Jesus Christ Mezco, why would the classic punisher be an exclusive and not like thunderbolts punisher, or some version of punisher only a limited amount of people care about.

Looks like 4" scale
and there are so many toys of both of those characters already, toys made in better scale (assuming it is 4" scale) and higher quality.
