These are all sold out across the country. Not one TRU has a solid case in their stockroom. Only 1500 cases produced.
I've already had them once and sold them off because they suck, but I'm starting to feel like we're not getting anything better anytime soon and I just need to settle for these.

Should I just kill myself?

The mini-pla is okay but imo it was extreme jewery by Bandai. Should've just been one regular kit there was no reason for this to be a candy toy other than a way to artificially jack up the price for it.

Are there any retail stores in the world, Japan or elsewhere actually stocking this like your normal candy toy, or is this more of just tradition on this one? The outer box dosent look like it it's perforated to open into a store display like most do
>>
>>6279861
I collect a lot of candy toys and this thing had no reason to be one. What's the point of selling them as separate items when it's clearly obvious it was meant to be one item. All the boxes are labeled as to what's inside and there is 0 point to buying any of them individually. Overall it's simply just a model kit separated into 5 boxes for no reason. No one is going to buy or sell this set individually because it's pointless for retailers and collectors alike.

Other anon I'll post a pic with the hands off later.
>>
>>6279899
>I collect a lot of candy toys
but do you collect a lot of minipla?

it's literally how they're packaged.
>>
>>6279921
This was the first mini-pla. Looking into it you would be correct. I still stand by my point the concept is retarded but japs love this shit. Looks like I also paid higher than average since I got it from Rakuten when they got a small restock so that factors in to my opinion of the value.

Those looking at him. Definitely don't pay those aftermarket prices. 4k yen max imo.
>>
>>6279738
>$100
That. That cannot be right.

Figuart fully Armored Rita is also needed.
>>
There's no possible way this movie is not getting figuarts. They're just waiting for the movie to release in japan, I know it. Bandai. Bandai please
>>
>>6279899
>>6279974
Simply put, there was probably an interest in doing Daizyujin from the mini-pla crew, and considering the hype for the Chogokin, Bandai gave them the go-ahead, since these mini-pla kits mostly tie into whatever is currently relevant. There haven't been any full-sized sentai mecha model kits of the mecha any time recently, to my knowledge, so I doubt a full sized, transforming Daizyujin model kit was even on the table.

>>

>Anyone knows if a head swapped repaint of something I already own is a good fig?

>>
>>6280861
I just saw a lot of new armoured blacks online for less than 100 bucks and I thought these would have sold out long ago, being MMPR figs and stuff.
So I wasn't sure why no one seems to buy them all out. Faulty moulds or general lack of interest?
>>
>>6279899
You need to think more of the big picture here.

The reason why candy toys exist is to be sold in supermarkets. The demographic are small kids who are promised a candy toy if they shut up and behave themselves while mummy or daddy do their shopping. The idea is they collect these candy toys progressively as the weeks go by. It's 500 yen a pop to keep your kid well behaved over several weeks. It would defeat the point if they got them all at the same time.
>>
>>6280891

General lack of interest.
>>
>>6280891
> one time use power up that was on screen for about a minute

>>
>>6280914
I find it funny how some MMPRfags can't comprehend the concept of candytoys
>be heavily invested in a children's show
>somehow doesn't know an obvious children's toy marketing when they see one
I mean Daizyujin minipla box even has the middle seam that you rip to sit it open on a counter or shelf for customers(children) to come choose their favorite mech(s) with their allowance
I guarantee it's sitting next to the Kyurenoh box of 10s and Gaogaigars

Now that you guys bring it up, I'm considering pulling the trigger on Armoured Black. I've seen it a few places online for just £50, and I don't think I'll ever spare the cash for any other Zyurangers/MMPR figures, so I may as well. Plus Black+Gold is a pretty damn sexy colour scheme.

Also I don't know how much MMPR Yellow figuarts usually go for, but I see a single one in stock here for just $80. Only ships to US and Canada, though. Otherwise, I may have considered snagging it myself.

>>
>>6281063
Fair point. While not that much of a high priority item I really do dig the design by the looks of it.

