I don't recall seeing them in a while. Keep in mind that the only reason Moxie Girlz is even a thing is because MGA needed a place holder doll line to take the place Bratz after a judge ordered them to take all Bratz off of toy shelves do to the shady Mattel lawsuit against them. Moxie Girlz are basically Bratz dolls who have more pronounced noses.

I've been meaning to buy one for a while now, but haven't because they are a little pricy, and the budget dolls have zero elbow, wrist, and knee joints. Than last month I bumped into one at the Goodwill for a dollar. Someone bought it for the outfit, and than donated the naked doll body. You could tell that it was new because her hair was still in it's plastic holder. I should really think about adding more of these to my collection next year.

Pretty. Not a fan of molded on clothing, but I would totally buy this doll if it were out today. Sadly they probably wouldn't allow her to have a bare midriff now a days.

For me,the faces are extremely LIV creepy. The clothes are the only nice thing on a very limited body. The idea behind them seems nice though, but the crappy bodies make them a no go. MH and EAH have extremely well done bodies even if the quality on the clothes and now faces is going down.

>>
Quite a few people who ordered the Snow White dolls from Chinese sellers have been getting their dolls and boxes damaged because of poorly thought out packing. Whomp whomp.
>>
>>6039767
I got one last year at an antique sale for $15, and turned out to have dolls inside. Not in the greatest shape but I now have two original Kens, two Skippers and a Skooter.

There's a weirdly common trend at the shows here for vintage toy booths to be 99% boys toys and have only a handful of token girl items. The girl items are often super dirty, labeled wrong, and for some reason either just under market value enough to be a tempting deal or for completely insane scalper prices. What I mean is that I've seen, at the same show, someone with a handful of common G1 MLP for $2-3 (pretty standard, maybe a little less than collectors would trade for) and someone a few tables over with the same ones labeled $25 each.

I'm a slowpoke. I see tumblr shat all over them months ago, but the company just started paying for yt/insta shills this week. How embarrassing this PR from The Daily Fail is:
>Party's over, Barbie! Meet the woman whose Harajuku-inspired dolls are set to shake up the toy industry
>Madeleine Hunter, 29, has designed and created Shibajuku Girls dolls
>The dolls draw inspired from Japanese Harajuku and Shibuya street style
>'I've made the doll large than any doll on the shelf. It's 13 inches and the standard doll size is 11 and a half inches,' Ms Hunter said.

'I also went back to that really natural and pretty face, I know there are a lot of monster dolls and vampires are a huge trend, but since Barbie there hasn't really been a pretty doll.'
>She drew inspiration from Taylor Swift and her two pet cats with feline-inspired clothes and accessories, and the dolls have hair clips can be used in little girls' hair as well.

How conceited and ignorant. Her father runs a toy company, and she pressured him into greenlighting this fail. I don't know what's worse, making a crummy Pullip knockoff and pretending it's OC donut steal, taking years to convince people to invest in a grossly overpriced clone, or putting her own family business in the hole just to make a poor knockoff of a toy whose original producer went bankrupt. That's a ton of fail.

There is nothing natural about that doll at all. I get offended on behalf of the little girls that toy manufacturers apparently think are retarded. Did no one take the time to ask a group of the "target demographic" (quotes because I think we all know Ms. Snowflake over here is the real target) if this was an appealing doll? It's not appealing to moms. It's not appealing to kids. This is going to be yet another quirky Japanese inspired doll that goes straight to the clearance bin. Or worse- Marshal's.

Obitsu made a lifesize doll that's totally not intended for sexing by rich NEETs. I think there's also been a couple of other commercially made Japanese lifesized BJDs out there. However, they were VERY costly, so you might as well be getting a Real Doll at that point.

Just a heads up to the anon who said he wanted to get a Disney Store Moana doll before the quality of the doll starts to go down. You might wanna get her if you already haven't.

I just got back from Disney Store, and the Classic Moana doll which was once being sold for $19.99 is now being sold for $10 in a smaller, and different looking box. I picked it up because it was only $10.

