Yes, I'm actually exciting blastoff has been "fixed".

I own a g2 bruticus and I'm gonna use him instead, the fact this redeco counts as a bunch of new guys works for my headcannon
>>
>>5986776
did they? Just looks like his torso is turned around.
>>
>>5986781
Exactly.

On UW blastoff you can do that but his hands remain backwards, hence "retooled", all for the same of no backwards hands
>>
>>5986774
>>5986776
He looks nice, but not 190 dollars nice.

I am wondering if some group will do KO's of those hands and feet. How decent are they for those that got Hasbro Computron?
>>
>>5986785
About the same level of articulation as victorion's hands and feet, if anything those hands look like they wouldn't take shockwave's gun port connectors
>>
>>5986783
Oh sweet, definitely looking forward to these guys.
>>
>>5986787
Didn't get Victorion either. How are they?
>>
>>5986787
They do, they have an extra hole just to accommodate him.
>>
>>5986791
They're "ok", for me I found the articulation they offer pointless

>too front heavy so kept falling over
>hollow feet meant no real surface grip
>Extreme poses forced the ratchets to click unexpectedly

But that was my hasbro victorion bare in mind, mileage may differ, I honestly found I could do the same stuff with the regular hfg's, they just didn't look at natural

>>5986795
Well shit, never noticed that
>>
>>5986796
>Well shit, never noticed that

Yeah, it's pretty weird since Computron doesn't have Shockwave as part of the set, and the fact they did that for a single figure is pretty weird.
>>
>>5986774
What I'm most annoyed by is the fact that this set gets a bunch of guns while the original bruticus set got no extra guns whatsoever
>>
>>5986807
They literally used guns from two different Unite Warrior figures. It's not much of an accomplishment.

>>5986796
>They're "ok", for me I found the articulation they offer pointless

Well that sucks. I've never been a fan of PE stuff, their products always clash too hard with Hasbro figures, and I'm also not a fan of the hands and feet also doubling as guns.

I do like the set, but I'm kinda disappointed that these are the warriors Unicron was bringing in.

Also, will it really sell that well? Japs will probably get it since they only have UW Bruticus, but the rest of us could already choose between UW, CW and G2.
>>
>>5986818
That's why its a UW-EX release, limited numbers, intended for the japanese market.

And nothing is stopping the japanese from getting our sets since they can buy online as well, it makes me laugh when I find cw figures on mandarake

lets say primals elbows were loose, you would add a tiny TINY drop of super glue between the crevice where his forearm and elbow connect, then, you would continuously move his elbow until the glue sets (dont stop moving it unless you want his elbow to get stuck)

You're literally folding him over, mine is currently like that right now.

shins facing up to the wheels are on the ground, and contort the main body into that shape, can't remember if you need to twist the pelvis or not though but If I remember correctly the ab crunch must be used.

The reason why my memory is hazy is I own a SDCC fort max and I've used him in this position as a table since it was posted, and between the fort maxes the only changes are the TM face, paint color, sword inclusion and the legs being glued shut, this position should be possible with the takara one

>>
Does anyone else dislike it when toys have static angled feet instead of ankle pivots?

I find they really only facilitate that one single "stand up straight with legs spread" pose and make that specific pose look better by making it possible to have their feet flat on the ground.
Otherwise. I find they make it difficult to balance dynamic poses since the feet are stuck angled in a specific way. In some cases they can even make it impossible to stand a figure with their legs straight if the outsides of their feet are rounded.

Not even ankle pivots, I'd probably rather feet that are just in a static non-angled position.

I prefer stable feet, it really depends, on a deluxe yes fucking PLEASE but on a voyager or leader it needs something like a ratchet to prevent their own weight taking themselves down.

