Is this technically a heater or kite shield? I thought kite shields would be a bit longer. Looks more like a heater.

The strapping could be different. Most heater shields seem to be held with the forearm running perpendicular to the torso so that stance would be awkard, with the elbow up. If held with the forearm running parallel, which I've seen kite shields as such, then that stance would be comfortable and natural.

They're $30 dollar figure, or more if you had to pay scalping price (in which 4H did absolutely nothing to mitigate) that's the minimum amount of money you need to get the legion builders due to ripoff shipping. They're $30 dollar figure paid two year in advance, which means that it is more than $30 considering the lost opportunity cost of that $30, most of which you can just have sit around in your bank account accumulating interest.

Most people splurge significant amount of money on this line, due to the archaic limited availability and build to order nature. In reality you need to spread the ripoff shipping and tax around multiple figures to have the figures costing you as close to the price point advertised as you can.

You can't even preorder figure to make, and combine the shipping with the leftover sale figure. You can't even preorder a batch of figure, then say you change your mind decided to add another figure onto your preorder batch because their store system is too archaic, you need to pay the $15 shipping again.

Needing nearly a year just to get simple redecos, plus needing people to preorder them or no chances of getting any is plain dumb.

I think it's sorta missing the point or spirit of kickstarters, where the kickstarter is supposed to raise funds to push a product out into the market. With 4H, it's like they dont even want their products to be sold in stores and the KS is only way to get their product.

I'm not being a 4H apologist or anything, as I've got burned hard with the chipping issues too, but the chipping problem is mostly due to flesh tone paint, rather than the naked body buck. My two minotaurs, naked green orc and naked black orc were fine, but Atlus and Barbarian builder suffer hard from paint chipping.

On Atlus and barbarian builder, the chip issues are EVERYWHERE, shoulders, knees, and even neck after you put the shoulder pauldron for a while. Sadly it doesnt seem like they fix the flesh tone issues on the barbarian builder reissue, which is shameful considering the builder costs like $50 and it's the only torso/arm you get

I did and it didn't work. I coated my Atlus and barbarian builder with flat varnish before trying to move them, left the varnish to dry, but then a single movement on the joint shear the paint that was underneath the varnish away and make it flake off.

On this note, now that I have my figures out it feels like there's another thing that needs to be addressed, it's the severe drop in quality on the 1.75 figures. Pic related is the black knight and Urzokk from 1.0. I forgot how awesome Urzokk is, how many layers of paint and shading he had, all his joints are tight. The black knight on the other hand, had way less shading and layer of paint, only flat black and flattish silver, with black wash on the flat silver. The silver paint along his pauldrons are kind of sloppy, the paint on his chest and crotch are fuzzy, and on mine there's even a paint glob on the purple thing on his crotch tabbard. This is not to add the 1.75 figures are all floppier especially on the lateral hip movement. The only true standout from 1.75 with detailed shading and color variation was Schaphoid but then again his shading could've been way way better than just random green shades on his crotch tabbard

With posing. 95% of the chipping comes from a literally single movement on the joint. If you already posed your figure and it survived the first few movement then seems like you're good.

The chip on the neck area on mine seemed due to storage, when I had the figures with the shoulder pauldron on and the paint on the pauldron just rubs onto the neck permanently

Those of you with All-Star Skapulars, is there shading on the back? My original one has shading on the back but the two All-Stars I got are just bright red on the back while the fronts are all dark and airbrushed.

On that note a lot of figures in general don't have the backs painted/weathered. Illgar and Tibius for example have perfectly clean backs.

I have said before i sort of want gadriel for the angelic look. Not a fan of the black head but that white armor looks great. However it doesnt give me hope that in every pic including the toyfair one she seems to need the figure stand to stay up. I do want her for whatever adapter she has that makes the wings work on the bodies. I would love to use the bone wings and the other regular wings I have on my MLs.

That said, most of it comes from the increased price for something that should be an army builder and not anything actually bad about the figure itself. People think two $18 skeleton legion figures, one of each gender, is a better option then one $33 figure with a swappable torso that will sit in your parts bin since you can't make use of the extra bodies.

Yeah compared to my first one the red is a lot darker, and also his back isn't painted at all. Not having figures be as nice as the protos is one thing but not even being able to reproduce them accurately kind of sucks.

I'm the guy. I haven't updated since 4H hasn't formally listed the price of the unlocked femskellys. I know somebody said they'd be $33 but until I see it on their KS page I'm not comfortable listing it.

And who knows? When they get back tomorrow after toy fair they might drop a bombshell of a stretch goal that unlocks in a day.

On a side note did they every explain what the 'cracking' pics were supposed to mean? I had a theory that maybe they were going to be killed in their canon & be turned into evil undead versions of themselves (basically a new zombified paintjob). I have no interest in Artemyss but a ghoul fairy queen with rotted wings? Shit...I'd drop bank on that....

This was never a serious design option, but an attempt be Ed, the liaison between the boards and the 4H and the guy running the votes and doing the actual paint work on the figure itself, to try and pacify both camps of the hood/cape vote by offering a two-tone colored cape and hood option. It's an idea that while well intentioned, wasn't all that well executed. The dude is honestly one of the best parts of the boards and really doesn't deserve to get any hate as he's trying his best to be the link between the fans and the guys who run the place and usually helps in getting us some cool bonuses (extra heads, accessories and full characters even).

When the voting started for the entire thing, there was mock up (pic related) done that I more or less based most of my votes around. It showed a figure made mostly of browns, blacks and silver could look very striking and interesting.

At this point, the majority of it is a foregone conclusion. But with the current round of votes more or less stating that the leather parts of the gloves and boots WILL be brown leather, regardless of votes, I kind of have hope we can squeeze out at least something reminiscent of this design.

They actually mentioned in a video interview that they do have a wing adapter in progress (for the 1.0 figures) but as of now it sticks out a bit too much and they're not sure if they want to go forward with it yet. I'm assuming the 2.0 bodies use a different sized peg hole for their pauldrons and won't even need the adapter.

But since it was only something that happened to the Flock figures (and Herra) maybe there is something more to it?

They really need to get cracking on more comics or something, even if it's a webcomic thing. Just as long as it updates at least twice a month.
