I find it funny Joseph Joestar (Tomokazu Sugita) voiced Starscream.

Sakamoto draws gay shota hentai too apparently, from what people have said in these threads.

Japan just legitimately does not give a fuck. Their values are not the US's.

Yeah nobody gives a shit about porn in japan. You could tell your boss that you want to fuck little girls on your lunchbreak and he'd just laugh at you for being a lolicon and tell you to get back to work.

Meanwhile in the west you might as well have to pretend you have virtually no sex drive if you don't want to wind up fired and blacklisted.

I remember the series being a mess of poor quality control, with a bunch of mods and fixes showing up within days of release. I also remember mentioning the qc or insinuating that it's somehow a bad thing to have to fix a toy out of box would bring out waves of animated fans sperging out about the line being perfection and that anyone who says otherwise is a geewunner. I'm glad Hasbro can't use those molds anymore, shit was retarded.

Anybody know how to fix the issue with the treads not pegging in on TR Megatron? I've tried disconnecting the treads at the red swivels, and when they're not attached the treads are able to peg in fine. I assume that means the issue is with one of the red swivel pieces but I'm not sure what that issue is or how to fix it.
>>
>>6247498
Does ANYTHING peg in properly in TR? Jesus.

I don't understand how things can get this bad, this fast. CW was, for the most part, pretty okay when it comes to parts fitting properly. Would've been disastrous if a combiner couldn't come together as it was designed to.
>>
>>6247513
It's rough sometimes. At least most Hasbro releases have all the parts though; every time I've bought from Takara I'm missing pieces.
>>
>>6247516
Just returned a Twinferno today.

I wasn't completely happy with the design, but I thought he's still cool and unique enough for my collection.

Ended up returning him because I just couldn't deal with everything being ill-fitting. The slots on his back for the weapons to peg in were way to tight, while the slots on his shoulders were way too loose. You have to forcibly shove his weapons into his hands (which I didn't even bother with, having read about people stressing it). Even his transformation was full of things that were either too tight or too loose.

I really hope the movie line making everything more expensive means they'll give us slightly better quality.
>>
>>6247513
>I don't understand how things can get this bad, this fast

Hasbro cheaped out and moved their factories because they didn't want to pay the Chinese more money. So they packed up and took their shit to somewhere that had little to no experience, unlike the Chinese who have decades worth because we keep putting all our manufacturing in China.

Just another in a long line of moves designed to pocket an extra 1/1000th of a penny. Gotta buy that 7th house in an exotic locale, they don't pay for themselves y'know.

So have MONTHS of searching Ebay to find a loose UW Ratchet, I found a lot of him and a couple of other figures for like $160 with shipping.

So I bought it.

The other figures were Rook, CW First Aid, and UW First Aid. Also, Rook and UW First Aid were covered with UW Defensor foil set stickers as the seller had decided to repurpose UW First Aid as a police search and rescue vehicle and decided to bling Rook out with foil stickers..

Any suggestions on how to remove foil sticker residue crap from a Transformer? Some of the stickers didn't fully come off when I pealed them off Rook and UW First Aid.

If CW Megatron's arms formed the tank mode turret the other way around, then it would have been able to aim upwards using the shoulder joints.

my guess is there's going to be a massive shrinkage in average figure size after Power of The Primes ends, maybe with a revival of Cyberverse and having most of the line be Deluxe size or smaller, with only the occasional Voyager figure and maybe one or two Leader class figures in a year/line(Titans would probably continue to be a thing though since they have smaller production runs and generally sell well)

>That would have been neat but man, that mold did not need to be reused again.
one possible mold they could use could be the upcoming TR Windblade, with a couple relatively minor remoldings to the body, maybe some new weapons, and a new head(Sari would work well as being Head/Power/God/Titan Master), it'd be something that would be really easy for either Hasbro or Takara to do(indeed I might try and do a custom for it since there's a guy on shapeways who's made a Sari inspired Titan Master faceplate)

There is a lot more retooling than I was expecting on him. I thought it was mostly going to be just remolds, but the crane's transformation is entirely new, his hips were completely overhauled from Inferno's and the legs now sport half of the crane assembly on them.

The most interesting thing being the retooled hips. They don't articulate any better or worse but because of the changes he's a good 2-3mm shorter than Inferno, which does a pretty cool job of distinguishing these two molds. (In this picture they're posed identically below the waist).

>>6247874
No terrible quality control issues, unless there are some I haven't noticed yet or don't have on mine. In terms of how well he's made, I find the paint on him to be a little too thin though I haven't had any chipping issues yet, but joint tightness/tolerance is kind of a worry for me. A few joints (mostly the pesky rivet joints in his elbows) are pretty damn tight, but what takes the cake is the extendable hydraulic piston used for the crane arm. It is absolutely rock solid and takes TREMENDOUS amounts of force to extend and retract. It can actually be really hard to transform him out of robot mode because folding the crane into his back involves sliding it into place while retracting the piston. Pulling it back out afterwards is really difficult.