The doll has significantly drop in quality. Here's a list of what I noticed upon opening it.

1)The box no longer turns into a boat

2) She doesn't come with her wooden paddle

3)She had less hair so it doesn't have the fluffy volume of hair that the first one had

4)Her joints are way more loss, flimsy, and almost move on their own.

5)She comes with the cheap dress that we've seen in the singing Moana doll set which is made of cheaper material, and has a lot less details on it. It still has those golden strings on the inside of her dress tho.

>>
>>6050549
I'm interested to see what they churn out for Beast, but not dedicated to getting anything.
>>
>>6050549
Based on the previous Film Collection lines, and the fact that Belle is probably the only human female that will get any screen time, and the fact that it's BATB and Disney will probably treat it similar to Cinderella's LA, I'm expecting:

Belle in her blue/peasant dress single doll
Beast single doll
Gaston doll
Belle and Beast ballroom 2-doll set

Then a larger set released slightly later with the prince with his human face, Belle in a different costume (wedding dress? pink dress?) and either Gaston + a bunch of figures or maybe a surprise doll like Maurice or something.

It makes me sad that for years collectors begged for more licensed designer dolls, but when Mattel finally agreed, it just turned out to be all-molded-on gimmicky shit from The Three Blondes or whatever it was, and then shitposts in the form of dolls from Moschino. Hoping for a cute Belle in her Blue Dress. The Ballgown is a huge disappointment for me personally, I can't imagine liking it any more in doll form. I'm particularly turned off by Emma and her snooty attitude towards wearing a corset like it's some sort of feminist statement. It's probably just because when Cinderella came out people lost their damn mind over how tiny Ella's waist looked. Shame because the Cinderella dress was so beautiful, especially compared to this short bus yellow prom dress we're getting for Belle. I wish there was something more baroque about the gown, a nod to the fact that this is a French fairytale.
>>
>>6052059

>>6052535

>>
>>6052791
The "Emma wanted Belle to wear a dress that wasn't restricting" bothers me, mainly because there are so many historically based options in between "a dress with a restrictive Lily James corset" and "modern prom dress." If they wanted to use the dress as a way of Belle expressing that she doesn't want to be restricted by society, which I think is fine even though it's unnecessary, at least keep the dress looking remotely in line with the rest of the film's costumes.

It's not like Belle's ballgown had to be elaborate or very detailed to be gorgeous. Cinderella's dress was very simple, the beauty comes from the many layers, the fabric, the color (although I prefer the color of the actual dress vs the oversaturated blue filter) and the movement. Belle's dress has no presence at all.

>>
>>6055239
>I posted it as an example to prove that it can be done.

It can be done, you say, but neither of those examples successfully made attractive rooted hair bows that are turned down. And neither of those were a mass-manufactured doll. You've already been told why they can't make the buns go downward in a mass made doll with rooted hair, and you've yet to find any examples of a mass made doll where they do... or even a custom OOAK where they successfully make them look not like a pile of shit.

I completely agree. I remember going to see Cinderella in the theater and being absolutely blown away by how beautiful her costume was. I loved the rhinestones on her curls and the luscious way the fabric of her dress moved when she danced with the Prince. It felt like Disney knew just how important Cinderella was to people and they wanted to make her the ultimate Princess fantasy.

In contrast Belle looks so simple. She really does look like she's going to prom there's no special details or accessories. Even her hair and makeup look uninspired.
>>
>>6055921
Disney really did the magic of Cinderella justice. There were literal gasps and a sort of ~wave of approving murmurs~ when her gown was transformed and when she showed up at the ball in my (to be fair, sold out, opening night, so the energy was very high) theater. Even the snotty boy sitting in the row behind me, who loudly let everyone know before the movie started that "I DIDN'T WANT TO SEE A STUPID FAIRY TALE MOVIEEEEEEE" said, "WOAH"
>>
>>6055957
Cinderella looked and felt like a love letter to both fairy tales and Disney. BatB looks like a Maleficent-tier cashgrab.
>>
>>6055957
>>6055965

I think I remember reading once that Disney was in financial trouble when the original Cinderella first came out and they put everything they had into it. Cinderella basically saved the studio and you can really feel the love and gratitude in the live action version. The whole dress transformation/ ball scene was so well crafted and beautiful, I remember everyone in the theater gasping and murmuring too. Even now whenever I see it I get a little emotional, it really was very cool.

