Mp Grapple anon who complained about the ratchets in the crane.

They seem excessive to me (and once transformed back and forth they cause the truck parts to uncouple) but they weren't difficult to move.

Tabbing him back into truck mode is a bitch though, even here he ain't perfectly aligned, the hand tabs especially refuse to stay in, still I didn't notice much looseness compared to inferno though the tabbing might be my exclusive issue

Just got my Laser Prime. Damn, does he look nice, I just wish they'd use tampos and the painted front of the feet, connectors for the arms, and the piece that goes over the shoulders was molded in black, but those are limitations of from the mold being based on Optimus normal colors. This does beg the question of why this wasn't the molds default color scheme from the start.

So now I'm tempted to try and remove the mirrors from my MP Tracks and Roadrage and put them back in properly.

The fact that I really gobbed them up with glue because they were popping out with only small amounts of glue properly isn't going to help this

How many TM do you guys have at the moment? I'm currently at 62.

It's pretty much a monster of the week kinda of show. Some of the Decepticons are amusing, but it's pretty empty on story until the last 2 or 3 episodes of each season where they rush to an big fight.

The articulation is the same other than wrists and neck which megs has a bit more of. The only issue is MP-10 has blocks as body parts which in all honesty is just part of the character. Honestly I think the bigger nit-pick here is how Megatron's elbows are assembled. The joint is connected strictly on the outer side of the arm, idk about anyone else, but ive never seen a joint that was pinned on the one side like that honestly stay durable, he also has a weird gap in his mid-section at 45 degree angles behind that red portion on his side.

I think MP-36 is a HUGE step up in engineering, and is without a doubt impressive, but he just has too many gaps and lines in both modes for my personal tastes.

It's almost disappointing how MP36 doesn't have any horrible issues

I was kind of looking forward to parts snapping off and the transformation not staying together, but oh well.

So I was writing a complaint to premium collectables as I'm waiting on my mp primal STILL and decided to go play with the old one I have.

What the fuck happened to today's transformers, all these gimmicks, dat sculpt, poseability is decent for what he was, I'm quite glad I actually passed up on bw megatron back in the day for this.

1: Oil prices are higher, thus plastic prices are higher, which leads to...

2: ..The companies are cheap fucks. Thats all there is to it. They could easily give us higher quality for the same price, but those fractions of a cent per unit are more important to them.

3: Walmart. Walmart wants things are certain prices. If you don't supply them at those prices, you don't get shelf space. Not getting shelf space at Walmart is a death sentence. So rather than Hasbro change up prices just a bit one character who may need a bit more plastic or paint than the rest, they just can't do that because Walmart will drop them and give no fucks.

I wasn't going to respond yesterday of all days, but there are quite a few Combiners coming after Power of the Primes.

Hasbro will wrap up most of the US G1 era with PotP so the series after that will be a homage to the Japanese line. They didn't hint at Star Saber and Deathsaurus for nothing.

They're bringing back MicroMasters as blind bags at some point as well. Takara has almost every original mold. Sadly, they don't have the bases like Countdown. Hasbro can use Kre O for MicroMasters Bases tho, if they decide to expand that line into boxed sets.

Since Hasbro decided to move Rescue Bots to YouTube next season, they're going to gauge the advertising revenue from that. They own all three Takara TFG1 shows, so they might be able to realistically finance American voice dubbing for them on YouTube. Having Victory in English at the same time as the toys are out will be nothing but a benefit to the Generations line. PotP is going to run 18 months, so it's so either can look into for a while yet before making the call.

If that all does well, we might see them add a Zone series to support the MicroMasters toys.

Victory would benefit from an english dub since its much faster paced than the preceding series, that said maybe (and most likely) the weeb in me is having a hissy fit, but I see the series in subs as "just fine" as they are.

Being a fan of subtitles with japanese voice actors isn't such a minuscule thing anymore, and it helps to better embrace the japanese roots of transformers...that said if the shows themselves don't have too many alterations made both in script and animation I'll be content.

As for the Japanese roots, almost every part of the early series was created by Jim Shooter and Bob Budiansky. Takara designed the toys, but the heart if the series was from Marvel Comics. Early MPs used the G1 designs as a starting point, but also incorporated toy designs, and sometimes just plain new ideas to create something that looked good on its own, whereas the last batch of MPs have focused on looking like the cartoon, whether for better or for worse. And while I'm indifferent to Beast Wars MPs (the show was awesome, I just don't care for organic animal alt. modes), the show designs looked better than the G1 cartoon did, on screen. The animation models were specifically simplified and streamlined so they would be easier to draw, with no regard to how nice they actually looked, where that wasn't the case in a CG show where every character was modeled once and then posed. If I was going to have something made into a toy 1:1, it would definitely be the consistent, detailed 3D models rather than the hastily drawn, lazily-colored animation cels of 1984.

I like good toys. I don't give a fuck about accuracy.

The only thing wrong is the beast mode head looking to the front. Rotate it so it's looking down, there's even a blue panel that is supposed to be on the top side of the chest that is also on the MP.

As for the TR beastformers, I wouldn't really call ANY of the Titans Return beastformers good, for one a chunky robot mode doesn't feel good to me and that kind of design only hinders posability (it took me like a week to figure out how to properly pose CW Magnus and he is not even that chunky); another thing is that the kibble on the Headmasters beastformers is just shameless but that is by design and I'm not at all lenient with kibble whose integration into the robot mode looks like someone said "fuck it, I want to go have a drink". It will depend if you are okay with having a head just hanging on the back or not, and if you like them enough to justify the quality issues on top of it.
