Anyone picked up one off those BB7/BBQ MP11 Skywarp KOs? Any good? Some people are saying they hold together better than Takara
>>
Are KFC's poseable MP hands any good? I was potentially going to buy MP Road Rage, and I have MP G2 Sideswipe, and was wondering if the poseable hands were worth the money. At that scale they do look a bit frightening I have to say. That and KFC's track record is quite frankly abysmal.

I have Hotlink and Bitstream preordered, I hope all the positive reviews are true.

>>5923712
Not really. They're full of nubs and flash and are always loose.

They do look good but don't get them unless you're okay to fix every single one you buy.

Are all US retailers sold out of the MMC Kultur preorders?

I really hope we see someone else tackle the MP seeker molds. They aren't MP05 levels of outdated but they do kinda suck compared to the level of shit we have now.

Planet steel express still has him. Pretty sure he'll get restocked every where else though, mmc it seems limited everyone's stock who isn't psx because they're their official retailer or whatever

KFC hands are the only good thing they make. Avoid the prime hands though cause they are shit. They make G2 Sideswipe so much more expressive so I highly recommend that and the dr Wu kit.

Urgh, thats it, soon as I get some money I'm getting him. I've wanted a good Omega Supreme figure for a long time, and one that wasn't $300+ or the size of a fucking house.

However, I looked up some stuff on the add-on for the more normalized head, and it's apparently going to be $40 fucking dollars for a head, new "wings" and an unuseable bust? Thats kind of bullshit. They could've at least made the torso piece swappable or something too. Or made it turn into the missing train and station. Something, anything, other than just being a useless block that holds a replacement head and wings.

So, you would have rather paid the $40 for the head and wings and kept them in a plastic baggy when not in use? Some of you guys just dig for shit to moan about.I wish the torso was swappable too but it doesn't devalue the set for me not being.

I'm still waiting on my preorder and caught this review I kanged the pic from; Seems solid and other opinions I'm reading seem to match. I'm pretty excited.
>>
>>5925837
No, I think he's complaining about paying $40 for a head and tracks because he doesn't give a shit about the stupid bust which is just inflating the price.

btw you're not fooling anyone kuma

>So, you would have rather paid the $40 for the head and wings and kept them in a plastic baggy when not in use? Some of you guys just dig for shit to moan about.I wish the torso was swappable too but it doesn't devalue the set for me not being.

No, I'd rather have had a swappable head and wings in a plastic clam shell for like half the price, without a hunk of plastic that actually serves no functional purpose, with electronics in it no less, jacking the price up.
>>
>>5925855

Or, just to add more: That the torso bust actually turned into, came with, or was, a little train. You know, to complete the illusion of Omega Supreme.

I just feel like they dropped the ball on the bust and made the add-on cost too much because of the bust.
>>
>>5925854
>More digging > Now with added autism.
>Calling me Kuma "because."

Yea, you can shut the fuck up.

>>5925855
I understand. I think I'm biased because I like busts, so it probably looks more cool like that to me than someone who isn't. I feel like without the torso it'd be $30 instead of $40 and not a big price drop.

I also agree that the train, tracks that actually become tracks, and all that would be great but I fear the price would be about double with the added gimmicks.

Has there been a report of one of these sets for Titan?
>>
>>5925891

Do I have to use the torso? Can I just swap the head? Or is the torso, head, and track pieces all affixed to each other?

I'm confused
>>
>>5926033

For MM's Not-Omega, the only swappable parts from the add-on kit are the head and the track-wings. The bust is just a paperweight with a light up feature, doesn't do anything.
>>
>>5926041

So the torso doesn't actually attach to the robot? That means I can transform Apollo with the new head, yes?
>>
>>5926044

The torso bust just sits there being a useless lump, yes. no, it does not attach to the body in any way. The new head removes from the torso bust, and just slots into him in the same spot the old head does, so you can still transform him just fine.

The bust doesn't impede anything, and it doesn't do anything other than light up and serve as a place to put the old head (maybe?) and old wings.
>>
>>5925891
Go away Kuma. You have shit taste and nobody likes you.