Take mp05, balljointed feet, most of the toy is big, heavy and has a diecast spine, doesn't end well and would rather them being static, hell maybe just bigger feet too

>>

I agree, they should do everything they can to make feet stable. I just find that most of the time, static angled feet only really make the legs spread more stable at the expensive of other poses. I think that just having flat feet would make a figure all around more stable in various poses.

correct me if i am wrong, but some tried that with Generations Sideswipe and then turned the whole thing around to show how Generations Sunstreaker would look with a roof chest instead of a hood chest. That resulted in a Sunstreaker with upside down hands, like the thumb was on the bottom. When Hasbro released Sunsreaker they had to make new hands to fix that, right? And then another set of hands for Punch/Counterpunch, right? My Red Alert is on display, but i'm going to dig out Streaker and Swipe to see in person.
>>
>>5987333
As far as I remember, sunstreaker used the same hands, just that it was swapped around. I can't remember if it was swapped at the bicep swivel or the wrists, probably the latter.

I don't really understand why this new one has such an egregious elbow problem, too. I'd assume it's a compromise for the transformation, but that makes very little sense, seeing as how the arms are basically the same damn thing in both modes. Why does the elbow joint get fucked?

The original ape Primal toy had a gimmick where the lower left arm would change into a gun. On the show, this was reinterpreted as two arm mounted canons that come up from the forearm. Since the gun has to fit within the arm, it leaves very little space for an elbow joint.
>>
>>5987354
The hinges are technically animation accurate as well. On the show he had those bigass hinge elbows, they were just centered in his arms and not on the very edge.
>>
>>5987363
This too, and actually the show's elbows seem more restricted than either the MP or the 96 toy. Can't go past a 90 degree angle. The elbow joint is still unsightly, but its effective.

>>5987349
My favorite is still this little guy, but Despotron looks really good. Interested in the official MP, if they give him a silver paint job and fix his badge for a later release or something. Remember when the objective of the MP line was just "to look good" instead of "too look exactly like the cartoon to shut the autists up"?

>>5987363
Well that's the problem. Nobody's really complaining that it has visible hinges. After all, it's a robot.

>I'd still like to figure out a way to write in to takara to express my opinions on this.
We're in the minority. I feel like most people love that they're embracing the cartoon so strictly. When Hasui was head of the MPs, he was more focused on drawing from all aspects of a character to create a good-looking G1 style toy. As time has gone on, they've just decided to go full-pandering, and since 90% of MP collectors are over-30 manchildren who just want a figure that looks as much as possible as their dumpy 80s toy commercial, instead of something that is actually, you know, good.

I hate the loss of silver paint on these things. All of their faces used to be silver, but now they've switched to flat gray to better emulate the cartoon, I suppose. I always assumed that the grays in the cartoon were meant to be silver, anyway. They just didn't always highlight it properly because it was cheap and lazy animation.
>>
>>5987385
>We're in the minority.

I honestly kind of doubt that. I don't think I've ever seen people complain over a lack of cartoon adherence or the use of clean logos, but I've seen tons of people complain over Shockwave having sloppy animation stickers, Inferno's alternate grills having sloppy logos and now Megatron only having sloppy logos as an option.

I don't know what other fan sites are like or even what the average japanese fan is like (I'm curious about this, actually), but so far the sloppy cartoon logo advocates have been a silent minority that have been content to be forgotten.
>>
>>5987399
>I don't think I've ever seen people complain over a lack of cartoon adherence
Where is this fantasy dimension you live in, and how can I get there?
>>
>>5987405
Okay well not in that broad of a sense, I meant more specifically with the logos. I've never seen people complain about clean logos and I almost want to say people never even thought of the distinction between the two until takara put the sticker options on MP Shockwave.

If we're going to be getting poorly animated symbols then we might as well be getting a Soundwave-sized Devastator because it's the same damn thing.
>>
>>5987427
Do you ever get tired of posting this picture every time you want to reheat your copy pasta that G1 is lazy and bad?
>>
>>5987352
lol fuck off.
MP-36, even if it's fiddly or fragile or something, will still make more sense to own, since it actually looks like the character in both modes, instead of an awkward gun mode and weird "artist's interpretation" of Meg's bot mode.

