Let's share and talk about our collections!
here is mine. Big fan of both Transformers and Star Wars. Most of my Star Wars stuff is from the 90s.
nice! here are my Tfs.

>>6283260
Just some of my Gundam MSIA collection I have at my apartment. I have three giant shelves worth of MSIA stuff including the big items like the Byg Zam, Bigro, and two Gun Perrys, at my family's house.
I also have Gunpla on the shelf below these and some Mega Bloks on my book shelf.
Might as well bump the thread with an old pic. Currently rearranging everything in my room, so i have nothing recent.
>>6283363
nice man. damn that devastator is huge. ever think of getting into Masterpieces?
>>6283260
Where'd you get that shelf? Is it a detolf? I'd love it in white. Awesome display though.
>>6283682
yeah love those. have an mp ultraining magnus and recently ordered mp ironhide.
also put devy next to all the smaller cons to make him look even bigger
>>6283738

that's ultra magnus of course
>>6283685
it's called a Coaster display shelf and they do have it in white ! if you can't find it online let me know

You collection always makes me want to go through my collection and get my figures into cool poses...but then I realize how lazy I am and I don't bother.
>>6286748
Also interested to see what the other drawers like this look like.
I really only collect TFs anymore.
A few are in boxes, MP Tracks, G2 Sideswipe, THS Convoy.
>>6286748

Is that the Wei Jang Commander?
>>6286827
Thanks, I try to keep things on the same shelf at least semi related.
The squid was from Hobby Lobby. Got about a year and half ago.

is that top shelf mostly MP? i just got optimus and i love it. kicked in nostagia overload and i was super impressed with him. ordered sideswipe and love it. but i ordered some china knock off for the trailer. got it today and it's such shit quality.
the top shelf looks like other MPs i've been eyeballing. mostly have just been collecting figma/revo/figuarts shit so i'm clueless to the TF shit and the generals are too much arguing
>>6290873
The whole top shelf is MP.
If anything, I got the taste of the line. Magnus, Prime, Datsun, Lambo, Bee, Van, and Megs.
>>6287368
I like how you have a nice mix of high and low end. You don''t limit yourself or play company war bullshit, I like that.
>>6291016

lol
Thanks. I'm actually probably going to get variations of what you have. Never was a fan of Megatron as a villain or design. Wish they'd do some Decipticon cars.
>>6291161
There's Loudpedal and Exhaust for Decepticon cars, Tigertrack has no insignia.so you can make him a Con if you like.

>>6293853

Micro machine blind bags. I get them from Target and Walgreens.
>>6293939

>>6293664
Inside the boxes are sorted too, with baggies and whatnot. Anything like imports isn't going into storage though and gets packed in tissue paper.
>>6293730
It's probably too much though I have the room and even just packing it up for storage make me enjoy it more. It'll be pretty fun to unload it all eventually.
The new place has an unfinished basement that exits out into the backyard. It might be a while before I can get around to finishing it (maybe a year) but I can make it the perfect set up that I want.
>>6294291
That's pretty cool anon. I like the shelves too. Where'd you get those?
>>6288279
oh my god that lich king
>>6294314
thanks anon, most people don't usually like the way I have it set up, but in all honesty the picture really doesn't do the shelving justice.
anyhow, all four shelf units were from Ikea.
>>6294291
Why do you have multiple copies of Ys collectors editions?
>>6294331
I have quite a few multiples of different games. When my fiance moved in we combined our collections. Also at one point I had a fascination about supporting niche titles; had disposable income at the time so money wasn't an issue.

It's growing at a decent pace as I tend to buy one figure a month, pretty soon I'll need a proper display case.
>>6295956
Seeing displays like these always make me wish I wasn't the multi-shelf hoarder I am today.
Good on you anon, keep it classy.
>>6296058
I really need to stop displaying my lesser figures so I look like less of a multi shelf hoarder, just keep out the nicer figures and put the rest in a box or sell them or something.

So do any of you play with your toys?
Or are these just really sad museums?
>>6299563
Posing them technically is playing, so yeah I'm pretty sure everyone here does.
>>6299563
>So do any of you play with your toys?
>Or are these just really sad museums?
I play with my MSIA and 1/6 (didn't post pics of these because I don't have any saved, but it's mostly kitbashes) once in awhile.
I've been planning for a while to put together a big terrain table for my MSIA to do like a war game type of thing (Gundam MSIA are ~1/160 scale, plenty of model train stuff around this scale) but I've been busy with college the last few years.
The majority of the time though is spent posing on the shelf or kitbashing new 1/6 stuff when I have time. I mostly use toys as a brainstorming tool that I fidget with.
>>6299563
OP here:
very sad museums. except some of my older Hasbro transformers I give to my son to play with
>>6299563
I usually pull some stuff down and mess with it off and on while I am using the computer in my office.
I don't sit around making zoomy noises or whatever.
>>6299557

