Waiting for a price drop. Got some clone troopers lately and they were so nice. I love how you get two helmets with each, the helmets alone are going to make some fun paperweights.

> tfw overbent the Battle droids right ankle joint and it's loose as hell now

I guess there is no way to get free replacement parts outside of Japan, or is there? I hope they change the BDs up for the inevitable (hopefully soon) single-release. I feel like this wouldn't have happened had they made the limbs out of hard plastic and made them assemble yourself instead of moulding PVC in layers over each other.

How's the range on the hips? I still haven't really found a stormtrooper that's dealt with the armor limiting them.
>>
>>6074918
You pretty much get 90 degrees forward and outwards, but they're on drop-downs, so it looks weird.
>>
>>6073599
I have the DT but I'm not allowed to build it until christmas

Sandtrooper here. I suppose if you want dynamic, you could get it, but it's better for more natural poses where the torso armor does impare the range of motion. Bottom image is the right hip pushed up and the left hip dropped down all the way.

I love this model.
>>
What I can't figure out about these models is why the fingers look so phoned-in
>>
>>6074956
Wow just realized they give you a second top half of the head. So you can adjust that black line and make it look like the OG sand trooper. Fuckin crazy. Love this thing. Anyone have the first order topper? I wanna get him and the deathrooper
>>
>>6075050
I have the FO, the Sandtrooper, 3PO, Phasma, BB-8, R2 and R5, and a spare R2 that hasn't been built yet. The FO Trooper blow the Black Series out of the water, but I'd imagine the SHF or Mafex are better. Just can't beat the accessories and poseability. Especially if you get a Stage Act 4 on it.
>>
>>6073599
I've never built a model kit before but I'm really interested in this as I found it for a good price (living in New Zealand) Would this be a good place to start?
>>
>>6077034
Yeah, the Stormtrooper or Sandtrooper kits are pretty good places to start. Straightforward build and not much work required to look screen accurate (I do recommend painting the mouth vents grey instead of using the sticker).

As for tools, a pair of nippers and a hobby knife are sufficient.
>>
>>6077048
Thanks mate I'll order it soon, might get a few more if all goes well
>>
When is the giant Stormtrooper out, I want to know how it looks and how much different it is.
And if the Shoretrooper uses the same cloth as Phasma for the kama.

>>6077034
Was my first 6 inch figure at all. Got it in January, now I have like 12 different ones.
>>
>>6073599
anyone have good pics of the death trooper? I'm thinking of getting him.

Do you think these kits would be alright for a first time newfag such as myself?
I'd want to grab a tool set along with a kit and i don't know if 50$ would be worth it for both just to fuck it up.
But they honestly look like the best 1/12th scale OT Storm Troopers so I'm torn.
>>
>>6078298
I started with the FO Trooper, a pair of cheap snippers from eBay and standard X-Acto blades I already had. Everything went better than expected. Just read through some guides on how to get the pieces off the trees and effectively clean the nubs. Still no filing or painting on my end, but I've gotten better at cleaning the nubs off after my 6th kit. Still gotta go back and build the R2 from the BB8 kit and knock some accessories front the trees on the other kits.
>>
>>6078298
How fucking long is that Stormtrooper's arm?
>>
>>6073599
I really liked them when i got them but the heads on both of mine have gotten pretty loose, they fall forward/backwards instead of staying where you pose them.
>>
>>6078298
I cut all my models with my fingernail scissors lol.

Injection seams are 99% of the time hidden by other parts on the finished model or on the inside of a part. I always start cutting out parts that are on the inside to get a feeling for hitting the right spots before I take on for the white armor plates.

The worst that happened to me were the injection seems on my first troopers shoes being very visible and rough. That kind of detail is nothing when comparing the model kit with a Black Series Stormie.
>>
>>6078298
Go for it, Bandai makes the most beginner-friendly model kits. Don't forget to pop in the plastic model thread for cool tips and pics.

Some of the usual Japanese plamo blogs have already posted reviews for the 1/6 Stormtrooper and the Death Trooper, but I haven't seen any reviews for the Shoretrooper or K-2SO yet.

Which kit should I buy first: Vader or FO trooper?
>>
>>6079394
>http://bandai-hobby.net/sw/jp/products/k2so.html
I haven't got the Vader kit, but the FO Trooper is a great first build experience.
>>
Anyone get the shoretrooper yet? Mines on the way
>>
>>6079394
For me Vader's stickers were pain in the ass. I decided to remove every single one sticker and painted him instead. Also handle of lightsaber is black so it should be painted too. Details, but still needs more work than troopers I believe.
>>
>>6073921
No, you totally seem like a cool person. I'd totally hang out with you at a party.

Fucking sperg
