>Build something tasty.
I have a Friends Cake maker polybag. Who wants to open it?
So,we get The Lego Ninjago Movie sets, trailer on 10.02.2017,Cars 3 sets as Juniors and Duplo,Lego City Jungle Adventure aka Adventurers, wait!
Where is Johnny Thunder?
>>6159557
In the parts bins of anyone not born after the year 2000
Anyone who wilfully didn't buy any Adventurers sets whatsoever deserves to get gassed
What do you anons do when Lego doesn't fill the void anymore?
>>6159557
Sadly, Johnny is retired for good. This was not disclosed to the public, but there was a major accident involving him during filming that lego movie gig. I've heard that he strained his back pretty badly, to the point where his arm socekts are all loosened up. But what do you expect, he has gotten up in years already, he shouldn't have acted like it's still 1998...
I wonder if anybody having the same "problem".
I keep watching Lego reviews ALL THE TIME EVERY DAY - it started a week ago when i ordered a big set and was so excited about it so i kept watching different videos reviewing it.
I watched Jangbricks before, he is my favorite, but now i fucking watch it as some kind of TV-show and cant stop watching episodes i didnt see.
Im a freelancer and need to work but i keep watching those goddamn KLOCKI videos.
PS:
By the way if you dont know about this but i would strongly recommend this challel.
Great music choice, cool animation and a very detailed view on every piece of a set!
This channel is my favorite after Jangbricks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79kdSHFnPxA&t=318s
PS:
By the way i have few head pieces from Jang's minifig. I probably need to make this person just to have Jangbricks wanderung around in my sets!

>>6159569
I heard that there is an Adventurers movie in development along with an racing movie.
Has anyone got any news about The Lego Ninjago Movie?
>>6159536
I'll do it.
>>6159570
>1x1 plates have been deposited in your parts bin.
>Jungle theme
>the sets are dominated by the same generic city vehicles as Arctic and Volcano
T-thanks Lego
>>6159565
First, dont let lego be a void filler.
Do it because you like it, appreciate other builds or like to create.
Search something that makes you happy.
I guess from your post, seek some group you can talk with. Contribute to discussion or talk. Not "You sperg" or "trololololo" but normal conversdations.
>>6159578
I have an extra if you really want it. It has a recipe book and a few parts inside.
>>6159598
It comes with a tiny friends sized apron.
>>6159570
>stop to watching
Maker a schedule, let the show be a prize after you did your work.
Hope this not channel chilling
>>6159604
lol no. I think both Jangbricks and Brickadillo dont need an introducion that much.
They are like Discovery channels in klocki universe
>>6159607
ok, Klocki universe is cool and every Klocki-ist is great.
>>6159603
The book also has recipes for come cakes. They are just simplified instructions, but it's pretty neat.
>>6159598
I'd love it, but not enough to pay the shipping.

>>6159582
be happy it's not yet another firemen/police theme
>>6159628
It's pretty small. It should fit in an envelope and cost like a less than $3.00 to ship to anywhere in the USA.
>>6159632
Oh baby, you haven't even seen the best part. The last 6 pages are basically blank and it comes with stickers! You can make your own cake recipes!
>>6159582
Eh, it's got a kinda cool half-track in there.
>>6159632
but hotdogmobile and doggomobile are fucking awesome
Personally, I absolutely love the new City sets, specifically Jungle--which says a lot considering I don't think I've ever left Licensed before!
The Jungle sets to me offer tons of Adventurers nostalgia, which only adds to their appeal. Unlike say Volcano, this wave not only has the obligatory "study" objective feeling, but also "explore", "adventure", and from what I can see so far, "treasure hunters". It all adds to the fun in my opinion, as well as a sense of danger. Sure Volcanoes are dangerous, especially if you walk right up to one, but heck a Leopard is a bit more terrifying to walk up to! The new Leopard and Panther are spectacular (I never knew I needed them until now!), as is the nice if possibly unnecessary, new Venus Fly Trap mold. And if you buy the whole wave you'll end up with three crocodiles and numerous frogs and snakes. The new Spider mold is appreciated as well. There wasn't anything wrong with the previous one, but I like that we are getting new species.
The vehicles and terrain are done well too, which is a surprise coming off of Volcano (clearly I don't think highly of that theme. Lime green is garnish). Granted my opinion may change on the terrain once we remove the sets from this staged background we're seeing (imagination can only go so far afterall!). But again, the ruined temples give an Adventurers look as does the hints of previous adventures from the crashed plane. I'll note too how well done the waterfall is. Normally I, and I assume most people, dislike the plastic sheets used (they only bring back debilitating flashbacks from that PotC set ), but the one used in 60160 looks fantastic! The largest three vehicles look the best, and I think the one included in 60161 is my favorite. They're overly huge, but they all have a strong heft and tough attitude. The small cars are all throwaways however.
Where are my Ninjago movie pics??????!!!!!!!!