> U KUMA TOO

Yea, ok. Seems like he's either a lot of people or that's just a faggot defense mechanism you're using.
>>
>>5926044

The head detaches for the transformation anyways. Nothing on the kit inhibits the functionality of the piece.

The new head doesn't turn into a tank so it kind of just sits there, but you can still transform the rest of it. I really wish the torso was swappable since it looks so nice. I think I prefer the stock because of that.

Took you quite a while to respond with something so stupid. I just went through his list and the last one I found of an SoC was from January 2015 for GGG. Do you actually have one that's current/relevant to counterpoint anything I said?

Even with that one (GGG,) I'm looking at time limits of other reviews on the youtube search and the ones including transformations seem to all be around 30 minutes.

Take your own advice and fuck off. I stand by what I wrote because it's true.

I think another thing is that the lines are more expensive now with more items releasing all the time. Eventually, people are going to just pick their favorite companies and stick to their offerings and a lot of those random companies are going to fall off and stop popping up with stuff. When I collected classics I remember sometimes just buying two versions of a character just because... I can't do that anymore at a buck fifty a piece.
>>
>>5926912
>I think another thing is that the lines are more expensive now with more items releasing all the time

I wish more would go the MMC route of $85-ish dollar stuff. I'd rather buy 2 voyager sized figures than one MP sized.

Gonna' have to say I don't believe you. Seems like another dodge. Either that, or you guys need to stop sharing drinks because the shit's contaminated with dumb-ass.

>>5926920
Same but I have to admit that I'm more interested in getting some of the larger characters than MP stuff at that price ranger which would be the car bots and whatever. If you're talking about classics though, completely agree.
>>
>>5926966
>If you're talking about classics though, completely agree.

I just mean in general. The bigger a figure is, the harder it is to do anything with. Weight and gravity are the enemies of posing, and bigger surfaces also tend to show defects more (ie: paint scratching/chips/etc).

Plus certain figures everyone always seems to want as super huge, when all I really want is just a nice, 6-8 inch Omega Supreme or Metroplex or etc. I don't need some staggeringly huge $400 city body clogging up my shelves and destroying my wallet.
>>
>>5926971
I understand that. I had to skrimp for Utopia so that's my only citybot but it really does just sit there and collect dust while I pull Titan down from the same shelf to play with about once a week or so. On the flip side, there's a shelf presence to Utopia that my titan just can't have. So, I get both sides of that. I hope Iron Factory starts doing city bots.
>>
>>5926977

I just don't really have the room for that sort of stuff, sadly.

And hey, they are doing that Voyager-ish sized Scorponok! So maybe we'll get a similar Metroplex or something.
>>
>>5926966
>Gonna' have to say I don't believe you
Then why should we believe you're not Kuma? That's some nice double standards you got there.
>>
>>5926999
Then don't believe it. Who are you, and why do you think I give a shit? At this point, I'm more in tune to believe your stupid ass is the guy because you make every general a Kuma thread anytime he's mentioned. If I'd never heard of him, I'd google him just to see why you're throwing such a fit.

... and I'm still waiting on an answer to the question asked prior about why dude would have to pretend. And stop saying "we," stop samefagging... it's an anon chat; you don't need to do all of that.

>>5926981
I'm going to have to Google it. Iron Factory is just crazy. They've released so much stuff... even for smaller figures, it's still just a lot.
>>

I don't know why paint would be an improvement over that

So I guess I'll weigh in on Kuma too. I haven't viewed his recent stuff because I can't be bothered to. The reason is that I watched some of his old stuff (about a year ago) and it was legitimately bad. I just didn't like his as a reviewer. His voice is off putting and I couldn't understand a lot of what he said, it was like he was mumbling or his mic was misplaced.

Either way, his photography has gotten a bit better, which was a gripe of mine as well. I don't hate him, but he's not a favorite by any means.
>>
Ugh the SD Primo Upgrade kit while looks awesome is just so annoying long to install. I'm glad they gave you spare screws given Hasbro's are cheap as fuck and screw much better in with their parts.

