I don't live in the States, but I use forwarder services all the time.

The package gets delivered to the company, you don't need to pay taxes as it's from Japan. You just need to cover the figure's cost + shipping to Japan->US + middleman fees. They repackage everything (if necessary) and send it off to you.
Keep in mind that, since you need an account at Amiami to purchase anything, you should contact them beforehand about it.

As for the package itself, it can either be left at the PO (so you'll need to pick it up), left on your doorstep, or the mailman knocks on your door with it. If you live in an apartment, you'll most likely get a delivery slip to pick it up at your closest PO.

It's gonna cost a lot extra. It might just be better to pay the custom fees, which I assume you have in your country, than paying for a middleman.
Unless you plan on buying multiple figures and have them undervalue it or something.

gotcha and thanks for the info, the thing about sending it here is that I'm pretty sure it's gonna get lost or damaged so I would rather pay the middleman.

And the thing about my forwarder is that they are not gonna go pick it up at the PO, the packages need to be dropped off but if that's what they normally do then it's no problem. I think

Why does it even matter if your forwarder picks it up at the PO or not?

package handlers don't really care much for the packages they're handling, sometimes literally just throw it to you

If you want the megaman, i can sell it to you without middleman service. You just have to pay for the delivery cost when i ship it to your address. I dobt really want it anymore.

I have had trouble with all kind of packages they get damaged or stolen and actually going to the office to pick them up is a pain, the most reliable way that I've found is importing with a forwarder cause they have people in the customs.

so my concern with this is basically whether or not a package from japan gets delivered to the address or if a pickup is required.

Because if a pick up is required then a forwarder won't work in this case. but from what you're saying it looks like it should be ok