I feel like, to really capture OLD NIN, I need to redo Trent. When I initially did him I was basing him off like mid 2000s NIN, then I did Robin Finke (guy with the skull shirt and stockings, IRL kind of has always been a staple in the band and always dressed the craziest) and based him off his classic shit. Was really proud of how he came out actually (thank you nexo knights for that mohawk piece)!

I've been out of the LEGO scene for nigh on 20 years. It is a constant struggle to not get sucked back into the hobby. I was passing through WM today and saw a decent sale on pic related.

seriously - do it. Lego is the best hobby.
1) lego will never goes out of theme or popularity
2) with the time your lego will only grow in price
Lego is both fun thing and a good investiment

whaaaaat theeee fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
>be me
>never do this connection because its illegal
>LEGO ACTUALLY OFICIALLY DOES THAT IN CREATOR SET
what the hell is happening? who allowed this?
Just finished the Blue Power Jet, the build was not too long nor too complex, the wings were probably the best part of it. Coloring it without the use of cheap stickers but with good brick placement was great.
Anyways, what minifigures would you guys suggest as pilots?
>>6159845
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snuhk0IwDmM#t=4m10s
idk if this is the first set that allowed it, but it's certainly a prominent feature of the build
>>6159842
Yeah, just put it together. Thanks!
>>6159845
That clip part comes in two varieties.
left - old - will break if you try that shit so the connection is illegal.
right - new - flexes instead, legal connection, Lego uses it in a bunch of sets.
It's a great model, but I needed the purple.
>>6159858
that's neat

What type of MOCs do you build and why?
I mostly make poseable characters/creatures because I find them dynamic and alive.
>>6159895
Vehicles, because my parts are in too many separate boxes and locations to create a building of substantial size.
I also like to woosh them I guess
>>6159899

What the fuck.
>all three anons didnt get it. they literally thought i meant to say "i did that" and didnt notice a big fucking emoticon ";)" that i posted at the end
Does lego causes autism?
>>6159908
It's not about autism, it's the fact that reposting someone else's thing to make the joke shows a lack of creativity
Anons what should i buy?
1) vulture minifig
2) little phoenix minifig
Can't decide. Vulture is cool, but Phoenix is almost an exclusive because he was only in 2 sets and one of them is an expensive one.
>>6159914
>still not getting the joke

Autism is a requirement for our kind!

This is going to sound stupid, but how would I go about making a minifig-scale Sweetroll? As in, the elder scrolls kind?
I think a white 1x1 round stud with hole would work for the top, but what should be on the bottom?
What is your favorite lego living creature that is not a Minifig?
Mine is this one. Its from that "Basil Batlord" mini set with Basil and Dragon.
I lost Batlord many years ago because i was autistic enough to use him as a keychain (i chained him through Stud-hole in his leg but obviously lost it because torso easily separated from legs).
But this dragon is still cool as fuck.
He believes that his master, Batlord will return from the Underworld and rule the Kingdom once again!

It's simpler than it looks, the site suffers from some bad/antiquated design.
it's more matchmaking service than web store. Find seller that has what you want, click the buy button, seller sends you paypal invoice for cost and shipping, you pay, after a while get your stuff in the mail. it happens, you can run into problems or slow/annoying sellers but it's very rare.

>click the buy button, seller sends you paypal invoice for cost and shipping, you pay,
that's one of the problems i have with Bricklink. im from europe and shipping usually super expensive from USA.