I'm really hoping Beauty and the Beast doesn't get the Maleficent treatment, that movie was such a travesty. They absolutely ruined the three good fairies by making them bumbling and selfish. And while I'll admit Angelina looked good the only scene she really ever FELT like Maleficent was the curse scene they basically stole beat by beat from the original.

The problem with Emma Watson's Belle is that she didn't want Belle to be a pretty pretty princess because Belle is smart and whatnot and she didn't want her Belle to be forced into some corset. But she seems to forget that she's playing the role of a Disney Princess, one of the highest tiers of fairy tales and fantasy for little girls. Yes, it's nice that Belle is smart and loves books (the fountain scene where she's reading to the sheep and one chews off the page is still so cute to me) but the ballroom scene is iconic from that movie and her weird agenda ruined it.

Agreed. She's far from a classic beauty, but honestly I would have been happy if Disney just wouldn't have cast a girl that had done so many dirty sex scenes to play such a graceful, and respectable princess like Cinderella.

She did both of these scenes way before she was cast by Disney as Cinderella. Nothing gets past Disney. There were videos all over Youtube talking about it before they started filming yet Disney still went with this dirty British girl.

She really is a Dirty-Ella

I've never seen these in stores. I did however bump into these colorful Space dolls at Toy R Us today which I swar look like they ripped of the Monster High doll face molds. It's a new line of dolls called Space Pop Princess Doll. They are not made by Mattel by the way.

They've been shilling the show hard on YouTube for the past few months. The webisodes are pure shit, each gets about 1/3 the thumbs down, on every episode, and there are 50+ by now. I dunno why they couldn't invest in a few decent specials instead of tons of shit.

The live action cinderella movie was the exact hot mess a thought it would be and I watched it on netflix drinking every cringing moment and thank god I've blocked most of it out. I see them in my local Tuesday Morning stores in the sticker clearance section. I want to say they're either 40% off or 60% off, still shelf warming, and they were already cheap to begin with at $7.99 (TM price, not MSRP). They look like a shitty dollar store Monster High. They don't appeal to kids. They appeal to adults. They definitely don't appeal to Monster High fans. I'm not sure what the intent here was (the dolls, not your post), but it flopped hard.

I think they wanted to ride every single gravy train that year; The Walking Dead zombie bandwagon, the alt Disney princess tumblr fanart bandwagon, the "affordable BJD" bandwagon, the Monster High bandwagon, all of it. But these people who keep designing pseudo-bjds always fail because everything is so damn cheap and rushed.

OT but add Zeenies to the ongoing list of failed cheapo vinyl play bjds designed more for adults than kids.

I've gotten a few LE Fairytale designer dolls recently, but the last 17" LE dolls I got were Belle, and Beast.
I was tempted to get Moana, but she was a major let down. She looked like a playline doll, and they made her face look way too creepy. The only "second hand" dolls I bought were mint in box. It was a $440 Ariel because I was to retarded to pick her up when she was still being sold at Disney Store for a $100, and $198 Jasmine because I was dealing with some family issues when she was released.

>I'm not sure what the intent here was
Isn't it obvious ? They wanted to get some of that Monster High doll money so the created Once Upon a Zombie dolls.

You can't really blame them since Mattel did the same thing. Mattel wanted some of that Bratz doll money so they got Bratz temporarily taken off toy selves with a bogus lawsuit against MGA so kids would forget about Bratz, and released their own version of big headed dolls with large eyes and lips. They made the bodies look like long anorexic supermodels, threw in a Monster themed gimmick to avoid a lawsuit, and even pandered to adult collectors by throwing in free doll stands, and articulated bodies. When Bratz finally came limping back into toy stores everyone had already moved on to MH dolls. Well played Mattel.

