Has anybody bought the ANH Luke cloth tunic from that one Ebay seller?
In the pic he has it with the black series figure but I'm wondering how good it would look with the Figuarts.
>>
I too browse Facebookdotcom OP
>>
>>6154673
It would probably look too bulky because of how the shirt is sculpted on the Figuarts. The lower part of the tunic and the belt are also one part so you'd probably have to trim that.

It's an okay figure, nothing special. I'd rather have ROTJ Luke but I don't really want to pay that much for a single figure. I hope they make a Bespin Luke at some point.

I paid £31 for him in total, considering the Black Series would've cost me £20 I think the choice was obvious.

Probably this asshole. He's sort of not even a good toy, what with the mildly shitty joints and nonexistant ab crunch. The design is my favorite though so he gets a pass, and the bike puts him way over the top.

Honestly, I just took a look through the rest of my stuff and if I had to do a top five, most of it would be troopers of some sort.

Sabine, K2, and the hunt for grievous Fordo are pretty great for me. The Revoltech Boba Fett is also pretty nice but that second floating belt just wont stay in place for me and it pisses me off. Probably gonna try and pick up the RotJ Mafex soon as a result.
K2SO is amazing though, one of the few BS figures I have that can pass my personal articulation test of doing a convincing slav squat by itself. Favorite black series figure hands down.

My IG-86 and Disneyland Build A Droid black R4. IG-86 has so much articulation, and woth R4 are the only figures I head cannon. IG-86 is a survivor of the clone wars and has kind of a "scud the disposable assassin" persona. R4 and he have a similar yet more disfunctional relationship compared to Artoo and Threepio. Their ride is an abandoned Jedi Starfighter.

For some reason Original Trilogy Collection Yoda was a big favorite and I remember being heartbroken when his arm snapped off at the elbow. Saga Collection Commander Cody was cool too. But for obscurity sake I'm gonna go with this guy. Barely any articulation, can't hold his lightsaber, but just so cool to see a realistic Clone Wars character. Also liked how big he was.

In its heyday, we'd get at least 40 new 3 3/4 inch figures a year. Usually more. Even with many of those being repacks, repaints, & kit bashes, it didn't take 3 years just to get one of the trilogies main cast.
>>
>>6157579
I remember when they were doing those figures with the magnetically attached limbs for battle damage action. Those were pretty fun.

But my favorite time to collect was when hasbro was making 3.75 scale Starwars, G.I. Joe, and Marvel toys. Deadpool teaming up with Snake Eyes. Stormtroopers versus Cobra Vipers. Spider-man in a Mobat Tank. So good.
>>
>>6157178
I used to collect mainly 1:18 scale. The variety in vehicles and accessories is nice. I just wish hasbro didn't kill it with the 5POA and making the higher articulated series way too expensive.
>>
>>6157655
>way too expensive
man those 2 grand 3.75 inch figure sure are disappointing huh
that's real hot toys money right there
>>
>>6157587
Hasbro still is making 3.75 stuff.

I just bought some brand new Cobra Vipers and a couple death troopers also a few Marvel figures.
>>
>>6157696
Yeah, but it's in much smaller numbers and the quality of what they do make isn't always the best. Before they were making so much stuff, that even if there were the occasional misses, there was still stuff I had interest in. Lately only the Walmart Exclusive 3.75 lines are all I care about.
>>
>>6157671
If you don't get lucky enough to walk into a Wal-Mart as they're stocking the 3.75 Black Series you practically have to pay Hot Toys prices to buy a wave.
>>
>>6157575
So glad I waited for a Ren. Figufags and Hasblos are probably gutted right now. They are stuck with literal shit heaps of plastics, and the latecomers get are getting a definitive version of Kylo Ren.
>>
>>6157333
>Hera
now that's a figure i need in my life.
>>
>>6157671
why pay 15 bux for a small figure when you can spend 5 dollars more for the bigger one. The price difference makes it pointless. They should be at most 10 bux.
>>
>>6157575
This looks great.

Glad I ordered this and the phasma. I'll sell my figuarts ones now.
>>
>>6157837
but i did find this one last weekend. Only 1:18 black series figure I've bought.
>>
So Black Series isn't getting a Rogue One stormtrooper? That seems a little weird, doesn't it?
>>
>>6157837
>Being this anal over 2$
If it's really that big of a deal for you then either stick to 1/12th or buy the cheaper 5PoA. 2-5$ is nothing in this hobby anon. Much less 20-50.
This is not the hobby to be cheap with.
>>
>>6157837
They're $30 in Canada :(
>>
>>6157908
It was a pretty big misstep, in my opinion. Troopers always sell unless they're overpacked, everyone likes the OT design, and the black series stormtrooper needed an update anyway.
>>
>>6157918
I do.
>>
I would give anything for more KOTOR figures. They did Bastilla in the 3.75" black series line. God I would love a 6" version of that, and a Darth Malak.
>>
>>6157918
I don't think it's so much about being cheap as about being bitter about the combination of a raise in price and a drop in quality. The last two figures I purchased were Rey and Jyn respectively, and both suffered from gummy plastic that made their joints feel weak and flimsy. And you can't really argue that it's because they are female character figures, because I have an Aayla Secura and Oola from the Vintage Collection, and their quality is just fine.