>shipping is around 30$
>youve got to be kidding me
And you can see shipping instantly. While on Bricklink its not visible.

ok i got caught on that again. Im that russian guy who hides his identity. Usually shipping is always expensive from any part of our Planet. But european stores are a little cheaper yeah.
But i see that you are right - there are tons of super cheap minifigures. Some even under 1 EUR.
I will try to order something cheap from Europe to test Bricklink.
>>6160073

>What type of MOCs do you build and why?
>I mostly make poseable characters/creatures because I find them dynamic and alive.
I usually build animal-inspired robots. I was a big fan of such stuff back then - Dr.Robotnick's creations from Sonic always had animal-based stuff.
Same thing about Megaman games.
So i just build stuff like that.
Also it was a reason why i liked Chima.
>>6159895
Mechs and vignettes. Mostly scifi stuff since it's easier because there's less "natural shapes" like tress or strange curves which are harder to do.
I'm trying to do more fantasy and character stuff though
Also i like building smaller things in microfighter scale

what you've got here is a seller selling the entire run of CMFs, with all except one priced super low just to top search results.
of course you have to buy the entire set.
look elsewhere, anon.
Have i ever posted this here? If not, feedback is very welcome.
13 studs long and 112 pieces. Not quite polybag sized.
>>6160080
It's probably part of a super lot, looks like you have to pay 88 bucks for the full set of Batman CMF.
>>6160127
Below 80 pieces and I'd say polybag tier. You can use something other than the cheese wedges in the front to save parts. also if the axles are just holding a single wheel, you can consolidate those. Looks great. 7/8, would build.

>>6160134
I have no idea, guessing maybe the seller has a minimum buy price you haven't met?
IIRC paypal does currency conversion so that shouldn't be a problem
also paypal has two options for selling CMFs - either complete set or the minifig only, without base/accessories; you might want to double-check that you're getting the one you want.

Learning from your mistakes, I'd wager.
when is Lego gonna stop making 3000 police and fire sets a year so we can get more quality City sets like this??
>>6160390
Take your favorite set that you have displayed.
Now, destroy it.
Build something out of those parts.
Sorting by color is a good place to start.
Also, look for one, maybe two pieces to build around.

When kids stop wanting them. You are not Lego's primary audience.

So...how your Brickset page looks like? (if you using the app too)
For me it all (((Really))) started at 2013 when Chima came out and i was amazed by those Crow Minifigures - they looked so "not lego" (i was amazed by their wings their helmets and amount of details).
Then i lurked moar and found that there are shit tons of new themes and sets. Also a new thing - collectable minifigure series.
I instantly got sucked in.
However dont look at the amount of things i own. Most of them are
1) Mixels
2) Minifigures
3) Nexo Knights ultimate packs.

Because it's not like they make sets telling girls they can be... Police Officers, Criminals, Construction workers, Astronauts, High powered business women with private jets and limos with a personal driver, Firefighers, Scientists, Racecar drivers, Ninjas, Pilots... no wait, they have all those things and more.
It's almost like Friends was created to give females an alternative if they didn't want to play with any of those themes.
Most of the females I know either collect things like Lego City for the diversity, or are into lots of different themes.
And I am a male and personally have interest in the Fairies line just because some of the dragon builds and fantasy style buildings.
Point being, Friends was made to "help girls be creative and fight oppressive mysoginy". It was created to appeal to young girls who want to play with lego. You might as well get mad at Lego for making Duplo to appeal to pre-schoolers.
>>6160719
>*wasn't made to "help girls be creative etc etc
>>6160719
Friends should be right next to reg lego. It looks feminine for sure, but there are males in the theme and boys are into animals too, I loved my puppy when I was s puppy. Plus friends gave us dolphin cruiser and hotdog truck. And if you think puppy parade is pandering it's dold right along with astronomy and robot workshop (my next purchase) I remember a martial arts set. Yes there is home ec stuff but boys do like that stuff too.
I think its about boys and girls being different, but ultimately liking the same things and each other.

I just read some articles about it. The second one was actually someone who was FOR gender neutrality, but complained about how it was done. The funny thing is, the reason she was upset is that her daughter went through the girl section of toys and was all "I like this, I like that" then they turned the corner into the lego section, and was like "I don't like boy toys".
So, her daughter made a conscious decision about her preference, despite "four years of parenting" all her work was undone, because of the drastic change from "girl themed" dolls and cooking, to "boy themed" Lego.
But, if she did infact spend years teaching her daughter about gender neutrality, and her response is still "I don't like boy toys" then doesn't that mean that she decided herself what her preference is? If she had started on the boys side first, would she have still reacted that way during the visit? For that matter, why DID she start her daughter off in the section full of girls toys?
All I'm sayin is, if they got this kind of flak from people who were pro gender neutrality, I can only imagine what they were receiving from the anti gender neutrality side of things.

