>do remote internet work for a living, only communicate through email/im
>have all food and supplies delivered straight to my door
>go months at a time without leaving the house
>order all my toys off various websites

How did toy collectors of old do it? I can't imagine going to Toys R Us as the fat neckbeard I am and regularly buying a bunch of children's toys. I can't imagine how boring it must have been to hunt down toys through a bunch of small stores throughout the city and calling people out of state/country if those stores didn't have what you were looking for. I can't imagine making small talk with people at work and have them ask "so what do you like to do on your off hours, anon?"
This is truly the golden age for our kind.

Are you one of those 400 pound hackers I've heard so much about?
>>
When I was a kid I literally rode my bike to Toys R Us every Monday because someone told me that was when new shipments got put out. I got a lot of Spawn figures and Toy Biz X-Men that way.

OP, I am genuinely curious as to how one gets a job like yours. If you could share how, I'd greatest appreciate it.

As for buying stuff physically, it's just how important the thing is to you. I know I'm not getting any of the new MLs without getting scalped unless I hunt, and since I'm a photographer having it immediately is a plus. I don't like it when people talk to me either but nobody will talk to you as often as you think, if at all

I am not OP but I work from home too. It was a dream come true. I have my own office and I am surrounded by toys. Look for "virtual" jobs. That's what they're calling them these days. It's mostly customer service and IT.

Unfortunately my job is getting shut down and moved to a call center in Mexico.

Damn, what iron man is that? Looks really impressive. Sorry to hear about your job, anon.

You could trade stocks for a living if you're good at it. That's what I'd like to do but you have to start out with a lot of money to actually be profitable with it.

this. it might be better as an adult to have the online option, but there was something so magical about going to the store every other saturday and looking for toys, being at the mercy of whatever that store stocked, and having to look into toys you'd never think of getting. also, staying there for hours at a time, and being pleased as hell when one of the cool toys your cousins in california always bragged about on the phone that your store never had actually shows up, unexpectedly.

>$100 for a 1/12
tempting though
>>

It's actually really fun to go to the store and pick up what you were going for and looking at displays. One of the best advantages is being able to pick out the one with the best paint application etc.

I ordered online when I lived in the US because hobby shops in the US don't import in Japanese toys at a reasonable price, so I'd order and stack my order through HLJ warehouse then ship them in.

Now I'm back in Asia and I must say, I love making the trip, you never know what you had wanted before and had missed out on... were okay with it, then it pops up for a good price because no one else really want it anymore but they've got a stray stock.

I remember when I was younger I made trips to the Mattel and Hasbro distribution centers which I happened to live close to. It was pretty far by foot actually (1h walk time) but my granma took me there a couple of times, got the first two digivices and some figures that way.
Indeed it's cool looking at the stuff in person, nowadays shoping online you have to go by promotional pics which are usually touched up prototypes.

I have no idea how you do it, anon. I buy $200 Hot toys and import mecha stuff and the like, but I still like to chill out at Toys R Us and get some cheap toys now and then. A week ago I got some Mega Bloks turtles and a Marvel Legends Nico Minoru. hen I can buy imports at barnes and Noble, I do, too.

5 to 10 grand on average if you know what your doing, my old boss helped me turn roughly 12 grand into half a mil in my 401k.

I'm set for retirement but I'm still grinding away my 30s after grinding out my 20s, I have a sinking suspicion I will be grinding out my 40s and 50s too.

Life sucks, even when you work at doing right.
