Anyone heard of these?
They're so adorable and I'm looking into starting a collection

They're called Sylvian Families. They're made by Epoch. There's tons of knockoff brands in burgerland you can get in places like Target, but the standard shops like hlj and amiami have them. Mandarake also has their accessories and such often.
>>
>>6340780
On the back of the box I had it had the Hasbro logo (memory is foggy, might not actually be it)
Would that be a knockoff?
>>
>>6340776
>>6340780
In the US they're called Calico Critters and can be found at Toys R Us and various retailers. They're distributed by International Playthings but they're the same as the Epoch line apart from some availability. Tomy was distributor in the 1980's and they lost the Sylvanian Families trademark in North America, so they rebranded them as Calico Critters.
>>
>>6340783
They've been distributed by various companies outside of Japsn but Hasbro's never been one of them. Are you sure it wasn't Flair?
>>
>>6340809
I think it was the epoch logo since they're both kinda similar and I got a quick glance.

/toy/ have known these Silvannias Families figs for a time, the accessories sets can be used with nendoroids and cu-poches, in some cases they work with figures in 1/12 scale too

These guys are really cute but quite pricey IMO. If they weren't I'd have so many, especially cats.
>>6340780
Is this b8? Calico Critters isn't a knockoff, it's just what they're called in the US because of trademark bullshit.
>>
>>6341673
No, I've seen something similar that isn't calico critters OR sylvian families.
>>
>>6340805
That's good to know! We sell these where I work and they're super cute. They go by Calico Critters here.

Definitely keep an eye on sales with these to lower the high cost; at one point during the holidays one of the cottages ended up going down to about $20 when it was $40 or $50, and sometimes we have buy 1 get 1 a percentage off sale with a rewards card.

There also used to be similar Maple Town figures in the 80s and early 90s based on the anime of the same name. Those were sold under Tonka. Recently I've also seen a line very similar to Calico Critters called Li'l Woodzeez at Target.

I saw a set of 2 babby hamsters with accessories and they went from 13 CAD to 7

I'm so sad I left it on the shelf because I regret it now and almost instantly became obsessed
>>
>>6341748
Woodzeez have nice little shops but I still prefer SF/CC sets

Pic related is so cute
>>
>>6341758
Is that one extra fuzzy? my heart
>>
why are they so expensive? for only a few of them here in canadia they're upwards of 30 dollars everywhere I've seen.

Woodzeez are made by the Japanese company Battat, possibly better known for their toy dinosaurs. They're not bad toys but the flocking seems to be more prone to rubbing off and they all look like seriously obese Calico Critters.
>>
I have a little father and baby deer, made the dad some cowboy clothes and was going to take pictures of him on a trip to Texas last year, never did. I love these little guys though, if they weren't so expensive I'd love to own some playsets.
>>
>>6340776
Are most male collectors on this thread guys with families? It seems like that is the only justification for collecting Sylvania families.

Has anyone tracked down the giant 24 inch+ bunny that is mainly for shop displays?
>>
>>6342314
I'm buying furnitures and just making the dollhouse myself desu
Still expensive but I think customizing gives me more flexibility
>>
>>6342348

B-but they're cute
>>
>>6342348
I buy them mostly for my niece but couldn't pass-up buying a family of pigs and a hot-dog cart.

Discovered those recently and bought some for my very first Cu-Poche. They're pricey but also adorable so i think I'll try to buy more when I have the money. It also helps that they aren't available in the "normal" toys distributtion here where I live.

those are awesome anon! didi you make those?
Also, they remember me of that north corean propaganda cartoon with the lady fox.

>>6342452
I'd love to try to do that one day.
How is it going anon, do you have any pics?

Also, I was thinking about getting a labrador, a baby rabbit and mod them to make my own Sam & Max figures.

do you guys think it would work?
>>
>>6342454
buying cute items or female figures is totally gay. Straight men buy male action figures with big muscles.
>>
I ran into these at a gattachpon place, it was a Sylvanian Families pastries shop accessories set (Tragically, I didn't get the bunny shaped bread). They're actually nicely sized for figmas.

Britbong here, my sister used to love these things. We actually used to play with them together. They were awesome and ridiculously well made but they were pretty expensive (like £15 for a family of 4 back in 2005, so probably even more expensive now). They were comfy as fuck though.

Also, without them we would be bereft of Forest Fr1ends.

Can you or someone post photos of a GI Joe using the furniture? I want to see if I can really use it for a joe room/house

I've got a bunch of Li'l Woodzeez and a few Calico Critters playsets, I'll see about getting some 1/18 related photos tomorrow.

The furniture works to some extent, the problem is that the seats have short legs and wide bases due to how the furry figures sit in a L-configuration. The accessories are oversized for 1/18 I believe.
>>
>>6350188
As for the houses, I know Shady War on instagram uses them for his backdrops, they are about the right size.
>>
>>6350194
>Shady War
It's Shady War before knoe like ShadyStation or a nametag like that?
>>
>>6341973
To make them seem like less of a toy and more of a colectors item is the impression I got.