>>6294309
I've always loved unpacking. It's like a weird version of Christmas. Make sure to show us your basement when you get it all fixed up! Sounds like a neat comfy space.
>>6294719
Thanks! He looks rad. I've never watched the series but they seem to have some neat character designs.
>>6300242
Agreed. Action figures make good fidgety toys.
I also have a couple figma figures but I haven't found a spot for them yet.
>>6300969
Will do on the basement, though there's been a setback as the person interested in our current home backed out. Oh well, there will be others.
Can't buy until we sell.
>>6293848

>>6285569
nice stuff dude
>>6286748
even your drawer is cool
>>6301325
If this is the basement you're working with, I envy you.
I'm currently using a converted garage as my display room. It's bigger than most of the rooms in my house, but I've quickly run out of display space and I REALLY need like 2 or 3 more shelves to display my stuff properly...
I may get around to posting my collection later. It's such a clusterfuck, though, that it's sorta embarassing at this point.
>>6302365
Yeah, that'll be the space, my current plan is computer area near the window, TV and couch area in front of the door area, and display area in the space on the right.
I'll need to build fake walls around the outside though the unseen wall just off left is already drywall.
>>6302400
Nice man, congrats. Consider me officially jealous of your potential setup. Hopefully, you fix up that ceiling and don't leave it unfinished. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people post their collections in their basements, and the ceiling looks like shit.
>>6302497
Yeah, I want to cover the ceiling for sure. I'm not sure if I'll try to cover it with Drywall or some sort of bead board or do a drop ceiling so I can access it if I need to fire wiring etc.
>>6302501
Can't offer any suggestions since, like I said, I don't have a basement yet, just a converted garage.
I do admire you though. I'd love to have a basement so I could have more space to display my toys, and also have a place to build a home gym.
Ah...one can dream...
Keep us posted on your progress dude!
I have too many toys, but I must say I enjoy nearly all of them.

Dragon Ball World Collectable Figures
They really went all out with Frieza fan service recently.
Getting overcrowded, might need a third bookcase soon. Or get cabinets, dusting this shit is a nightmare
>>6303474
Great poses, awesome collection. +1 to someone else who displays Bionicles and also has higher dollar things.
Have you considered white shelves before? I prefer white to black at the end of the day, but to each his own
>>6302558
It helps that Frieza is one of the few multiform characters where ALL his forms look cool. I mean, who wants Semi-perfect Cell or Evil buu?
>>6304933
Bionicles are just as big an influence on me as everything else, they deserve a spot in the display.
I'm against white shelving cause it wouldn't look good against the white walls. Dust is probably less apparent on white though

the TIE Defender I got for $170 back in 1998 or so when I was in high school. i saved up my money working on weekends and won it in a big on eBay in the early days of the internet. I'd sneak out of class to go to the library to use the computers there to monitor my bids.

How's Space Ghost? Saw in another thread he was pretty poor, but I was thinking of picking him up and wanted a second opinion.
>>6312555
Wait for the Mezco one.
>>6312566
Thanks homie
>>6312555
I think that's actually the old Mezco Space Ghost, it's a different Space Ghost figure than the one that's pointed out to be crappy in the other thread. If that's the case, I like it, I own it but it also hasn't aged well since the material has turned sticky but it's got a nice sculpt and back then, it was one of the few US figures with a ball jointed neck, so that he can look up, to make flying poses look more convincing. He also came with his talk show desk.

Well, OP, I think your collection looks cool and I think you have excellent taste in Transformers. As with most collectors (myself included), the shelves are a little on the crowded side and the poses are a little dull. Never been a fan of Starwars, so I can't really comment on that.
Two questions:
1) What's all that crap that looks like it's just been thrown on the floor on the bottom right of your pic?
2) I've seen you post this collection a few times (maybe even on TFW, I don't remember). I've always wanted to know what kind of shelf that was because it looks pretty cool. And how much is it?
Overall, I'd say it's a solid 7/10.
>>6293730
Jealous poorfag detected
>>6312861
Thanks man for your input. helps a lot.
1) crap on bottom is older stuff I want to sell. I don't have any where else to store them. I leave them there because my 4 year old likes to play with them sometimes
2) the shelf is awesome. wish it was wider though it's called a Coaster display shelf. comes in white or black. cheap too. Google it and if you can't find it let me know
>>6312966
>Letting your 4-year-old play with City Commander
You are a brave man, my friend. I have a 3-year-old, and I'd never trust her that much!
Also, I looked around for that Coaster display shelf, and the only thing I found was a listing on Amazon for the white version that's $350. I'd be interested in the black version, but looking at the shelf, I'm worried it may be too big for the space where I was going to put it.
Still a slick looking shelf though.
Pleb coming through.