Don't try to drag some poor sap into your world of buyer's remorse by owning a Despotron.
>>
>>5987430
But it is.
>>
>>5987433
And no matter how many times you say it, it won't stop people from wanting show accuracy. That's all anyone has ever wanted from the Masterpiece line, going all the way back to MP01. He looked like show and turned into the best truck he could manage. It's why people hated MP03. He didn't look like the show because his retard designer focused on the jet mode too much.

Even Hasui, his stuff is "it turns into a real world car except it also has a show accurate robot mode". It's not some "ultimate" version almagated mess. It's ultimate show accuracy. If it wasn't, Optimus wouldn't have giant Optimus crotch and legs in truck mode.

But show accuracy trumps all.

A Musical is a media performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and/or dance all in one performance of a scene. Technically most animation doesn't count as a Musical number because the part of dancing and acting is in debate since a large part of it is animated rather than performed.
However there are some on the edge that can be seen as a Musical number due to what happens in the animated scene
Aladdin's "One Jump" scene in the first act of the film could be argued a Musical number by itself
Beauty and the Beast's scene with the cover song of the same name by itself couldn't count alone as a Musical because Angela Lansbury singing in place while the couple dances would not count because while both singing and dancing is occurring they are separate from each other

In the TF film no actor is sing the scene as it unfolds and that alone disqualifies it as alone. Never mind that all the songs save for one has any direct relation to the Film.
Hell Touch was originally written for the Sylvester Stallone film Cobra

I have no idea what we are getting next year but the 1986 film by itself is not a musical

No Voyagers besides a Motormaster and a Galvatron here, no Leaders, no Titan Masters.
>>
>>5988008
Its not the plastic that's cheap, its the construction on the gear itself. The ratchet has too much resistance.

I noticed these larger simple to transform RID Starscreams were TRU exclusives. Why is that? Does even Hasbro think this hollow shit won't sell? Also, one of his feet fell off when I was there. The buyer is lucky I put it back on or else they'd have bought a new toy missing pieces. These open window boxes are terrible.
>>
>>5988135
I think TRU has a deal for exclusives and are not picky on what it is. TRU has gotten a number of exclusive decos of RID stuff.
>>
>>5988125
Wait, CW Bruticus doesn't even have a proper space shuttle mold?
>>
Do you guys think FunPub might keep doing Botcon as an unofficial con?

I mean, 3H did it and the brand has a strong resonance.

>>5988135
There not exclusive in other countries where RiD has seen better sales in
>>
>>5988164
Wait, RID has poor sales in Hasbroland? Do kids even play with toys anymore?
>>
>>5988167
Couple of factors:
1.tv show/brand isn't strongly pushed but must compete with everything else including blockbuster films, right now the us market is crazy for capes and Star Wars, while TFs are having s strong year it's been thanks to the generations brand, not the kid aimed one
2. Its competing against its own brand. 2015 two toys are the same price, one is oversimple and looks cheap/low in playablity, the other has better quality look, more joints and has a third limb mode to build a gaint robot , for the same price
>>
>>5988158
Save on cost and the markets seem to accept them
Also studies claim if the average consumer can touch the product in some way they are much more likley to buy it, so they claim
>>
>>5988069
Hasbro toy colors ruination when??
>>
Okay, so I've found no evidence there are knockoffs of Masterpiece Hot Rod and Megatron yet they are still on ebay for $40 and $50 respectively. Is it possible these are legit figures that are just cheap because they're old stock from China? Could they be factory defects?

I've love input from people who've ordered these figures before? It seems the fans selling these on eBay can't compete with China.
>>
>>5987921
>Is Hot Rod larger than the cars like Sideswipe?
Yes. He's kind of halfway between the standard cars and Ironhide.
>>
>>5988222
Isn't it normal for Chinese sellers to put stuff out to sell but then never actually send anything? That might be the case, but who knows
>>
I dunno. I ordered the knockoff Masterpiece cassettes and they came in only a few weeks. Most china stuff I've ordered I have received.
>>
>>5988222
From most likely to least
1. They are knock offs and they are lying
2. They are factory rejects and you are gambling the quality
3. It's a scam for money
4. They are overstock
>>
Knock offs are fine by me for that price.