I tried to lubricate it slightly but it didn't help much. I might try to disassemble it later to see if I can loosen it properly, but it's one of those instances where you have to disassemble everything around it to get at it and I have shit to do later.
>>
>>6247879
Well, shit a review from paik4life or whatever just said he wasn't as tight, but...thinner paint?

I actually thought my inferno had too much, well I await the results.

Part of me thinks this is because of mp shockwave, we bitched about his shade of purple in plastic and now we're drowning them in paint and not being happy with that either

(As for the crane yikes, I'll report on mine when he arrives)

The crane/ladder transformation is an area where Inferno is superior. On Inferno, the entire ladder folds up nicely and snuggly stuffs entirely into Inferno's torso with virtually no kibble.

Grapple's Crane, on the other hand, splits in half so only the tip of the crane folds into his torso leaving a lot of empty space in his torso and a beavertail of panels hanging off his ass (more on that in a bit by the way), while the base of the crane splits off onto the back of his legs.

It's still an interesting and impressive transformation, but the fact that the end result didn't manage to be as clean as Inferno's is disappointing.

Also he can only transform with the hook. The bucket and claw not only don't fit into his chest, but lack an extra joint present on the hook piece that's necessary for transformation. Not a big deal to me but it would have been cool if he could transform with any attachment.

>>6247883
It might just be because yellow/orange paints tend to look pretty bad in general. I'm not sure if "thin" is how to describe it.

And yeah, the piston has a tiny ratchet joint in it that means fucking business.

Accesory wise, I think they're about equal. The crane attachments are cool and look great, but there isn't terribly much to do with them because of how limited the movement on the crane is. The artifact is a neat little accesory as well but I don't see myself doing much with it ever, and the little screwdriver he gets is cute, albeit a complete cunt to get him to hold properly.

My only complaint is it feels like he's missing an effect to shoot out of his hand cannon. Inferno's got a torrential blast of water while Grapple has nothing.

And the faces are not only still great, but unlike dick-ass MP Ratchet and Ironhide, you can actually swap their heads because there's no no fun allowed tabs to get in the way! (though Inferno's "toy accurate" faces can't fit into Grapple's helmet because of some extra plastic on them)
>>
>>6247879
The hydraulic piston is tough to move, maybe, if you're a fucking wuss with no actual hand strength. The plastic is plenty sturdy, just force it, and maybe hit the gym.

Since no one found me a pic for my question in >>6247800 I found something interesting.

One detail in the hasbro renders that made the takara one different was the cannons on the hasbro version had a black spot of detail painted in, takara's did not, but this image is from the 2017 australia hobby and toy fair, also sporting takara's lack of painted detail.

Supposedly of the 2 trypticons present, one was pre-production, this means takara's one from the magazine scans is either incomplete itself or the hasbro one's prototype was derived from takara's first, or some other more sensible theory that I'm just missing, either way hasbro trypticon sporting takara's deco in australia.

Grapples only problem engineering wise is the non-functional hip rotation. Because of the beavertail and because the front wheels (which are a part of the upper body) tab into place lower in robot mode, you simply can't budge the waist rotation.

If you untab the wheels and lift up the beavertail then you can rotate his waist somewhat, but the fact that the proper configuration locks away a point of articulation is pretty bad.

Top pic is the intended config, bottom is the wheels and tail lifted and the waist turned as far as it can go.

>>6247895
Don't get me wrong I think it's fine as well, it's just a shame he doesn't have virtually no kibble like Inferno.

>>6247902
It's probably a tolerance issue, because the joint on my is seriously rock solid. I genuinely thought he was stuck in robot mode the first time I put him back into vehicle mode.

That's great. Since they didn't show that initially, I assumed the green section further back would open up and the figure would then roll right down the ramp, but that's way cooler since it's like he's eating them when you store them.

Trypticon is the best Titan figure by far. He only needs a Brunt to be perfect, and if they ever made one (probably a third party), he can be stored inside Trypticon no problem (though, I'll use the space for my Blackjack, who's going to be a stand in for Wipe-Out).

Plans cancelled, so now it's time to get invasive/run the risk of fucking up a 130$ toy.

I felt as though the crane up extended and retracted just a little too loosely for my tastes so I wanna gum up this track with future shine to make it just a hair tighter. The crane actually comes apart easily, no pesky glued pegs like a certain narcissistic corvette on my shelf.

I find it weird that there's no nubs to keep it in place at any points, though considering the tightness of the piston that's probably a good thing.

I'll just put this in one post so as not to get annoying.