>>6160529
Ok i have a question - i finally want to try to sell something myself first time in my life.
And i have these Ninjago minifigs+parts i dont need. I simply bought all those sets for pirate ships and snakes and put Ninjago minifigs/gold weapons away in my minifig-containers, so they were never touched sinse they were bought.
What price you would recommend me to put?
Also i think i should do it on Ebay - i have a lot of positive feedback on it so i will look more trust-worthy for a first-time seller?

search ebay for the various characters and see how much they are selling for individually. Same with the weapons and character studs. But honestly I would keep the weapons and vehicle, because, you can totally use those as parts for building MOCs.
>>6160860
>search ebay for the various characters and see how much they are selling for individually.
yeah i thought so too - also on Bricklink + choosing medium price.
I wanted to put vehicle and stuff just to rise the price. i think those few minifigs are way too cheap to bother with packing and shipping...

Also, yes, my parents are disappointed in me for a wide variety of reasons. The fact that I'm 32 and talking about toys on 4chan probably isn't helping.
>>6160835
What's amazing is that this is the only set, EVER, to include trans-clear 1x1 cones. Considering that this set is canonically Coca-Cola, that means that 1x1 round cones in trans-clear are a licensed exclusive part.
>>6160982
I don't think it works that way. Licenses apply to specific molds (which is why we didn't see lightsaber hilts in non-SW sets for years), but I don't think they extend to colors. With the one exception being "Maersk Blue," and that's because the actual color in its entirety is trademarked by Maersk.

I love the SNOT keys, definitely looks better than the grill pieces that usually get used. I'd keep the black keys as tiles/plates like you did for the one that's depressed. The lip on the modified plates is a bit too extreme; at that scale, the keys look more like girders.
>>6160994
"Licensed pieces" aren't a thing. The only reason we don't see Vader helmets or Batcowls in other themes is because they resemble their characters too much to be anything else.
Otherwise set designers are free to use so-called "licensed pieces" as they see fit. Wolverine's claws and Thor's hammer appeared in the Monster Hunters theme in the same year. The One Ring showed up in Parisian Restaurant in the same color, and has since appeared in a few other non-licensed sets. The crown of the Witch-King from The Hobbit got a recolor in Disney Castle. The various molds created specifically to emulate characters from Cars made their way into the Ferrari polybags.
Sometimes pieces that are made specifically for licenses show up in non-licensed stuff first: the Green Goblin's hat and ears combo was released in CMF13; Harley Quinn's New 52 pigtails were given to CMF14's Zombie Cheerleader; TLBM Bruce Wayne's sweet new hairdo came in blonde with the CMF16 Dog Show Judge.
Pieces are made for licensed sets all the time, but none of them are exclusive to those themes.
The Maersk Blue deal is correct though.

Many sellers are willing to send you photos of real items if you ask them
Ok i did few orders on bricklink and already sweating.
What the actual fuck...
First of all - i already did a mistake by sending payment TWICE
1) After receiving an Invoice, i went to my Paypal and sent money.
2) then and only then i noticed that my order is still "Waiting for Payment" and button "PAY onsite".
Which means that it will be "paid" only when i press that "pay" button?
What the hell?
1) I sent a message to the guy i bought from asking if its possible to return money that i sent first?
2) and clicked Pay button.
Im fucking retarded. But bricklink also a goddamn clusterfuck by autistic design and the way things being done. This is awful.
PS:
Then - i have a question about how this whole payment being done. because i paid for another Order that at this time didnt have "PAY" button (because i didnt choose "Pay Onsite" option)
It goes like this, right?
1) I receive an Invoice that says "Please send me xx.xx EUR to this paypal account: [email protected]"
2) I send money to that adress and write my Order number and details in description of that money transfer information.
3) Then i go back to bricklink and answer to Invoice message saying "HEY I SENT YOU MONEY FROM THIS ADRESS. HOPE ITS OK!"
Right? Am i doing it right?
this how my orders page looks like now
those "Paid" orders are those that had "PAY ONSITE" buttons.
>>6161098
You don't have to answer to invoice message, the seller will notice himself that he received payment.

I had a small break (around 20 years). Bought a few sets in December last year and here I am now. A lot of those sets are obviously small ones (polybags or below 20 USD), but there are a few big ones as well (Misforunes Keep and Destinies Bounty).
I'd like to slow down, since I feel I'm burning too fast, but at the same time it's been 20 years... I have missed so many, many good looking sets.
The sets between 1994-2016 were bought by my nephew who took over my collection and was nice enough to return it as he just got into the usual young adult stuff (he turned 18 recently).
Also by Brickset collection isn't really complete as I simply don't remember exactly which I owned and which simply just looked amazing so I remembered them well.