Definitely looking into investing into risers. Just haven't gotten around to it. The deathstroke is from the DC Collectibles Arrow series.
>>6313432
Very true, but just look at all the empty space above the figures. That just looks unappealing. He could probably consolidate that entire collection into one bookshelf with proper use of risers.
>look at everyone's nice, spaced out displays
>look back at my clusterfuck of a collection

>>6313988
He realizes it's a problem. I wanna see how far down the rabbit hole he's gone. If it's not too bad, maybe some anon giving advice will make him change his ways. If its just a room full empty boxes and a pile of transformers in the corner, wemay be able to convince him to quit his toxic hoarding (and get him to sell shit cheap)
>>6313467
Consider replacing your shelves with either white or black shelves, you can get the cheap ones. Then you can purchase white or black foam core and use that to make risers. $10 for foam core, $30 a shelf (I would suggest 2) and you would be amazed at how much better you can enjoy your collection, friend.

would you prefer that he be a weebshit hoarding NEET with shelves full of waifu material that would make his parents disown him?
>>6322822
It would be my birthday wish come true, dweeb.
>>6314446
How are those Code Geass figures? I really just want Lelouch and Lancelot but I've heard some horror stories about the flimsiness of that Lancelot and the Lulu is going for some crazy prices
>>6322758
Where are the clear stand for your metroids?
>>6322351
It's okay anon, I'd rather tell you what I know so you can make an informed decision.
Honestly, the Mafex troopers are my 'stand there and look good' figures of the bunch. Their knees are quite weak so they don't hold action poses so good, and the ankle joints have loosened over time which doesn't help. Probably the most annoying aspect of the figures is the shoulder pads, Medicom has a bad habit of attaching shoulder pads to the upper torso section, so whenever you move the arms out pads flare out which looks bad. The head and neck are also quite limiting to what you can achieve when posing.
I know I've just told you a bunch of reasons why you shouldn't get them but I still enjoy having them in my collection, they have a good height without looking like skinny anime characters (Revoltech) and they can stand next to Vader without being dwarfed (Figuarts). If you can get them cheap like I did, you should definitely pick up one or two, just don't expect crazy poses.
Also, is this the photo you're referring to?
>>6322923
That's the one! And thanks for the advice, I'll give it some thought. I don't have a Star Wars display currently so I'm not all that tempted by "stand there and look good" Troopers at the moment. And the torso-shoulder-pad thing is definitely annoying. Thanks for the insights anon!

>>6322822
Lol....damn I'm too normie. I get they are rather 'normie friendly' collections but that's what I like to collect - I actually have more figures that I didn't post as I was just posting my larger collections, but I have plenty of Persona figma, some Miku nendos, archetype bodies, and more. Also looking forward to my Pop Team Epic nendos and that's not exactly normie friendly!
>>6322827
Good point actually I should look for them. For a while I was using claws to make them fly around

True patrician taste right here.
Also, why the fuck is it so hard to find cabinets with glass doors for sale? The closest things I can find are IKEA Billy shelves like pic related but they're incredibly thicc and therefore almost 1/3rds of my collection would be left behind them if I actually installed those.

lol ok
>>6325142
>Tokyo Ghoul, SAO, and SnK
Gross
>>6325368
I agree on SNK and SAO, both are shit tier anime. I bought the figma like 3 years ago around the time they came out when I was a weeaboo fuck. I still have a soft spot for TG and will probably never part with Kaneki
Most people bitch about the color of my walls.
>>6325389
It is a pretty ugly colour.
>>6325389
pose link better, my walls are uglier
>>6325389
Your collection gets incrementally worse the lower the shelves go
>>6325777
So Takara toys are inferior?
>>6325323
You can get glass doors for the Billy which have a much thinner frame, see pic related.
>>6283260
What is that stuff under MP-10's feet?
>>6313510
You DO need to dust and a nicer/better display would be nice too but you definitely have some elder god tier taste when it comes to figures.
What's that huge Black Getter? Does it pose well? Worth the money?
>>6325798
Compared to a lot of other Japanese companies, yes
>>6325798
No. Most people are simply too retarded to differentiate their collector lines from their mainlines and are too poor to own a lot of adult toys so they don't have much to compare them to.
>>6323173
Dude you like that stuff and you buy stuff from things you like that's totally fine
Fuck that guy
>>6322259
All glass, bought it all together from some dude.

back when i had a collection. good times.
>>6327197

Yep. I'm fascinated by other peoples' collections, even if I'd never buy a single thing in it. I like how deep into it people get.

