Heyo, Sheer guy again. I've updated his appearance.

I took the advice of:
Changing from a baseline body to one of several interconnected pieces. Admittedly it's a little bulkier than I would have liked.

Mimicking Lava Beast's legs, but I added my own little improvement to it for aesthetic.

Bulked the shoulders up a bit and made it symmetrical.

And maintained a consistent color gradient of black and grey. I need to get black and grey pegs and connectors though, as I've only got red and blue at the moment.

Opinions appreciated.
Also, suggestions for a new mask/head are greatly appreciated.

It's much better, but now a lot of it looks like pieces for the sake of putting more pieces on it. If it's not structurally integral or, at most cosmetically benign, maybe it doesn't belong. And maybe try to work in another color, it's looking kinda drab right now.

Actually most of the pieces are holding it together. If I took off the long piece up top his arms would collapse. I used angled ball connectors for his arms, since I didn't want to just connect it to the torso. The only superfluous pieces are the backside, but that's due to him looking like a pancake otherwise.

It's me, I had finished the body but then my PC went BSOD because Windows 10 is shit. I managed to take back the file, though, and I have installed LDD in my small tablet/laptop. Working on a 7.9" display isn't quite the same as a 15.6", but I should be able to work regardless. LDD is surprisingly fluid despite this little guy having only 2 GB of RAM.
Next are the legs, but the body was by far the biggest hurdle so everythign else should be quicker to do.

Hello, LDD JTO Makuta anon here.

The model is completed. Like on the torso, there's some stuff I couldn't build correctly because LDD was being a dick about it. However, only the build is wrong, the parts are correct. This file, after all, is not supposed to be used for instructions. A LDD file for people to use to create lists, edit, etc was my goal, nothing more nothing less.

Now all I have to do is to 1. do a global check up to see if all parts are correct, if I missed something, etc 2. Create a separate list of the parts that aren't on LDD, which I shall post somewhere.

Now however, I have one small doubt. It's about the flame pieces on his staff. Is there a way to make them two toned? Should I paint them trans red? Should I remove them and mention them on the separate "Pieces that aren't on LDD" list?

I did a little thinking earlier and I think Slizers/Throwbots would actually be a great idea for CCBS and showing off its capabilities again. They were such a unique series with different body types utilized, from quadrupeds, fliers, skinny dudes to massive, hulking beings, and then some strange designs like the wheeled one and the fire with with his crotch-head. CCBS would look great on renewed versions.

I just completed My Makuta build, other than the mask. I added the golden Skull Spider masks to his shoulder heads. which I think looks pretty good there. With the smaller masks on, he gives Me the feeling of a Warhammer 40K Emperor.

-Tectonic Crawler lacks the visual cohesion of the others, and I can't understand the Mask choice. But there are some interesting ideas, I really like the Beast feet/claws triplets on the arms.
-Lord of Darkness has some textures clashing. But he looks really, really cool.
-Devourer of the Light has some interesting ideas, but
silver on its own looks incredibly bland. Some color would've helped a great deal.

-Makuta I still think is too chubby looking, but he uses some excellent techniques I'd like to use some day.

I'm honestly pretty mad. I can't even go back there before November and chances are it's gone by then.

I just finished building Storm Beast, and I made sure to cherish it, because it's more than likely that it'll be the last Bonkle-set I'll ever build brand new. It was the last set I needed for complete G2 collection. Now I feel all empty on the inside.

Only thing that's left (for G2, that is) is to gather the parts for Makuta, and maybe the three exclusive masks, but those are pretty much never ever happening.

I think only the Mask of Light and Legends of Metru Nui books had these, at least those are the only two I've seen them in (one of the books also had photographed instructions to build Krahka, but in black&white).

I own the LOMN book, and while the pics are a nice addition, they're nothing special and as usual with Scholastic Bonkle books, the captions are often incorrect.

With the old joints, was it simply taking them apart that caused them to snap? I have a Lesovikk from back in the day and his joints seem fine, but he's been on display the entire time. If I never take him apart, will his joints break?

Mostly yeah, but the lime joints (and random others) can break without you doing anything with them. My Ehlek and 07 Hahli have had random joints crack while standing on the shelf, and not always in the same spot. To be fair, they also got dusty easily and there's a lot of temperature shifts during the year, which may have put the joints in a rough state.

But no one had it worse than my Kurahk. All of its white joints broke while he was just standing in a cabinet. All of them. Maybe I put him too close to Panrahk?

The crippled look worked with them story wise, but I wouldn't say they had creative parts usage. They are essentially Bohrok and Metru parts cobbled together. If they had given us re-colored Metru masks, that would have made them so much better.

Dalu especially was pretty bad. She's barely a step up from Good Guy. It's as if they gave Good Guy's designer another 50 cents in his budget and he came up with the Voyatoran.

At the time (2002), the minifig katana had only been used in the Ninja theme ('98-99) in gray or black and in teal(!) on the Swamp RoboRider in 2000. It was an uncommon piece then.