>>6281444
Do these places online happen to be inside EU or is it just US web stores?

Ebay. Maybe a few actual stores too, but Ebay is the cheapest for me after you consider P+P costs to where I live (UK).

Been considering getting an used white tigerzord, mostly bc of the white ranger fig. Does anyone have experiences with it tho?
Are there any other good white ranger/kibaranger figures aside from the SHF?
>>
>>6283995
Got mine when it came out in 90whenever...The armor on the white ranger will suffer from from gold plastic syndrome. However, the movie white ranger has the same saba/armor, so you could supplement (somewhat) newer parts.
>>
>>6283995
Also, I think the Legacy White Ranger will be hitting shelves soon. So that'll be significantly cheaper.
>>
>>6284001
The one i'm looking at seems to have his still. At least it explains, why there are so many vintage white rangers without armour.

>>6284007
Being from EU I have no clue when or if legacy toys are even a thing here. I've already checked most local toy store which had no PR stuff at all. Only hope might be a TRU which is a bit far from my place.
>>
>>6283995

Very sturdy and fun to fiddle with figure. Mine from the 90s suffered a tragic demise in the form of broken limbs but I found one at a flea market a couple years back and just used my old one armor.

I love the scale of those figures. They actually have good articulation too. If you can find them for cheap, I say pull the trigger. White is great though since he's the only one with a sword.
>>
>>6283995
The Super Legends White Ranger is fantastic and I hesitate to get rid of it because it works with the Figuarts decently. The Kibaranger SHF is better. but small.
>>
>>6280850
I recently got him and I like him, though my issues with him are same with armored red. armor hinders the arm articulation.

I want normal black so bad.
>>
>>6280914
You act like its rare to have whole sets of candy toys each be individual toys. even ones that combine or whatever are often enjoyable on their own. dont act like "oh wow, a pair of legs i cant do shit with til i get the rest of the set" is gonna be as appealing as that, regardless of how much its done.
>>
>>6282701
Armored Black and Red are the two cheapest MMPR figuarts to get.
Weirder in the case of black since he was an SDCC exclusive, but I guess it was because a super specific one time thing and the lowest priority for collectors?
Armored red was more frequent but still just not as common as seeing the normal rangers, green or white.
>>
>accepting shitty western quality toys
>>
>>6285006

Looks like yours are already peeling. Did you take your time?
I actually really enjoyed applying the stickers. They all match the panel lines so you can use a tool to press them into the crevices and create a great beveled look.
As much fun as they were, they are indeed trash for the fact that all the color keeps scraping off them everywhere. I've never in my life had an issue like this to such a degree. Playing with the figure for like an hour his stickers have awful scratches all over them. The worst part is they all show silver underneath so it's extremely noticeable
>>
>>6288652
That's normal, cheap stickers printed over that silver material are prone to scratch easily, but they do that anyways so they can use the same sheet for everything, be it a sticker that must be shiny or not.

Pic 1 shows how you can press the stickers down to make them look like paint, and pic 2 shows how they scratch. It's not the fact that they scratch, it's how easily it occurs. Pic 2 came from basically just touching him to pose his arms

You sure gave that a lot of though(t).
>>
>>6288682
I want it mainly because I like model kits and want an OG Megazord. I just don't want to shell out the $80 dollerydoos for it. Unless the model kit is massive and super complex like a PG, it really shouldn't be more than $40-$50 tops. There are exceptions like the Full Armor Gundam that's like $80 but has a literal fuck ton of parts and is massive with all the armor attached. The Minipla is tiny and shouldn't cost that much. It should be $10 per zord honestly. But I guess that's what I get for not living in nip land. Oh well.

Not who you're responding to, but that's a Legacy figure, right? Aren't they like an inch taller than the figuarts?

