I'm going to be honest here maybe some of you will understand this but when you guys post comparisons of figures you are inciting a flame in the minds of some old collectors.

Believe it or not when premium colors first started releasing they got A LOT of flak. The premiums were in a way competing with the originals. Autist were proud that they hoarded up or spent their money on figures that were inflated in price. I'm talking about the original Vegeta, Goku, Trunks, and other figures. The inflation of price brought upon a feeling of accomplishment and pride for these collectors.

In a way the 2.0 releases are still as insulting to these people as the premium colors were. The new releases devalue the over inflated original figures in the eyes of old and new fags alike and make their owners feel insecure about their collection they accumulated with neetbucks.

So please if you will post comparisons or reference the old figures do not reply to these type of collectors who comment on your comparisons. They will always hate the premiums and the remasters and they are not baiting they are generally upset their originals are no longer interesting to us.

I spent yesterday evening talking to a friend who just came back from Japan where he attended Tamashii World Tour Osaka. He had the opportunity to talk with some representative and got a few interesting informations. Sorry if some things aren't clear, English isn't my primary language so if you want me to try to explain something better, do not hesitate to ask.

- They have a new body type they're contemplating testing on some future DB releases but the early figures would look completely out of place next to these "3.0". It would also make the figures a little more expensive. Even if they don't end up testing it on DB figures, they will definitely test it in the coming months on some other S.H.Figuarts subline(s).

- The representative didn't say it was planned or anything but he did say that "bigger accessories like vehicles would be cool". (Should we assume the Figurise Mechanics subline is doing well?)

- The guy in charge of the DB subline is pretty enthusiastic about it. So enthusiastic than he (and his team I guess) often propose stuff that (sadly) can't get made or are delayed due to people not spending enough money on the line. The line isn't doing bad but they could release a figure a month if it was doing even better. Figures could also get a little better, for example, God Goku could have kept his slimer body but since they don't think it'll sell "that well", they switched for a regular body they'll be able to re-use on various figures which reduces the cost.

- The best selling figures are the "classics" characters. Apparently, recent characters from Super aren't really sought after by adult collectors in comparison to the old ones. The representative said that there's little overlapping between DB(Z) and Super fans, one of the biggest reason is Super having an overall younger audience which (obviously) doesn't buy a lot.

- Kinda related to the last tidbit, my friend who likes the Whis' outfits for Goku and Vegeta a lot asked specifically about possible 2.0 versions for these. The guy said that new SS Blue weren't out of the question but the way he phrased it made my friend thinks that he was probably talking about regular outfits SSB Goku and Vegeta.

- Finally, not S.H.Figuarts related and it didn't come directly from the representative but my friend heard from other people at the event that they heard from another rep the day before that D.D.Panoramation DB figures were being discussed.

Its widely considered a dissapointment and anyone whos buying import figures would probably spend their cash on characters with a better source material. I said this shit when people thought the DBZ line was dead like 5 years ago: If your main character isn't fucking accessible, new collectors aren't going to buy the supporting cast. The first SS Goku sold the fuck out and was reaching the same price, and what do you know: as soon as re-issues and SDCC recolors started happening, the line gained momentum. Lo and behold, I was 1000% right and now the community is huge. It's almost like nerds who don't know shit about business and marketing actually have more aptitude for it than people who make this sort of thing their entire career.

I'll buy the fuck out of Beerus, Whis, Gold Frieza, and Blue Vegeta, but I'm not doing it if fucking Goku is missing because Banda doesn't understand this concept. Toy collectors are autistic about completion, or at the very least having THE MAIN CHARACTER.

Goku, Piccolo and Gohan all sold out at some point yet the line was still selling so bad they almost canned it. A figure selling out and skyrocketting on the secondary market doesn't mean anything unless you take into consideration how old the figure is/how long it took to sell out and how many were made (and of course you don't have access to that kind of information).

Other than Cell, most Figure-rise model kits do not scale well with SHF line. Although scaled at 1/12, they're inconsistent, even within the Figure-rise line kits among themselves. For example, the Androids are 15.5 cm tall, but Trunks & Vegeta are like 14.5 cm. Be sure to check user pics before getting one to mix with SHF.
BTW, Figure-rise (aka budget) Krillin & base Goku just started pre-order today.

I really couldn't give two shits less about characters like Jiren and Toppo. Most of the characters outside of U6 and U7 are obviously just fodder. They just look so boring.

I suppose if they really started pumping out figures for DBS, I'd get Black, Zamasu, Merged Zamasu, SSB Vegeto for sure.

I'd probably get Hit and Frost if they made them, and likely get Vados and Champa.

I'd have to see how they look and what they come with and the price if they made characters like Cauli and Cabba.

I'd probably buy the robot GoD before most of the other Super characters.

I hope that the reason SSG Goku's gi is the wrong color is because they intend to release each new Goku with gi differences. This way we get different options.

I've been going since 2006. The last two years prices in Figuarts and Figma have been retail. You just have to wade through a trillion statutes and wall scrolls. Also it helps to be thin enough to fit into the stands. The don't keep them on outer walls because of theft.

Otakon has steadily reduced the diversity of merchandise sold too. Almost everybody has the same statues taking up half of their space. So it's really easy to miss good stuff unless you pay closer attention to every shop.