Now that the telescopic crane arm is tighter to my liking, I decided to take a crack at loosening that fucking piston. I couldn't even begin to figure out how to get Grapple's torso apart (having everything unscrews but not even coming loose is a bad start) but thankfully you can just pop the crane assembly off of its base with a little wiggling and minimal plastic bending once you remove a few screws.

The actual issue with taking apart the piston is a plastic cap at the end of it that firmly keeps both halves of the piston together. I can't tell if it was glued outright or just a very tight press fit and the surrounding paint stuck it in place, but it was a right cunt to slide off (I didn't try to put it back on yet, not looking forward). Thankfully I managed to work a screwdriver into the seam and rock it around abit until the cap came off.

Now that it's apart I can look my fucking enemy in the eye... It's just a teeny little plastic ratchet that doesn't take shit from anyone. I was originally going to just shave a bit off of it to make it weaker, but I think I'm just going to leave the part out when I reassemble this. I partially reassembled the piston without it and it seems plenty tight without the ratchet, and I like the smoother motion instead of the harsh clicks anyway.

God I love it when you can actually fix a problem, MPs are always(almost) so nice and easy to take apart and fix/modify when the need arises. This was actually pretty easy to do but it might depend on how easy that end cap is to take off. I might have just gotten lucky.

>>6248881
They only had one more, and I heard the issue is like line wide.

>>6248874
Damn yeah, it's a shame they didn't fix the mold.

The problem is this area I'm pointing at is slightly too fat on both sides. It grips the hinge and causes both sides to snap off. The red ring is bendy plastic that holds on too, but I feel it might degrade in time.

The yellow thing should have been both the yellow and the red areas so it'd be thicker and sturdier. Either that or make it a clip/pegged in hinge.
>>
>>6248888
Mine is still intact, but I hear people would have it break randomly somewhere down the line.

What the hell is the cause? There's no resistance at all when I'm moving it. It has to be something to do with the material itself. Like a new GPS.
>>
>>6248895
Yellow plastic isn't that stable to start with and the engineering of the toy keeps pressure on those points to where they are basically getting press against even when not being played with. So something as simple as a change in temperature could case it to crack with little effort. Like anon said it needed to be much thicker but that would have came at the cost of losing the transparent plastic in the cockpit.
>>
>>6248895
It's probably the rubber, since it can stick to the plastic and cause extra friction while moving. Since the side pieces are so thin, they snap while trying to move it.

But that's only a guess
>>
>>6248895
It just completely broke off.

It didn't feel like GPS, and the plastic on the rest of it feels fine. Before when I was moving it, I could feel the pieces resisting movement.
>>
>>6248895
That yellow plastic is known to be weak, but it's more to do with the pinning process. That's why the chance of it happening is so random, if Kim is doing delicately it then it's fine, but if ruff and gruff Chong hamfists it then that piece's fucked.
>>
>>6248895
It's a clearance issue

>>6249075
It seems that Trypticon is less focused on sheer size and moreso on balanced functionality.

Mretroplex has tons of hollow spaces, especially in his legs, which don't have dedicated functionality. It's clear his toy was made to be as massive as possible for marketing purposes. Couple that with the need to have mass on his backside as well for the tail and there was never a chance Trypticon would be eye to eye with plex.

That said, Trypticon looks way better than any other Titan figure. I wouldn't mind if all other Titan class figures were at that scale if it means deluxe size cockpits, more flip-out weapons, and better partners. Fulltilt alone looks like a huge improvement over Cerebros, so I can only have hope for future titans.

Let's just hope Predaking isn't a titan. Devastator was a massive flop because he needed to be light enough to be a foot and a half tall which meant all the individuals had to suffer for it..
>>
>>6249108
He's still hollow, remember he has the compartment where "eaten" titan masters go, and the legs as well.

He looks great and functions well, I suspect its cost cutting to blame.

>Fulltilt alone looks like a huge improvement over Cerebros
FT is bland to look at and has a dull appearance, his main selling point is he exist at all over electronics (which may of went into trypticon's stomach), infact I personally believe he himself would be cheaper than a voice box.

>Devastator was a massive flop because he needed to be light enough to be a foot and a half tall which meant all the individuals had to suffer for it
On one hand, it would make sense, hasbro did co-develop him so they needed to skip sections just to bulk him up.

On the other Hasui did say he wanted it to be a kinda-mp scale thus why each member is voyager-ish sized, if this is utter bullshit from him I would be deeply saddened since he seems like a cool dude, I want to hear more from him but its all Yuki all the time

I can decide which accessories to use on grapple. The dumb cartoon grill is staying in the box where it belongs but I like both helmets and I like both nozzles.

I gotta say though, I appreciate the use of the proper bot logo on the cartoon grill. I don't "dislike" cartoon accuracy as much as I just outright dislike the sloppy logos.

I'm also thinking of drawing lines on the screaming toy accurate face because I really like the look of the lines on the cartoon face. Probably not but maybe.
