It's a very different feeling Ultra, mind. It's more down to earth and feels more like an early Heisei Kamen Rider. A lot of focus is given to Orb and his relationship with the main villain and it's the first Ultra to not focus on a science/defense team. Instead, our protagonist team is a bunch of conspiracy theorists/kaiju bloggers.

I enjoyed it a lot. Then again my only real experience with Ultraman before Orb was the Zero movies, Nexus, and Seven X.

I just finished the Kiva series last night and plan to watch the movie today. I really don't get the hate for it. I found it pretty enjoyable.

Wataru was such a copy-paste of Ryotaro and lacked anything to make him stand out on his own. It feels like such a missed opportunity to not make him like some Vampire Hunter D kind of character, instead we had someone that was frustratingly shy and passive that only because cool via some unexplained thing that happened when he turned into Kiva form.

Speaking of Kiva form, his gimmick would have been much better used in phase 2 instead of phase 1. A bunch of upgrades and forms based on horror monsters is a fantastic idea, but it's barely ever used in the show at all and doesn't happen ever again once he gets emperor form (that dragon had a horrible voice as well). Also it makes the 80's team seem like massive failures considering they never manage to actually kill a fangire.

Granted /m/ hates it more than it deserves, since the i thought the 80's segments were really damn ambitious and pulled off pretty well, and the romance plot was absolutely the best part of the show. Also i desperately need a Saga figuarts in my life.

I was told that the whole show dropped in quality the moment that Tatsulot showed up, but I never felt that way. However, I couldn't not think of Tatsulot as a Scrappy-Doo sort of character - a quirky, child-like character with silly catchphrases (Byun~ Byun~, I am always at your side!). Still, I wasn't so put off by him as to hate him or anything.

To be honest, the 80s bits were my favorite part of the series. Otoya was a fun, I was invested in his blossoming relationship with Yuri, and the monsters palling around was amusing.

I tend to think the reason for that is that Wataru doesn't actually think he is Kiva. Every time he becomes a Kiva, regardless of what he does as Kiva, he always sees the action as being Kiva's doing it rather than his own. He's not tough, it's Kiva making him that way.

But as time goes on he ends up realizing that Kiva isn't separate from himself.

The only conflicting story I heard was the way it was destroyed. Some say all the water stunts rotted the foam rubber they used.

Another Agito was from 2002. According to /m/ this is apparently a W suit that was made for Kamen Rider Taisen due to the other W suits falling apart, and it's already started to get shitty. Bandai, and Toei agree on a theme and basic gimmick first, then a company owned by Bandai called Plex designs everything. Plex is also on-call for Saban to use for any original Power Rangers weapons or suits. Like those mega cockpit modes are designed by Plex and are specifically designed with Kamen Rider in mind.

Bandai then makes toys based on these designs. It's a bit of a team effort between the three overall though. Everyone has say on how things go and there are a load of unused designs and gimmick ideas.

With Kyuranger BOA was brought on as consultant as well to some degree.

How's QC on Amazon Alpha? I'm asking because my exp with SHF QC has been wildly unpredictable. I picked out Black renewal from a bunch of figures with misaligned paint on his waist and center-band on his head. Ultraman SHF was loose as hell, just like Ultra-Act but the store owner was kind enough to swap it out for me. Same slight paint issues with Black RX, but I got to pick that out in the store. Zo was the most consistent one, despite having finer details on his lining.

Now, I'd like to know if Amazon Alpha generally has great QC so it's safe enough for me to order online or if I should stick around and wait to buy in person when I see it.

The writing and directing was supposed to take much more advantage of the theme than what was actually put out there.

We were meant to get more of what we saw in Suprise Future and the very early episodes of Ghost: a very "ghostly" Ghost, which really was what tye show needed more than anything. Part of what made it boring was that it wasn't ghostly enough, making the Riders in the show feel like just another set of Riders who can form change using weird alien technology. The theme could have been anything and it would not have made a difference.

They are. Their prices are often low due to the quality of the item they're selling. Because they're a second hand store mostly a lot of stuff they sell can be scuffed or broken. They say what's wrong if something has an issue, and their quality guide (0 - 5 thing) is a good indicator of what you're getting.

It's all good. I was dubious of them at first too. They were the only place offering the DX Drill ressha from ToQger on its own at the time for a very good price, so I took a chance on them.

Glad I did, and chances are, you'll get a couple of other things in your box with your medals. All I ordered was the DX drill ressha, and the guy threw in gasha versions of the Build ressha and one of the Safari resshas.
