the grinch movie I feel did work. The basic plot works a lot better for being strecthed out into a much longer story to fit a movie.
This one however, I just kept wondering, 'where ARE we in this film? how much longer will it keep going? What is the point?'

You need to stop with the "I tried/Best I could do" crap. If that is truly the best you could do, post it without making excuses for it, and know you did your best.
When make a comment like that it means you aren't happy with it, which naturally begs the question, "Then why did you post it if you weren't happy?"

i always thought these threads were more of a "try to put your shitty figures in this position, lets see what we get" but they're actually serious business, huh?
>>6211190
Keyword is "try". Some people don't even try. I'm not the guy who critizes everyone, but I understand his logic, I mean, if people aren't even going to try or contribute anything, why post?
>>6211190
It's pretty much just one guy who thinks his opinion matters when all he does it comment how close to the image the pictures are. If the posts are correct but one character isn't angled just right, he screeches loudly.\
I like when people take the post and change it up a bit for what figures they use.
I didn't have a bat accessory.

I get that it's not a contest to see who can take the best quality 'high art' photos, but jeez man, When you post something like >>6205824 which is the total opposite of what OP asked for, or you do post an absolutely horribly out of focus dark shitty picture, and preface it with "I tried" it just makes you look lazy. Like you aren't even trying.

>>6214292
Let me give you some practical advice. Everyone gets caught up with a light box, but all they're trying to achieve is good lighting.
Try this instead. Purchase a piece of poster board from someplace, a normal one that we used to use in school, one matte side and one gloss side. Lay it against a wall and tape the top two corners on the wall so it forms a curved L shape onto your desk. Then take two lamps and place them diagonally facing your figure from the front. Last step is to take two pieces of thin, normal A4 printer paper and just tape it over the bulbs on your two lamps. Sometimes I use a third to light from the top also with a piece of paper. No box, just the board against the wall, and I get a lot of the time better pictures than people using an actual box, plus it's less stuff to have to fool with.
Wish my Lupus Rex came in already

not him or the original anon, but the purple girl is a time/space manipulator, the joke is that even when sneaking up from behind while she is unarmed, she will pull a gun from out of a pocket dimension and freeze time then shoot you. Hence the Nice Try
or at least I am assuming that is the intended joke based on my knowledge of the characters.

>>6207580
>the grinch movie I feel did work
It completely fucking missed the point of the story. The movie took a simple, straightforward story about the basic goodness of humanity embodied by the spirit of Christmas and heaped on a confused pile of needless backstory and ill-placed commentary about commercialism. Which was ironic since the movie itself was a massive pile of insipid, commercialized garbage devoid of heart.
>>6205694
in the cartoons do these magical girls use those as weapons to beat people to death?
That shit seems brutal for something so cute.
>>6213077
It's because you took the picture with light source in the background.
>>6229124
The girl in the front? The show she comes from DOES have instances of that. And I do mean average humans not each other, but there is plenty of that too. It is quite a grim show and created a lot of copycats trying to make a name for themselves with a dark and edgy magical girl show.
The show the other girl is from is much more of a tame magical girl show iirc.
>>6228689
well I said it worked, essentially that it made more sense when strecthed out with more plot shoved into it, versus cat and the hat. I did not however say that it was actually was any good.
>>6228689
I thought the moral of the story was how Christmas may seem like obnoxious and commercialized shit, but deep down there's more meaning to it about the goodness in people.
Besides it had based Jim Carrey hamming it up and actually effort put into the set design and make-up, which the shitty CGI remake is going to lack.
>>6204184
A bit of an improvised phone shot, but it didn't come out too awful apart from the lighting.
No Negan and Glenn pics?

If you want magical girl shows with physical fighting in it, have a look at the Symphogear series, the Nanoha series, but that one focuses more on mecha in tone, so they fight more using magic laser beams, but mostly the 3rd season, Strikers, which is universally agreed to be the weakest has some brawlers. Also it has a spinoff series called Vivid strike that focuses on what is basically a MMA tournament for magical girls.
Some of the more kiddy magical girl shows, such as Smile Precure, also kill their monsters of the week mainly with fisticuffs, for some reason.
This was terrifying because posing D-Arts feels like pulling them apart.

You'd need poseable figures of them to do that, and all there is for'em is statues.