Mattel doesn't enjoy fair competition. Especially when the competition starts kicking their asses so they killed MGA's Bratz with a bogus lawsuit just like they killed Hasbro's Sindy dolls years back with a bogus lawsuit.

I've been to some /soc/ local meetups and they've been pretty decent. Its really like planning any other event, you need to have a plan beyond "lets just go to the cafeteria". Have an easy to reach location with adequate parking and appropriate to the event, make plans for food (keeping >>6057696 in mind), and have a *reason* to meet besides just "lol lets meet".

Personally I've found toy based meets work great when you're at a photogenic location, like a park with nice landscaping or something similar. Gives more incentive and honestly its pretty great doing photos in a group, you feel way less weird and its safer for everyone in general, more eyes on your toys and can always have a buddy just out of frame for those really tricky shots.

Hasbro destroyed Sindy, kinda sad. Pedigree's Sindy was the UK's best selling doll in 1963 until Barbie invaded in the 80s and Hasbro got it's claws in to the brand in the 90s and then sales declined until she was discontinued in the early 2000s. However she is now back, as a fat baby doll thing.

The original 60s dolls are pretty cute.
>>
>>6060881
I saw an abc 20/20 news story in the late 90s which I taped about the death of Sindy. The story said that Mattel sued Sindy for coming to close to Barbies iconic look. Both companies settled it by having a representative from both doll companies meet at an airport. The Hasbro representative brought along a briefcase full of doll heads for Mattel to chose from. Mattel chose a head that Hasbro could continue using, and sales started to drop shortly after. The abc news reporter commented that It still baffles the industry how Mattel would known which head would kill Sindy.

Theres been several Barbie dolls over the years, definitely a ton in the late 80s and 90s. I'm not sure how the body compares though as the Barbie in that era had a fairly small corset-styled waist. There's also at least one or two Phicens with steampunk theming, the Van Helsing one sticks out in mind. Etsy may also be a good place to check since there's a lot of fashion doll tailors on there. I know a friend got some great victorian dresses for her action figure girls on there.

Instead of the usual /doll/ bitching about the latest Disney doll shortcomings, I'd thought I do something different. Let's have a nice, through review of the SDCC SheRa 1/6 scale doll.
I've been wanting this doll ever since it was announced for the San Diego Comic Con. However, being a SDCC exclusive, I thought SheRa was out of my reach. Unless I wanted to pay after market scalper prices, which is the norm for such limited items. But I guess SheRa wasn't a big seller this year, as she was still being sold on Matty's collector site months after SDCC. And when a helpful anon informed me on a previous /doll/ thread that she was $45 with free shipping during a Black Friday sale, I couldn't pass her up. And a more than week after I ordered her on Thanksgiving, she showed up at my door in a BIG box!
Is SheRa the coolest doll I anticipated her to be? Read on and find out!

Before we talk about the doll, let's talk about the box, or boxes as the case may be. Yo dawg, we heard that you like boxes, so we put a box inside a box, and then we put them inside a shipping box. Yes, that's three boxes nesting inside one another like a Russian nesting doll.
They're big, huge. Xbox sized HUEG. The interior box is 20" x 20" in size. The exterior box is slightly bigger, natch. That's a lot for one 11" doll and some spare clothes. Don't get me wrong, they’re beautifully designed boxes. But why two? While we can dispose of the outside shipping box, the illustrated exterior box is so nice that I feel guilty throwing it out. I could store the interior box inside, but it's meant to be displayed! But then again, the interior box is not collector friendly if you want to remove the doll & accessories. SheRa is held in there by ribbons your forced to cut, clear bands, clear trays, and plastic tags. You're bound to do some damage to that beautiful interior display of Castle Greyskull. And even if you do keep the doll MIB, there's still the fact that you got to find space for that big box to display. Toy collecting ain't easy, yo.

