The quality control on the paint is shit. I guess they had to cut some corners in order to make such a big, solid toy so cheap at retail though. Other than the shabby paint, the toy is really fucking nice all put together. The sounds are surprisingly fun too.

I put these out, they look decently enough, but it's gonna be a pain the complete since the smaller lions are 4 to a box, and the black lion is in it's own box at 2 each. So you can only make one complete voltron per shipment of two different boxes.

I have the combiner. I really like it, but I recommend shaving down the tabs on the Red and green connection prong things a little bit. Red separates from Black just fine, but I had to jam a screwdriver into the hole on Green's prong and pry it out with so much force it flew across the room.

I've used that method and mine still does not come apart easy. Plus with that method you can scratch the black lions shoulders (as you're using it for leverage). Mine takes a lot of pulling, so much that I'm pulling the black lions shoulder in the opposite direction so it doesn't stress and break off as well

That was the cheap non transforming figure. Anyone who thought that was how it works, has never looked at the full toy line up for any Marvel movie.

There is a "proper" Megazord made of the 5 machine ( each sold separately) that do combine into a Megazord that is taller than the most recent Metroplex.

You can give it some pretty good poses. The knees are practically double-jointed thanks to the Black Lion's knees. They can go the full way around, but there's not much to do with it. Regular knees bend 90 degrees.

Elbows can bend about 60 degrees, but can cross a small ways across the chest. Fairly good rotation, but not the best.

I've been staring at these Paladin figures for a while and my best guess is they have 11 points of articulation. Ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, hinge elbows, wrist swivels, ball hinge thighs, and hinge knees.

The first TMNT 2012 Playmates wave had the same exact articulation. It's pretty good. Certainly not on the same level as say Hasbro, but for Playmates this is about as good as it gets.

They come with their weapons and their helmets look removable. Pretty good for Playmates honestly, I'm impressed.

Got the black lion tonight for $22 at a Target, and I ordered the others for $89.99

Meaning 3~5 Black Lions with no limbs to go with them.

Anyone out there 3D printing accessories for these guys, or doing mods of any kind? I've been meaning to get into toy modding and these guys are gonna push me to actually start. If any of you do end up going to a shop though, grab the limb lions if you see them. They're shipping out plenty of the black lion and not enough of the limb lions.

Got the whole set, and forming the legs first, I was really blown away by the leg articulation. Then I made the giant oversized arms that can't bend at the elbow for shit and have no real articulation and I felt really sad.

I know their reasoning for making the arm lions fuckhuge is keeping shit is for the sake of parents not freaking out over big and small lions at the same $18 price point, but would scaling them back even 5% really been so bad

Not only did the original series leave out a lot of the bonding that the Netflix incarnation features, but Keith went to black lion almost immediately.

He piloted the green lion for one mission while the key for black was missing and Pidge was scouting Doom forces. Once the key was found he was given black and Pidge took over for green.

There's no doubt Keith will most likely lead the team (Though it could be interesting if Allura steps in as leader), but this version of the show is really stressing the bonds the pilots have with their respective lions. I'd have no problem with him leading the team while still piloting red lion.

It's less of a distraction when he arms are up and not down at his side. The onyl issue is paint chipping on the Green lions mouth.

Due to the design not matching the show the lion has an underbite and the mouth doesnt close properly, so the sping jaw slams the mouth closed and the paint chips.

The Trendmasters has paint apps replaced by stickers or just absent, the stickers are worse quality, has more muted paint and plastic colors, the mold seems to have degraded here and there, the horns can't open completely, there are some changes in color that makes it less screen accurate (Voltron's face, arm lions tails), and the red and green lions have weird fins on their backs. The plastic quality seems to be worse, too.

The only thing better in the Trendmasters version is the inclusion of all the weapons.
