Why do they bother making gimmicky kids' toys like these when the movie's dark and gritty, supposedly aimed at grown-up fans from the 90s?

Or the other way round,

Why do they bother making the movies dark and gritty when they are making it to sell kids' toys?

Kids like dark and gritty.

I've always loved the flip heads, but I don't understand the point of making them out of scale gimmick figures. I also don't understand how every iteration of the flip heads manages to get progressively worse. The originals had good articulation for the time, and they were as slim as they could be given the feature. Why do they keep trying to over-complicate something they got right over 20 years ago?

Turbo had some pretty good ones. Proportions where wonky, but what was cool is that they tried to make more of the chest flip along with the head, so that the chest would look different in civilian form. Kinda piointless, ut neat.

You wanna see a real trainwreck, check put Bandai Japan's attempts at automorphing rangers from the 90's.

if you don't mind the 2 females using the male bodies, I guess.

Built like linebackers and reduced articulation in the arms. This was where Bandai started to over-complicate things, and the figures suffered as a result. We didn't need the chest to change or the pointless action feature in the arm.

They'd either end up being oversized or the human heads would be undersized. Swappable heads is the way to go. Sadly they've only gone that route once.

Fags think everything is "dark and gritty". Anyway, kids will watch "adult" stuff, because there isn't that big of a separation between things meant for wide audiences and kid's mentality. Don't pretend you didn't watch terminator or Aliens when you where younger. Really hate the whole "think of the children" hypocrisy people have with things like this.

> I also don't understand how every iteration of the flip heads manages to get progressively worse.
short answer? They sell the same or better. Hasbro's "Titan Hero" line for their Marvel and TF brands was a test of the market to see how well inexpensive toys sell to the kids market. Allegedly one case of TH toys is about a $1 a figure meaning if two sell at cost you just made 200% back(a case is 6), it's why stores get glutted with them so easily, cheap to make and cheap to profit. Most toy companies want to sell what a kid will buy at minimum cost. Case in point if >>6107464 sells the same or worse than say >>6106068 then they have no reason to step up their game, if anything that's a call to scale down in quality.
>>
>>6107591
Fuck up. Meant to type a case is 16 figures however I've been told they to smaller case assortments for dollar style stores

It's funny that Mattel caught on to this as well but started giving theirs actual articulation for the same price. Rarely do we see hasbro out jew mattel but it's happened.
>>
>>6106068

>Brings back the gimmick
>Has less paint
> Limited articulation due to putting the flip gimmick into the leg

How the hell do the toys from the 90s win today?

This movie is doomed

Hate me, but these are perfect for kids. Lots of articulation on toys made for small children are breaks and frustrations waiting to happen and the size is about what I could see a kid wanting out of something he smashes around all day.
>>
>>6111781
spoken like a true stingy jew exec. kys

if you want to share annecdotes. when I was small I was frustrated with less articulated figures when there was a more articulated options out there.
I never smashed around my figures like some neanderthal cave-child.
I would only accidentally break toys trying to open them up to see how their gimmicks work.
>>
>>6111851
I second your experience.
I wonder if people literally forget what it's like to be a child or they just become soccer mom-tier in their lack of understanding of children at some point in their life.

Now, I've seen kids smashing their toys like retards but I've only seen them doing so with toys that were designed for it; which only makes me think that kids are smart enough to pick up on the play-patterns designated to each toy.