If so, then no, not "close enough". Leave your autism card at the desk, you don't deserve it.
>>

legacy toy isn't even out yet dingus
>>
>>6289711
That's the 6 inch Super Legends Zeo Gold. Not the Legacy 6.5 inch. It actually scales pretty nicely with Figuarts - even if it isn't as articulated as them. Still it has decent articulation, detailing and isn't too muscular.
>>
>>6289711
>Aren't they like an inch taller than the figuarts
It really sucks. I saw all of the In Space figures at this one Gamestop in the middle of nowhere, but the more I looked at them, the more I changed my mind about buying
That fucking weird scale on top of looking too /fit/ and roided up
>>
>>6289734
Wait hold on - I think I'm wrong. These might be even taller than the legacy. There's a Ninja Storm Green that is similar but scaled the same of figuarts and I'm getting it confused scale wise with this guy. Either way they're old and it doesn't matter anymore.
>>
>>6289734
I'm not too sure. The only figure I can see through my (admittedly brief) searching with a paintjob that detailed is the upcoming legacy figure. unless it's a custom paint job.
>>6289738
>on top of looking too /fit/ and roided up
To be fair, this is only really an issue on the male figures. The females look fine I think, and would be a fairly acceptable substitute to figuarts if not for the scale.

They all still have Dino heads. The black ranger does indeed have tusks on the sides of his visor and a trunk in the center.
One really nice touch is Yellow had the tiger fangs on her jawline but on the legacy figures it's the only major feature of the helmets that didn't get painted in. I'll get around to it eventually but I see why they skipped it, it's a very small crevice

I joined a couple PR related FB groups and also started looking at rangerboard and quickly made an observation. Why are Power Rangers fans the biggest faggots ever when it comes to not opening their figures? Every last one of them has their entire room consumed by boxed up Bandai of America retail releases.
Seems like the only reason that pretty much all PR merch goes up in value is because the entire fan base is made up of hoarders and people collecting as a half baked investment

It's really only MMPR that seems to have that issue. Looking on ebay, I see plenty of lots or loose figures that aren't anywhere near the prices of your typical MMPR toy.

It also doesn't help that a lot of people buy mutliples for displaying, keeping MISB, trading or customizing.

If they buy it for that price they deserve it for that price

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. I ask another person and they claim PR fans are all poorfags who can't buy anything. Another might say they buy and open too many figures and merchandise(i.e. buying 5 Legacy morphers to display with each coin, and two of each movie morpher, etc.)

I have the original Legacy Morpher and it's beautiful. I love it. I wish I had Tommy's morpher but it's super pricey. I've seen the movie version and have been tempted to pick that up but never have.

As much as I'd love the SoC Megazord I'm not dropping $250 on it. I've been tempted to get the Minipla, I like model kits anyway and it looks decent if I paint it.
>>
>>6298787
I never had the Dino Zords.

Like, I missed the S1 Merch.
I had the Thunderzords, Tigerzord, Ninja, Falcon, Shogun, and Turbo.

The nostalgia and the lack of sense makes me want them again.

Especially the morpher, think geek has two in stock still I think.
>>
>>6298799
Check on Walmart.com I got mine for like $30 after everything was said and done. it was on sale. They have the movie versions of each individual ranger out now I think, but not the original TV accurate one with the 5 Power Coins, and forget about trying to find Tommy's TV Morpher with the Dragon and Tiger Coins.

Get it homie, you won't regret it.

About to pull the trigger on the minipla Megazord for $93. Wish I wasn't a bitch and got it when it was $60 but I'm willing to spend it on this I think.

That price is complete bullshit for a crappy minipla, for triple of that you can buy the SoC that is a million times better.

Just save it, anon.
>>
>>6298983
From someone who does model kits on the regular, dont pay this for that shit. Its a sticker fest and the only impressive thing is they managed to make the transformation with each of the 5 zords be their own thing but still in no way worth that fucking original price.
>>
>>6298755
Dude I fucking love them. They're genuinely great human beings. Sure, some of their content is cheesy as hell but their main demographic is children.