Here she is out of the box. I gotta say that she is one gorgeous looking doll. This ain't no recycled Barbie doll with the bare minimum of outfits and accessories. It's a whole new doll with a unique, highly articulated body, two extra pairs of hands, two full outfits with complementary accessories, and a mini comic. SheRa comes right out of the gate wearing her Filmation style outfit. Probably her most iconic look. Her other outfits consist of a more toy-accurate look of the vintage SheRa figures and her alternate identity as Princess Adora. The extra hands are a pair of open hands and closed fists, along with her standard sword wielding hands.

Eagle-eyed viewers will notice something wrong my SheRa’s cape. The golden cord is snipped! I did that. It was impossible to remove the cape without cutting that cord when I was changing out the doll’s clothes. The head was too big for the cape to slip off. There’s no elastic in the cord either. So I had to cut it if I wanted to change clothes. Maybe there’s another way to safely remove it, but I didn’t see any.
Thankfully, I saved a couple gold ribbons that tied SheRa down in the package. I can hand sew them on to the cape for a cord that can be tied. Still, I shouldn’t have to resort to craft skills to fix a glaring problem with a doll that’s meant to have it’s clothes switched out.

Here’s SheRa in her classic toyetic outfit. Excuse the goggles not quite lining up with the eyes. I swear they were lined up when I posed her.
I like this outfit a bit more than the Filmation version. The skirt doesn’t ride up like the Filmation one does. Plus, the cape has elastic and can be removed much easier. There’s also the sword and bracers, which are differently sculpted and colored from the Filmation version. Lastly there’s the shield which the Filmation doesn’t have because she never used it in the cartoons.

The toy outfit also has this separate one piece undergarment that the Filmation version doesn’t have. I wonder why Mattel added this as it doesn’t really add much to the outfit, save for a little white peeking out from the gold top. Not that I’m complaining about an undocumented extra, but it does go against Matty’s cost cutting fervor. At least it does cover SheRa’s lady bits below the waist. The Filmation outfit has SheRa going full commando under that risible skirt.
It’s also interesting to note that the original vintage SheRa is a darker blonde compared to her bigger, modern incarnation.

“Don’t talk to me or my daughter ever again.”
The Princess Adora outfit isn’t quite as nice as the other two. It rises too much at the hip and the shoulder pieces are oversized. Also, there’s no ray-gun. Bummer. There are two straps in the back so that Adora can sheathe her sword when not in use. Also, the white turtleneck is not a separate piece, but is sewn into the red tunic.

NOOD DOLLY PIX!!!
This is the main reason why I wanted this doll. (No, not that reason!) An all new female muscular doll sculpt with plenty of articulation points, by the makers of Barbie. Color me intrigued! This body has a nice balance of sculpt & articulation to achieve near doll perfection. Double jointed knees & elbows. Detailed six-pack abs. Swivel cut shoulders. Taught thigh muscles. Unf. It really puts the new Made-To-Move barbie bodies to shame. There’s not to many poses that this doll can’t do!

As per the rules of any doll review, we MUST have a nude doll comparison shot. And here’s the biggest surprise about SheRa. She’s actually quite small & skinny compared to most of the Mattel dolls seen here. The Fashionista Barbie is half a head taller and much thicker in the torso than SheRa. I was expecting SheRa to be much bigger overall than Babs, what with her being a muscular amazon and all. She does have much thicker arms & legs than the rest of the dolls, to her credit. However, her hips are very narrow and look awkward when compared to the rest of the girls’ childbearing friendly hips.

…But damn, look at that ass cleavage she has down there!
Another quibble about the body is the quality of the plastic used. It’s about standard Barbie quality plastic. Not bad, but not the thickness or durability I was expecting in a collector grade doll that cost $70 originally. Right out of the box, SheRa had a couple white spots of plastic stress near her knee & elbow joints. I hate that. Oddly enough, the DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman has the highest quality plastic in that previous line-up. She’s very solid & durable.