It would have been acceptable to raise the price point and give us the same quality, but to raise the price point and lower the quality of the product is just kind of a slap in the face.

I don't have much experience with the new 5POA line, but it just feels like a step backwards. At least with POTF2, they had some decent action poses. I'll still use POTF2 and AOTC era figures as background characters if the sculpt is decent. But these ones are more like the original 80s figures. Static poses more suitable for fastfood kidsmeal toys.
>>
Black Series Thrawn when
>>
>>6158022
Soon I'd imagine.
Expect that to be Revan mk.2
>>
>>6158025
Will it be Rebels thrawn or will they go the comic route and just have red eyes, maybe gloves?
>>
>>6157908
>>6157927
Hell, even if they just repacked the original Stormtrooper it'd be something. Not ideal, because that Stormtrooper could definitely use an update, but it'd be better than nothing.
>>
>>6158051
Definitely Rebels Thrawn. Their Rebels figures have been selling well.
>>
>>6157837
The 6" line are just upscaled 3 3/4" figures anyway with some added articulation (Knees for example). The tooling and detail is exactly the same.

>>6158016
I can't comment on those figures because I haven't found them yet (UK) but Kylo, the Stormtrooper, Finn and Phasma are very good figures. Even Han and Leia are moderately okay- it's just the head sculpts let the figure down.
>>
>>6157575
The face is okay looking, but holy shit is everything else great

>>

This was the best line that was attached to a movie. Lots of action features, but if you weren't into that there was a normal nicely articulated alternative of the same character on shelves at the same time. Quality paint jobs, good sculpts, good articulation, great range of characters and always seemed to be stocked well. They all came with a stand that was themed off of a location in the movie and could be attached to similar stands. Great variety of vehicles too. Not to mention they were pretty cheap. If only things could still be this way.
>>
>>6157671
Considering they were just 8 dollars like 4 years ago, yeah it's a bit steep. Plus half of the ones since it becoming an exclusive Wal-Mart line have been repacks.
>>
>>6158572
I don't mind the repacks desu. I got an Ahsoka after missing out on the VC version.
>>
>>6158535

I almost spent $80 on this thing. I'm so glad I passed, that really was not worth any of the extra money they were asking.
>>
>>6157908
The original 12 characters Kenner did are getting released as Black Series to celebrate the 40th anniversary. Tons of repacks are coming, it's all over the Rebel Scum forums. Don't buy Han, R2, or the Stormtroopers for anything over retail and just wait it out.
>>
>>6158617
I don't either, in fact I'm all for it as I missed out on the entire TVC line, but I feel like if the majority are repacks it should be cheaper.
>>
>>6158713
Wait, so the old original Black Series waves are getting rereleased? Fucking when? I need a Stormtrooper and Boba Fett badly
>>
>>6158741
Not the original Black Series Waves. Farmboy Luke, the Leia we just got, the Obi-Wan we just got, the Walgreen C-3PO, the Tusken Raider we're about to get, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, R2-D2, Han Solo, and the OT Stormtrooper are all supposedly getting rereleased to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. Somebody found Wal-Mart and Target listings for them. The word is they're going to be released on big ass Vintage Cards. Mostly repacks but a lot of them are going for a lot on secondary market so not too bad. Also apparently Leia's face is getting fixed so maybe hold off on getting her.

6 inch Jawa and Death Star Commander are also listed with this line. Rumour is we're getting an official announcement at Toy Fair.
>>
>>6158754
Ah, alright, thanks for clarifying. Definitely want a lot of those, only ones of those I already have are ANH Luke and that C-3PO.

Can I mention how I hate that if it isn't a black series figure, a star wars action figure will have about 6 six points of articulation. The two figures on the left are from 1997 and 2004 (I think. I'm too lazy to get them) but the other figure is from 2015 and has less articulation.
>>
>>6158831

The quality of the basic 3.5" figures between the late 90's and like 2010 or so was honestly unparalleled. They all had a ton of detail and articulation. The Black Series now are more or less what the smaller figures used to be. Hasbro knows it too and are just being huge Jews.

enjoy your lazily unfinished looking models, because that's how K2SO looks, same as this shit.

I bet you also think Bandai's models aren't super popular with little kids, just because the box says they'll be poisoned by the new moon for touching something meant for 10+ year olds.
>>
>>6160781
I just picked a random model kit off a website. But sure, just disregard it, because you have no valid argument against it.