It's more fun. It splits into all the zords which wins for me right off the bat. The individual zords which are all artuculated, combine into a Megazord that is also well articulated. The play value here is through the roof compared to the SRC. Not to mention that in some areas such as the waist, it's even better articulated than the Src.
I also prefer the proportions and the way they mimic the original toy. It's beefier and not exaggerated like the SOC.

I also found the build incredibly fun with just the right amount of difficulty. The stickers are a weak point but I took them as a challenge and I pressed them all down into the molded detail and most of them line up perfectly.

Don't get me wrong I like the SRC and it still has a place in my collection but the minipla is something else. It's basically a childhood dream brought to life
>>

First of all it's not my job. I was just trying to have a discussion. Why are you so negative?
I sincerely apologize to you my pictures are not up to your standards. As for the one you replied to it's obviously upside down, yet still illustrates the idea I was trying to convey about the stickers.

You can see the white and black serials on the side of the Triceratops look quite like they're painted on, but it's just the sticker properly pressed down into the ridges.

You should try it and maybe yours won't look like shit

As someone who owns 2 OG morphers I regretted buying the legacy morpher the second I opened it. Way too bulky. Incredibly off-model. I guess if you don't have the original to compare it to you won't realize this, but the original toy was the screen used prop, so Bandai really dropped the ball on that thing.
>>
>>6299095
Those silver/grey plastics that they used look like absolute shit.
>>

Isn't the original toy an actual prop they used on the show because they couldn't get the original.

Zyuranger prop is clearly the OG toy (though they used different coins). Not that it should matter since the legacy version was an MMPR toy.

for $45 i expected better color separation. The engineering is there, it's just an awful stickerfest.

>It's more fun. It splits into all the zords which wins for me right off the bat. The individual zords which are all artuculated, combine into a Megazord that is also well articulated.

The SoC does all that and actually has a transformation accurate to the show and original toy instead of cheating in places like the minipla.

>I also prefer the proportions and the way they mimic the original toy. It's beefier and not exaggerated like the SOC.

I've been owning the original toy since its release 23 years ago and the SoC looks way closer to it than the minipla.

In fact, in some regard the minipla looks closer to the Legacy one, just look at how the tyrannosaurus knees connect to the triceratops/sabertooth tiger.

>I also found the build incredibly fun with just the right amount of difficulty

Dude, those things are made so kids can assemble them easily. There's no difficulty to be found.

>>
>>6299245
>You're the only one trying to compare the minipla to the SOC. We were discussing the SRC.

True that, I didn't notice that some comparisons were actually about the SRC. Nonetheless it doesn't change the fact that the Minipla is way overpriced for what it is.

>designed for kids
>Ya ok.

Are you actually agreeing here or are you implying that it isn't true?
>>
>>6299285

>>
>>6299282
Is that a custom SRC? Sorry, don't speak Moon.
>>
>>6299245
>candy toys
>not for kids
"Ya ok."
If the Daizyujin candy toy isn't for kids then all of the Sentai minipla mecha aren't for kids either. I mean, just because is targeted at both the child and collector demographic doesn't negate the fact that it is still targeted towards children
Holy shit if you find building that difficult I would like to see you try building an actual kit.
Still, why is the concept and marketing tatic for candy toys so difficult for people to understand
It makes you look ignorant and embarassed about your toys being for kids when you are in a MMPR thread of all places
>>
>>6299285
It's not toy lingo
>>
>>6298403
Why would Zord size matter when the Legacy movie rangers are huge as well? Stop being a fag and buy two full Megazords, one to display combined and another so your Legacy rangers can ride on top of their Zords (except Kim, whose Zord can't really even stand)

Because i like to play with the figures and toting along a 2' tall movie megazord that is barely painted and unable to pose sucks, so i wanted a substitute zord, (specifically, something that is NOT a zord originally, but looks kinda like one.)

>Why didn't we get that here?

Because it's accurate. The Voltron lions moved the legs that way in the anime, but the Sabertooth tiger was just swivels with only forward/backwards movement in the show. And the SoC tyrannosaurus arms have a little bit of sideways movement, they aren't just swivels.