But the one causing so much annoyance to me left is the head. It just won't get into the ball joint and is being a pain in my ass.

After two hours of work the figure looks amazing. Just the head isn't installed right. So anyone else having a nightmare with certain areas of this upgrade kit?

Personally, I'm just going to wait on regular people getting him in hand. Reviews are useful, but when you're worried about QC/construction/etc, you need a big sample size. All the same, Ben's review gives me hope, although I almost wish it made it out to be bad because I don't want to be tempted to buy a KFC product.
>>
>>5928715
That is my same sentiments. Why test the product out yourself when others can test it for you.
>>
>>5928207
After watching it, my hype has cooled a bit. The construction seems decent enough (but we'll need to see more ordinary people get him to get a better idea on that), but what really cooled it was the Victory Saber mode. The arms really hang off the back without doing much, and the feet are really full of a lot of empty space from some angles.

Oh well, I'm still in wait-and-see mode, but I'm a little less hyped now. Which is fine, I honestly can't really afford it now anyway.

Thats why they do it. It's to emphasize size and make the rest of the 'bot look bigger. They do it all the time in all sorts of media and designs.

It's why it feels weird to me when people call out something for not having a proportionate head, because thats usually not what the design is going for.

The purple and head being not quite right would be more than nitpicking. It's 3P stuff. It can be stylized or it can be accurate.

In this case, it's not very accurate, which is usually not what people are looking for in a Devy.
>>
>>5930528

With constructor looking like hot garbage and partsforming to hell and back Gravity Builder is shaping up to be the best devastator on the market.

The official one tries to look the most accurate but can only do so much on a mainline budget. The ultra thin noodle arms are what suffers the most visually here. There's a gorillian third party options that try to rectify this with variable success.

Both Giant and Herc are outdated.

There's still room on the market for a G1 slavish devastator but I doubt Takara would touch it.
>>
>>5930120
This is probably because they order in such quantities that they have their stock shipped via a slower method like boat. Smaller stores simply have their stock shipped via air.

Though this isn't always the case though. Some third parties ship different orders at different times. Also the infamous middle man might choose who gets what and when.

+ He's enormous
+ Very cartoon accurate
+ Great RoM with double jointed elbows and knees, waist swivel , deep ankle tilts, etc
+ Big, very poseable hands
+ One of the best jet modes of any transformer to date
+Generally good tolerances
+Not an awful nightmare of a transformation
+Ratchets everywhere and all tolerance'd great

- Head is basically just a swivel, you have to cheat to get any tilt
-The lower set of hinges on his elbows are a tad too tight
-The tit plates with the red arrows on them don't tab in strongly enough so when you torque the arm ratchets they try to bust loose
-He suffers a bit from the forced A stance issue because of the lack of play between outward ratchets points on the hips so he's either at attention of spread out dynamically
-The tank mode is the weakest because the turret pieces are too small
-The cannon on his back partforms

+/-He is aesthetically a brick made out of smaller bricks

All in all I love him and he makes for an awesome display piece. He's a solid 7/8. If you like the CHUNK aesthetic I can recommend him.

Fuck Giga they can keep their shit. No damn reason not to include it with both versions.

Anyone know if there are any updates on this? keep staring longingly at my preorder and watching the month slip by with no news

Would you guys say the Planet X dinobots are worth getting?

Whatever happened to those "Machine Robo"/ Not-Gobots some 3rd party was doing?
>>
>>5932098
They've been released man. Reviews and such are on YT.
>>
>>5932131
last time i checked only 4 came out

Are they making more?
>>
>>5924702
I still think he's pretty amazing. Its a natural progression of soundwave from 80's minitapedeck to microrecorder, transformation is sweet, eveything except 1 part stores in alt mode (and the only reason the shoulder cannon doesnt store is because its supposed to be a wireless microphone attachment.)

There are definitely DEFINITELY cons to this figure, the knee placement, the looseness, the folding tab just sticks out the back, etc, etc.. but it shouldn't get as much shit as it should, consideing Battle Rollar is out there.

For being a jumble of robot parts, Deadlock's alt mode actually really works for me.

I really like the almost Gundam-esque lower leg design.

