Retarded formatting is not enough to warrant an exception from the "first thread stays" rule. Maybe if it was something like OP putting the subject into the name field and making it impossible to find the thread in the catalog, but definitely not if the only problem is that it looks dumb.
If anyone who isn't happy with some minor detail of the current thread just went and made a new one on the spot, it'd just end in five threads running at the same time and all of us looking like retards to the rest of the board. It has happened in the past.