>>6327273
How do we know the dog is suicidal?
What kind of glass cases are people using in these shots? I want to start displaying my collection in them but have no idea where to start.
>>6327247
Ikea's Billy isn't anything special, but they're inexpensive and offer plenty of opportunities for modification.
>>6328159
I may just have to build something and they find a way to add glass doors.
>>6328171
Custom cut glass and polished edges, glass door tracks and rollers, bonded handles.
>>6328182
Track doors sounds so sexy, I need to keep that in mind.
>>6325389
Yeah they ugly
>>6314434
I really need to get that Jack Frost/Alice figure.
Just a heads up, since Payless is closing a bunch of their stores, you can buy the acrylic risers for super cheap. I got these 3 for about 20 total. Excuse the poses, I was just trying to see how it looked with my SW figs on them.
>>6314826
>It's so dense, every single frame has so much going on
I had to make the photos dense because I uploaded them to a Gundam thread on another forum that has a very small image size limit.
>>6332467
Oh hey, I remember those pirate stormtroopers from a customs thread,
>>6332524
Best thing I ever did to a stormtrooper!
Pic related not mine, but it seems like the less figures you have, the better your overall display looks.
It's like controlling power level, if your powerlevel got too high, your room looks like a sad manchildren cave. However this creates a conundrum, as I also feel bad having >80% of my figures just hidden in a climate controlled storage facility, in which I have to pay like 100 bucks per month (together with my other shit, as I live in tiny tiny apartment in major US city)
Wat do?
>>6325389
who's the red guy on the 2nd level in the 3rd shelf from the left?
>>6332877
Looks like maketoys quantron
>>6332535
Have them one small shelves in tiny scenes peppered throughout your place, tell a story, or many stories, by simply walking around and past the figures.
>>6332877
>maketoys quantron
Thanks, anon. It is!
>>6332535
Rotate your collection.
Have a separate room for your true manchild collection.
Just purge the ones that you don't absolutely love.
>>6334974
This is how I do it now. I have a set up that's nice out in the family room, then a cluster fuck in my office next door, then the rest is stored in the closet in the office.
My collection is...a weird mishmash of fuckery at the moment. Been selling bits of things, picking up bits of other things. I'm working on limited space so I don't really have space for a proper case now, but hopefully will soon, though it doesn't really need it yet either.
I'm still trying to locate a decent cost Firebird Thunderzord with the leg and tail pieces for the Thunder Megazord, and at least the helmet if not the sword etc. Otherwise the next "addition" will be the Transformers Armada combiner Tidal Wave, I've located his torso and legs, and now need to find the third boat for his arms somewhere.
>>6335589
Uh oh, this might destined for the void. Many a statue present here.
>>6283260
Wow! A defender and an ewing. I think those are the two I'm missing from the Action fleet. Great collection

I don't care that they're, but you must not spend enough time around here to notice posts get deleted for containing a percentage of statues. I'm just stating facts.
>>6336109

imo no
Display cases are 50% off at Michael's right now. Not sure if it ends today.
>>6336339

Is that from pic related cause I'm only seeing golf and football display half off. Wall cases are reg price online.
>>6325150
>Dividing Driver on the right arm
Last I checked the DD was not a tool of destruction.
>>6336375
Not him, but I feel a bit self-conscious whenI display some mecha figures because, while I love their designs, I don't actually watch much mecha anime, especially ones aimed at younger children. Just hard for me to get into. I'm always wonder if how I display certain things are accurate to "canon"
>>6335893
Not as many as you would think actually. Sonico, DMG, Evangeline, Christie, and the lingerie Miku are the only real statue ones. Subaru and Asuka are both poseable, exceedingly so for Asuka, as are the Lyoko figures, Nico Minoru, the megazords, Onslaught, Vader, and the small Negima figures.
As for the amiibos, admittedly those are just there now because when I picked up a WiiU cheap, they were the cheap ones I could find in sales for $4-$5 apiece that weren't animal crossing figures.
Unrelated note, but in case anyone wonders why the hell the Bohrok Kal is in there; I often browse "figure unknown anime" on eBay looking at Ending Soonest auctions for unnamed figures that show up cheap. Every now and then, weird shit that definitely isn't an anime figure appears. And one day, there he was, labeled "unknown anime figure", and I got him for about $4. You find weird shit sometimes.
>>6336401
There will always be mecha superautists like me who will call you out
I have a small collection of anime/movie figures. Gundam kits, Zoids, Predators, Terminator, Robocop, Saint seiya, DBZ, etc. Wish i had a better way to organize them tho.