It looks like the same sword their Not-Overlord had, so as long as the toy can shift it's arms enough to actually put two hands over the hilt, sure, why not?

thumbnail looks like he's stroking his giant black dong.

>>5932726

Really wish Giant had Gravity Builder's proportions. Especially the arms.
>>
>>5932729

Why not just get Gravity Builder? IMO he's the best of the lot.
>>
>>5932740
Because it looks awful.
>>
>>5932787

That's vague. What about him do you not like? He has the best proportions to date and arguably the best build quality too.

Giant and Hercules are kinda outdated but still good options considering their current price.

The official one has the worst proportions.

Constructor is Lankastator but from what I heard he holds together just fine. He does partsform out of the ass though and has a terrible head sculpt.
>>
>>5932843
He wants slavish G1 Dev.
>>
>>5932869

Unless Takara does an MP release you will never get the quality build of third party with the accuracy of official releases.

I don't know if Takara will try to do something that complex.

>>5932065

Hell fucking yes they are. Some of the best third party toys around. Though replace Swoop with the Fans Project one. He fits in better.
>>
>>5932876
I don't see complexity being and issue but rather the cost.
>>
>>5932843
The proportions are bad, it looks like a chubby monkey. Also it's overdetailed and way too modernized for my taste. Oh and build quality definitely can't surpass Giant.

Not that I really care though since no Dev fits the bill for me yet.
>>
>>5932891
Hot damn, this is perfection.
>>
>>5932895

People want one so bad I could see there being a market for it. Knowing Takara they would shit out all six at once for 600 bucks.

We're talking about a market that can swallow 400$ pills for unofficial citybots so I can't see how they couldn't do it.
>>
>>5933115
Definitely. TT, FT or MT will make one someday.

Their Wreck Gar from what I hear is real good so it was a good sign.
>>
>>5933337

...So does that mean Spiritual Leader might FINALLY arrive relatively soon?
>>
>>5933302

Well, it's a pretty big figure, and the detail makes it look a little more as if it's an actual model of a 200-foot robot warrior.

>>
>>5933433
it's hard to say at this point. Iron Lady and Untraceable came out of nowhere so suddenly, there's really nothing to say Spiritual Leader won't come out suddenly too.

It seems Beelzeboss also had a Megatron upgrade kit in the pipeline, but there's been no photos or news since the first one.

Frankly I'm more surprised that Trailcutter kit hasn't been released yet, but it does jack all to Trailcutter as a transformer.
>>
>>5933115
>People want one so bad I could see there being a market for it

Mind I'm also talking about the cost of R&D and manufacturing. The Majority that wanted one bade enough have either gone with TW or GT.

>Knowing Takara they would shit out all six at once for 600 bucks

Highest I'd see would be $300-350 even then there a some who won't pay even that. TF are cheap. Most are willing to settle for cw/uw dev because "he's good enough".

>We're talking about a market that can swallow 400$ pills for unofficial citybots so I can't see how they couldn't do it.

And their essentially "shelf warming" too. That's why MT decided to break up their defensor set to make him more affordable and didn't move slowly like Quantron did.

>>5933151

I really fucking hope so. I want a good Arcee and we're not going to see one without a few companies pitching into the ring and dickwaving trying to make the best one.

And I don't really want MMC's IDW-ized Arcee. That design isn't so great. Wish we could get something with a design and proportions like pic related though.
>>
>>5934112
>pic related
Just ask for a hotglue statue.
>>
>>5934124

Nah, I just want an anime-ized figure with great articulation.
>>
>>5934134
Then just buy any anime robowifu cause that's what you're asking for. The pic you posted has nearly zero kibble, its just a female robot with a backpack.
>>

>>5934112
Reminder that if you put the power button in the vagoo, sex would be a real turn off.

>>

>>

>>
>>5934167

Maybe a mostly empty torso and a big booty to put all the kibble into?
>>
>>5934172
Only thing I can think of is if every single piece in robot mode basically turned inside out so that all the alt kibble was on the inside. But that kind of engineering would be extremely complex and probably a pain in the ass to transform.
