I haven't played a Blizzard game since Frozen Throne, but I always loved the Abominations, and I had been following that figure since prototypes showed up in other Neca threads. Glad to find it for such an amazing price.

IDGAF about the action figures but I did just order 4 Dragon Whelp plushies. I got the Crimson, Emerald, Dark and Bronze Whelplings for $6.25 each. I don't play WoW anymore but when I did the dragon whelplings you could find were my favorite companions. Would have gotten the Azure Whelp plush too, but it wasn't discounted as much as the rest.

There are a lot of cute plush in this sale.

I think you overestimate the branding value of this kind of line. Honestly it's mostly that toys based on video games tend to not sell very well in general, especially expensive toys. Cheap pokemon and Nintendo stuff, sure, but not really collector oriented figures. They had a World of Warcraft line before, and NECA did a Diablo figure, and neither did specutacularly well. Yes, the WoW line was essentially statueshit but you'd have expected it to sell simply by the brand since it came out when WoW was at its peak of popularity.

I guess NECA chose the HOTS banner so they could just make "Blizzard: The Toyline" instead of trying to design different packaging and have a bunch of little sub-lines. It's easy for them to manage.

On the plus side, even if the line really is over now, it did manage to put out some really good figures of some cool characters. Arthas is probably the best. Nova is the only dud in the line, holy shit that figure is hot garbage. But Arthas, Tyrael and Illidan are all spectacular (I don't have Stitches).

I got my Arthas. I put his sword in his hand and tried to pose him like this and ended up breaking the little piece that connects the blade to the handle of the sword. I don't think I ham handed it too hard but oh well. I'll end up super gluing the sword in his hand or something. Not like I'd have to take it out of his hand anyway.

Fuck I should have mentioned that in a post. That was a regular problem when the figure was first released. If im not mistaken the pommel comes off to put the sword in his hand. It's really easy to break the sword at the hilt if you put any pressure on it at all.

I just superglued the sword back together and it was fine.

It's not hard, Thrall, Sylvanas, Arthas, Illidan, Garrosh, those dumb human leaders, Illidan's brother maybe, throw in some Pandaren like Chen, Vol'Jin, The Taurun leader dudes. Basically doing the leaders of the races would knockout 90% of the characters people care about.

As for which look, just use the ones from Cinimatics. No one cares about Garrosh in some random armor he wore in Northrend, they care about when he was Warchief and the villain of an expansion.

I'm playing Blizzard games all fucking day and not a single email or notice on the client about this. Don't live in the US so this sort of thing either never makes it here or it's 5x the price.

I too was super pumped about this alert of sale. Got a bunch of figs, including Nova, I'm very surprised people don't like this figure. It seems to me to have quality similar to all the other figures, along with better motion because of less bulky armor. I don't know, maybe I'm just pumped about everything because I got 4 figures for the price of 1.

These dragon whelps are pretty nice quality and they have wires in the wings so you can shape and kind of pose them. I would totally buy more of these plushies if I catch another sale some time.