>>6160788
Maybe some people just enjoy the process of assembling the model and don't necessarily feel the need or have the skill to go into painting them. An unpainted model looks better than a poorly painted model. Especially if it has a variety of colored pieces to compensate for the lack of paint.

And just so you know, the age requirements on the box are for legal safety reasons. I'm sure there are children under ten with the motor skills to assemble a model and the good sense not to eat the pieces, but for legal purposes, if your 7 year old chokes on a piece of plastic, the company can say "hey, it says ages 10 and up on the box". So, there's my answer to that nice little nonsequitur.

It really depends on the kit. If you choose a model with a multitude of color separation (e.g. Boba Fett, any of the Rebel ships) then yeah, you can expect a lot of work involved to make it look screen accurate.

But if you choose a character/ship with relatively simple design and less color separation (e.g. Stormtrooper, TIE Fighter), then you can be confident that it won't require as much work out of the box to look good.

And before anyone suggests just buying Black Series because it's cheap, keep in mind not everyone lives in the US, and model kits can sometimes work out cheaper than importing Hasbro figs.
>>

>The 6" line are just upscaled 3 3/4" figures anyway with some added articulation (Knees for example). The tooling and detail is exactly the same.
Except my 3 3/4 troopers came with multiple accessories, removable helmets, and plenty of articulation.
My six inch figs are lucky if they come with one accessory, the articulation often feels less than a 3 3/4, and good luck getting an anything trooper with a face.

TRU doesn't care what you think or what you want. Manager markdowns only get put on stupid shit, it sure as fuck won't happen to Black Series figures, and since Hasbro uses the same SKU for every wave, it's still a living number that will continue to pegwarm.

Oh, anonymous, how your standards have fallen.

>4chan thread are dead.
Despite being almost nothing but GI Joe discussion and made up of about/nearly/over 100 people in every weekly general thread, dead is a relative thing, huh?

>You have to go into the Fb groups
So how about them scotsmen who aren't?
>>
>SHF Farm Luke, Mace and Ep I Obi all have removable lightsaber blades
>Ep II Obi doesn't

For what purpose. I don't want to hamhand it.

Are you seriously implying that looks good? He's bright fucking orange for starters...

>>
>>6162739

I really wanted a Zuckerberg figure but man that looks like hot garbage.
>>
>>6163003
Do you mean they all came with bladeless lightsabers? Pretty sure none of those had removable blades
>>
Which Stormtrooper figure is the best right now, /toy/?
>>
>>6163285
I just got the figuarts Rogue One version, loving him
>>
>>6162691
With the ANH 40th anniversary coming up and them releasing the original 12 in both scales... i'd say it's about 75% we get a Rebel trooper in the next year. If not I'd be very surprised.

Also UK TRU has 25% off Star Wars, not sure if it's in store as well but it is online.
With the Tie being £60 that now makes it £45. I think I might have to drag one home for that price.
TBS is also on sale so if you wanted them, they should have the new figures reduced as well- ludicrous.

It also makes the Moroff and Scariff Stormtrooper two pack a tempting offer.
>>
>>6163303
With TRU having an offer on TBS, do you think Argos could price match them?
>>
>>6163233
I only have Farm boy Luke, but it definitely has a hilt and removable blade
>>
>>6163303
Hasbrotoyshop is also having what appears to be a 50% off on some of it's star wars products. Mostly the 5POA stuff.
>>
>>6163387
UK, every damn time. always annoying they don't sell here.

>In b4 they do on ebay.
>no ebay account, no do not want one.
>>

the model kit
>>
>>6163399
The Hasbrotoyshop one is U.S.

And it's not really advertised on the site, I just noticed some of the 5POA, Hero Mashers, and Galactic Heroes toys were marked down 50%
>>
>>6163407
Yeah that's why it annoys me. US only!

Yeah your kit doesn't resemble the movie Bazingabot, but it looks well as an droid straight out of the assembly line. I'll display it along with the Imps.

Probably worth mentioning he an exception, rather than the norm for Mafex figures (at least for now).
>>
>>6164151
that doesnt look too great to me, but to be fair the stock photo doesnt look like driver too much. mafex uses weird fleshtones that almost make everyone look yellow. looks like they lost some detail in the hair too.
still, not bad

i finally put mine together and I was blown away by how much better it is than the BS. I'm considering selling mine off for more model kits. Anyone know if the joints on these guys get floppy over time?

i just noticed this post.

You're really trying to prove a point by posting an early preproduction black and white image?
I guess this photo from the same set means he's not a brownish yellow guy wearing multiple colors and should only be in sepia tone as well.

I swear, it's like your eyes aren't even connected to your brain.

Vintage Stock in Edmond has a Darth Revan. The fuckheads got the case in and marked everyone the regular price, and pulled that one aside and marked it $39.99.
