iPhone shooter here though you'll find me lurking the stop motion threads more than the photo generals.

Recommended apps.
ProCam (gives you full control over your camera like it was a DSLR)
Adobe Lightroom for iOS (Editing, can shoot in Raw on newer iPhones)
If your interested in chromakey "Foldio"

Make sure you have good lighting for all your shots our youll end up with awful noise in your photos.

Consider investing in a mobile tripod adapter and a mini tripod. You can usually find them at the dollar store. If you want invest a little more I recommend the MeFoto360. For the 6 models its crucial since they have no built in image stabilization like the plus model.

When focusing on a subject in the preview hold on the item with your finger to adjust auto focus. Tap and hold to adjust white balance and focus.

When using the stock camera app you can slide the sun icon to adjust exposure.

For my lighting set up just I use desk lamps. it works great for me and the bulbs I use are day light bulbs. I would also suggest making a light box if you can/want to.

I'm back. For cheap lighting desktop lamps are fine. I highly recommend the flexible clamp lights you can get that clamp on the edges of desks and allow you to move them freely. I also recommend using paper or white fabric to diffuse the lights if you want less glare or reflection. Overall if you want to take clean photos I recommend using a lightbox. Theres 400 tutorials if you want to make your own or you can buy one on amazon. I feel like a shill but I use one called Foldio which is what the app I recommended is for. It's overpriced imo but does the job.

Also learn lighting theory and fundamentals such as 3 point lighting and key lighting.

Not for a pair of figures that have all those joints. There's no "movement" implied. They're stiff, lifeless and stagnant. They look like a couple of cheap, minimally articulated toys that were just plopped down next to each other.
They're badly posed, and the composition is terrible. I mean what are they even doing? Is Luke playing keep away with the saber? Is it too heavy, so they both have to lift it? Are they fighting over who gets it?

It was a couple second exposure on top of parkade. So the out of focus bokeh lights were pretty far away. I used my phone to cast a pink light on her right side. And gave it a tiny low contrast colour change in snapseed to give it a 90s Sailor Moon colour.

Also you don't need a super top of the line camera. Something basic, along with decent lighting, and the steps mentioned in the quoted post, and you can really do some good work.