Here’s a close-up of the articulated toes that I know some foot fetish creep wants to see. Again, a detailed sculpt with the nice touch of the gap between the big toe and the index toe.
If you’re really crafty & ambitious, you could make some sandals for SheRa that has the sandal cord go between that toe gap. And you’ll need some custom made sandals if you want to dress SheRa outside of her included outfits. Her big honking feet are too large for just about every doll shoe I have, including Monster High & Ever After High’s large shoes.
Good news is that SheRa included boots slide on & off her feet smoothly like butter. Bad news is that after a couple times taking them off & on, there’s a couple of cracks in the rough pleather surface of the boots already. It’s a common occurrence in this certain type of material where the plastic leather surface will start to crack and flake off over time. Seeing as how most of SheRa’s outfits are made with this material, it’s not a good sign.

Her big muscular arms tend to stretch out long sleeves. As for pants, they sit rather poorly around her derriere. Barbie may be wider at the hips, but SheRa tends to have a thicker butt. SheRa can’t wear anything tight around the ankles because her of big feet. So no standard fashion doll tights or stockings for you, SheRa.

So just put SheRa in loose blouses & skirts and she should look fine. I kinda like her in this Princess Jasmine style of outfit. It’s like she’s disguised as a harem dancer to get some secret info in a sultan’s palace. I may keep her dressed like this for some time.

So is SheRa worth it? I may have sounded a bit harsh in the review, but I do like her a lot. Granted, for $45 and free shipping, this doll is a helluva bargain when you compare the most recent 1/12 import figures cost about that much along with pricey shipping. And the new standard He-Man figures by Super7 are going to be $35, plus shipping. But is this doll worth it for $70 MSRP?
No.
I guarantee you that most of the production money went into producing those oversized boxes, which I could do without. The assortment of clothes is nice, but that pleather with eventually deteriorate. The body looks and poses great, but the quality for a collector doll of this price is lacking.
But for the discounted price and assortment of extras, SheRa is a fine & unique looking doll for your collection.

While there was a prototype 1/6 scale Catra shown at a convention a few months back, I doubt that she’ll ever be put into production. SDCC SheRa low sales records is proof that there’s little interest in a full 1/6 scale SheRa doll line. That’s a shame because the base body is one of Mattel’s best designed doll bodies. Here’s hoping that they’ll get some other use out of that body mold. Maybe in a weightlifting Barbie? Either way, if Mattel sold the base body by itself, I would buy a ton of them. I love me some amazon women.
So that’s my review of SDCC SheRa. If you have some questions that I didn’t answer in the review, let me know in this thread. I’ll try to answer as best as I can. Hope you had fun reading this review as much as I did shooting & writing it!

We aren't "losing our shit" just because of some box art work , but rather because the advertising, and promotion for this film is being very deceptive in the way that it features the pig as her sidekick in almost all promotion for the film. Even during tv ads the pig is shown interacting with Maui, and the ocean, yet in the film the pig never even meets those characters.

It's false advertising at its lowest. They are trying to sucker people into the theaters with the promise of Disney's next cute , adorable princess sidekick, but the pig is nothing more than a false flag.

It's like going to see Frozen after viewing all the tv ads, and seeing all the artwork of the talking snow man Olaf only to find out after you've paid for your ticket that the Snow man doesn't go on the adventure with Anna, and is only in the film for 29 seconds.

Here's just another of many examples of this false advertising.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB8YF5Nk3hI
>>
>>6066490
That certainly would have been an improvement over the Frozen we got.
>>
>>6066490
The promotional material for this film was finished months ago, before the film itself was finished and finalized. At that point in time, the pig was supposed to be going on the adventure, and the rooster was going to be a total douchebag. They would be contrasts--helpful, sweet, silly pig and asshole rooster that was trying to stop Moana and get her back home. That is why a good portion of the toys and other merchandise for the film heavily feature the pig, and even feature the rooster looked like an angry asshole. The team decided that the rooster wasn't working as an asshole, he ended up getting redesigned as an idiot that worked for comic relief, and they decided to leave the pig off the adventure because it would have made things too complicated.