I just found this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-100-AUTHENTIC-Takara-Transformers-Masterpiece-MP-12-Lambor-Sideswipe-/272423505613?hash=item3f6db4cecd:g:tNsAAOSwnbZYCtwO

This has to be the cheapest I've seen these for. I thought $22 was cheap for Red Alert. I may yet order Sideswipe.

I love how it also says "Genuine" I may get it for free if I dispute it in eBay. Gotta love China...

I've been checking the one by my house for a week to no avail, go figure the one a few miles away had a peg full of them. I bought a second Skullsmasher to swap out the legs, lost the receipt and ended up getting $10.76 back instead of the $16.18 I paid for him. It sucks but having a Skullsmasher with working legs was worth it.
>>
>>5988795
Cool, no one cares.
>>
When will EE have LIokaiser preorders up?
>>
>>5988797
Was it the entire first batch of Skullsmashers that got the bad legs? I bought one a couple weeks ago, exchanged it for Blur, then re-bought a second one the other day at the reduced price. The new one also has a floppy leg, hips and thigh swivels are pretty loose. Maybe I'll try the pledge trick, never actually needed to try before. Also picked up the little Flywheels headmaster because the tank/plane looked adorable, and I love it but the headmaster's waist is super loose and the legs want to fall off without much provocation.
>>
>>5988806
My first Skullsmasher was so bad that it couldn't stand, I'd stand it up and then it'd do the splits, I used a ton of Future and it didn't help. From what I can tell I got lucky with this second set of legs, the thigh swivel is a tad loose but nowhere near the original legs. Except for Skullsmasher all of my Titans Return figures have been amazing QC wise. I'm hoping that I'll find Mindwipe and Weirdwolf this week.
>>
>>5988818
The only other quality defect I've encountered with these guys is Hardhead's elbow, which seems to be a bit too loose to hold his gun in any position other than up or down. Well, that and Skullsmasher's gun refuses to clip into his tail and instead just falls out, but that's minor.
>>
>>5988820
Hardhead is an amazing bot and I'm considering army building him. Is the connection point to shallow or mishapen?
>>
>>5988825
It seems like the pins holding forming his elbow joints are loose, or the plastic on either part has not enough grip on one another.
I still like him, but that's one niggling detail.
>>
>>5988806
It's an issue with the steel mold, similar to the tolerance issues on the very first wave of CW Deadend, so the issue is widespread. Who knows if they did a running change to the mold midway through the 1st wave, but if you got one that isn't loose, you'd be very lucky.
>>
>>5988827
Still an awesome figure.
>>5988832
I consider myself very lucky to find a decent pair of legs for Skullsmasher, especially because he's my most wanted figure from wave 1.

That would be awesome.

What deco would G2 Rook be based on?
>>
>>5989162
Well, they could do the common G2 thing of inverting the colors, like they did with G2 Powerglide. So he'd be mostly black with white trim - although that would make him rather similar to G2 Streetwise. I guess you could invert him in a different way and make him mostly blue - which would fit in with the rest pretty decently.
>>
Got TR Skullsmasher. After painting his hips black and tightening them overall, I got some questions

1. What are you supposed to do with the tail in robot mode? I can't find attachment setting that doesn't seem goofy or out of place

2. I can't open the backflap without the use of a tool, and trying to open it using my fingernails at the base protrustion hurts like fuck. Is there some sort of secret?
>>
>>5989697
1. I use the main peg in his hand and leave the gun in to make a big gun. As for storing it? There's no good options really.

2. there's a small tab at the very rear of the flap that I use, but mine moves with little friction. As it's rubbery plastic, I expect it might be a bit oversized or tacky and resisting turning by sticking to the sides.
