Are the Indiana Jones Russian Soldier action figures any good? I need a uniformed "army." If not, do you have any suggestions?
They're garbage.
They have cut waists and thighs.
Everything else is ball hinged.
They'er alright as generic guards and background figures, but that's it. They look good standing around and doing hip firing stance.
They'll never be hero status with those two major flaws.
They're also really short. The Indy figures were true 3 3/4" scale so the Russian soldiers look weird if you're planning to use them with a 4" line like GI Joe or Marvel Universe. Their commander dude (whose name I forget--the guy who got eaten by fire ants in the only cool scene of that shitshow of a movie) looks okay since he was supposed to be very tall, which makes him average height next to 4" figures.
To add to what everyone else has said, they're best compared to Star Wars figures from around the same time.
I'm a big fan, but they're definitely on the shorter side. Buy one, see if you like it.