The clips and promo art that feature the pig (like the one you posted) were completed months ago. Obviously, Disney is still going to use the pig in promo material because it's cute and kids like cute things, but it's more "shit, the pig was supposed to be a big part of her story and he just got sidelined, uhhh well, we spent money animating this and hiring marketing people, we're not going to redo it now, plus pigs are cute and kids will like it" and not "mwahahaha let's pretend the pig is a sidekick and he's not just to get money and tickets!"
>>
>>6066618
>"mwahahaha let's pretend the pig is a sidekick and he's not just to get money and tickets!"
Thats where your wrong tho. They are still featuring the pig in current ads. During the airing of Hairspray Live! they played an ad for Moana bragging how Moana was the number 1 movie in America 2 weeks in a row. The pig was featured in this ad playing with the ocean as well holding up the number 2. This is an ad created post the release of the film yet they still push the pig as having a bigger part than he actually has to get more asses in the theaters. It's false advertising at its lowest. Theres no denying that they know kids, and families are responding to the pig. They know hes not in the film for more than a few seconds yet they still have him front and center in all their current tv ads.
>>
>>6066910
The animation used in that ad was already made.

In any case, this isn't doll related.

The made a NEW ad to brag how the film was the Number 1 Movie in America. The bloody pig was holding up the number 2 in his hand.
There for it stands to reason does it not that this ad was created post the films theatrical release, and that it was NOT on of the many ads they had created long ago.
>>

The pig comes with the doll. One Swimming Hasbro doll doesn't even freaking work without the pig to wind Moana up in the back so she can swim. He is a part of most Moana doll sets which makes him very related.

Why? I think it's cute. Moana swims while her cute pig sidekick hitches a ride on her back.

Is it just me or does the Hasbro Moana prototype face mold shown on the back of the package look cuter than the final product we got. Her face looks sweeter to me.
>>
>>6067835
>The made a NEW ad to brag how the film was the Number 1 Movie in America. The bloody pig was holding up the number 2 in his hand.

... Honey. They did not create entirely new animation just for that advertisement. All of the actual animation created well in advance. All they needed to do was add in the 2, text, and "Moana blah blah praise for Moana" anrration.
>>
>>6067933
I still feel cheated though. I wanted to see more of that little pig. I was going to drop $50 on a big Disney Store plush of the pig as a gift, but now that I know his character is basically non-existent in the film I don't think I should. He could have been the next Flounder or Olaf. He could have been one of the greats. This Princess movie is already lacking a prince. It really could have used a cute side kick character. Would it have killed Disney to just throw old school Disney fans a bone.
>>
>>6067874
It does. Her eyebrows are softer and it looks like she has more of a smile in the prototype.
>>
>>6067874
Not sure the images on the back of Hasbro's boxes are of prototypes and not just heavily Photoshopped. Pretty much all of the back photos look better than the actual Disney Princess dolls.
>>
>>6067739
>>6067751
They've severely downgraded the dolls because they lost Disney to Hasbro so it got rebooted to be a pretty pretty princess line. The problem is that it has the same packaging as the new Monster High dolls and the current Barbie dolls where they have the plastic glued to the large cardboard back and then their most recent offerings (Archery Club, Tea Party, Powerful Princess Tribe, etc) are just gimmick/cheap dolls for younger girls. The only reason anyone would still be holding out any hope is because they said that they apparently had big things coming in 2017 and some people are hoping that new characters get dolls.

Since the line is geared towards action scenes, guns lightsabers etc, it would probably be that. They have done at least 3 items in one of her "queen" dresses, though: tsum tsum, figure, and a combo Leia/Padme figure set with clothes.

New Minnie Mouse LE doll comes out January 22. She will be limited to 4000.

Anyone else think Disney store just recalled the unsold ones, created a few more, and slapped a new outfit on her in order to sell the unsold ones from two years ago that they didn't want to make down or put on sale? I know my Disney store had a really hard time getting rid of the first one. They had a bunch sitting behind the counter for months. I do think shes cuter than the first one, but that $80 price point is so over the top. I look at this doll , and I see a $40 doll.
